These locks were left there by Chinese couples. They bought these locks, locked them, and threw keys down cliffs. By doing so, they hope they will never separate from each other unless the keys can be found (it's impossible). It's like an oath to marriage or partnership.
The 长空栈道, Long Sky Plank Road is about 1,500m above the ground and is very imposing, but since you're given a harness to tie into the safety line, it felt like the least dangerous part of the hike.
We were there in early August, so it wasn't a special holiday, but it was a weekend, and my video doesn't quite show just how crowded the mountain gets. I was trying to focus on the beautiful views instead of the mass of people.
Looking at it gives me vertigo, esp the plank walking and even more insane, is the narrow stone steps after that, it looks as if you actually walk on those chains in the air! But it looks thrilling...I think you went at a time when's it's not China's main public holidays or their golden long week vacation.
