  • john i want the blower that installs on the back of my stove ..but i cant figure how to order what i need ...i have a russo w-20

    yvonne

  • @fbull66 hello, I am not familiar with your model, but i would pull the old motor off of your heat exchanger and head for my local electric motor surplus outlet and just match one up.

  • @ROCKNTV1 thank you john

  • @ROCKNTV1, I mean I stand corrected. You're right about the creosote build up if mounted horizontally.

  • Hi John,

I don't have room to mount the Magic heater vertically. Can it be mounted horizontally?

  • @TheBluegreen0620 I would have to say, the Magic heat should NOT be mounted horizontally. Can you config your stove pipe any other way,,

  • @TheBluegreen0620 I just bought a Magic Heat. According to the instructions they don't recommend mounting it horizontally but it CAN be done. Get a hold of the manual and it will explain how to do it. You could probably download a pdf file of the user manual. Good luck.

  • @numag1 i would advise against mounting the Magic heat exchanger horizontally for several reasons, In the video i show you the lubrication ports on the blower are vertically orientated. second the cleaning bar would scrape creosote in to an area in the Magic heat exchanger to a place it would not exit the unit and possibly collect.

  • I have one of these on my old wood stove.. works fine.. however i believe the fan motor is on its last legs.. will the back come off with the fan w/o removing the whole unit? want to replace the fan on this thing.. let me know

  • @BlueRidgeRuckus the back comes, off like in the video, you can oil the motor.

  • @ROCKNTV1 - Thanks.. im gonna give it a shot and see if the motor just needs some oil.. if not do you know where to get a replacement or do you think i can get this one rebuilt cheaper..

  • @BlueRidgeRuckus i show you the blower motor in the vid and where to put the oil, your magic heat exchanger documentation may lay out the maintenance schedule.

  • @ROCKNTV1 - Thanks.. i was taking apart the fan assembly when i got an email with your comment.. i will disassemble the fan and clean it tomorrow at work.. going to use an air compressor to dust it out real good.. unfortunately i dont have any documentation as my house was built in the late 70s and who knows when the magic heat was installed.. any chance you know of where to get a pdf of the documentation?

  • @BlueRidgeRuckus sorry on the doc.s no, but def clean it twice a year, the heat and all collects on the fan.

  • @ROCKNTV1 - well i think the motor is bad.. i cleaned it up real good.. oiled the motor.. it will run for say 30mins.. then it shuts off.. this is with the thermostat or switched to ON position.. then you hear the motor trying to turn.. so any leads on a replacement motor? i see one at northern tool for $50+sh..

  • @BlueRidgeRuckus have you tried to run the motor off of the unit to test if full voltage is at the thermostat, it must be at 150 f or above. As far as a replacement motor i have not looked , mine is still working

  • i got one of these and the fan is blown and the thermostat fell apart. my stove is a double wall with a squirrel cage blower i wonder if i could use the blower for both the stove and then the magic heater.

  • @commando7144 THE therm is there to come on at a stove pipe temp of higher then 150-175 f . It is like that to cut down on the creosote in the unit and there abouts, I,m not going to recommend that one bud but you can try it if you clean the pipe a few times a season.

  • cool device

  • @onlywhenprovoked these heat exchangers work, i have no way to know this years wood savings,, but, my oil savings was over 1000 dollars saved on oil.

  • Hi,i have enjoyed this video very much and i have looked every where in UK,unfortunately no one sells this magic here.would you sugest some one?

    Thank you

  • @jurisgeorge73 you can try the site in the description it should be listed there from amason or goog, these exchangers work pretty good, mine is blowing hot air as i write this thnx for stopping in,

  • @bieberonMeth sorry did not see this

  • cool way save fire wood and get more heat

  • @bieberonMeth yeah man , these heat exchangers make a huge difference.

    thnx for stopping, plz sub

  • Oh man thats nice i like your stove witha view! that magic heat i been wanting one of those I bet they can really produce the heat and save wood too!!Thanks for the video cause i have seen these magic heat in catalogs and online but never a video about them very nice and cozy thanks

  • @arkansastrash320 your welcome bud, ,, the stove is a bit small, but the magic heat works unreal, mad heat comes out of it and i am sure i will burn less wood to keep the temp the same. Next year i will prob look for a bigger stove as this wood stove only fits 18" pieces ,thnx 4 stopping in..
