Good job only thing i didn't like was the lead player trying to do a Santanna swipe up the neck hit the wrong notes and got outta time other than that was awesome!
Nice playing. But I don't think it was neccessary to stress so much in the title and everything that he's a young guy. If he's got the talent, it don't matter how old he is, and he does have the talent.
man i have been trying to find this kd on here for about a year i stumbled upon him around that time and forgot name of band and im thankful to listen to this music played to its perfection well doneand by the way ive been playing 16 yrs now
try this on a tele it sound great,no matter the guitar the tone and attitude is what counts i saw someone shredding on an expensive gretsch now that is rare haha.
what´s wrong whit a hollowbody? it´s ok to try new things and not being ovbious,
Playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" (SRV) on a Hollow Body is against the law in Austin Texas!...Good playing, but lose the hollow body if your gonna play the blues
@CoachG1000 - Lol, yes I can see this being a felony in Texas :) The thing is, when this video was shot, he had just gotten a new guitar (the hollow body). He needed to find his sound and soon realized that it was a Strat. Since this video (shot three years agon) he has gone on to play with some Blues giants - on the Strat I might add
It's a fucking joke Jimi Clapton....why do musicians have to be so serious?
Ok, he's great, your great, but no ones better because music is not a competetion right? We all are supposed to hold hands and sing Kum-ba-ya naked...go play your saved game on Halo, slut.
One box... I didn't hate it, but there's no way I would've been blown away by it.... Its like a painter painting in one corner of the canvas. and DONT say Oh, he moved at the end... It was still the same damn box. It was good playing in one box, but it was still one box, not to mention that your amplifier fought your rhythm playing the entire way through. I'm not a straight blues player, and the only vid I've got is a bad one from a year ago of noodling, but I've heard better from younger.
@L2112Lif@L2112Lif - I get what you are saying. If you have examples of younger players that you like, send them along. This video was never presented as "the best ever"! It was a 13 yr old kid with great feel and some amazing blues chops for his age. The interesting thing about YouTube is: I find myself commenting and in some cases defending a video from 3 years ago. As they say proof is in the pudding, check out the guy now. Check the newest video link at youtube.com theddamage
I like this video. I myself am a blues guitar player about the same age as Tyson. I am mainly influenced by blues and rock. Having said that I am anything but limited to those two genres. My point is: Does Tyson only play blues?
@Wingenbrady95 - Hey cool man keep it up! Tyson is now 16 and has branched into Jazz, rock and Funk. When this video was shot, he was really influenced by Blues masters. Although it is still his favorite genre, he has expanded considerably. If you subscribe to the channel, I'll be posting some more vids in the next week which show progress. Best of luck with your music
@brobst95 dude im playing the blues too but i dont have good equipment..:\if only i had 2500$.....thats all i need....but nothing stops me from playing the blues:D
@alfonsominnella - I see that you play rock and like Led Zep. Cool! However I do not agree with your comment re blues sound. There are many different tones. FYI, Led Zep. more or less ripped off the race records (black artists) to create their sound. Check out a CD called Whole Lotta Blues. It is the Zep songs played in the original blues style. Keep it pure, be a brother in music :)
This guitar is a Jay Turser (copy guitar). It was only his second guitar after a Fender Squire. He is now 16 yrs old and has a beautiful Fender Custom Strat. This kid made his own money gigging and doing oodd jobs and bought his newest Strat which he almost exclusively plays now. But it did start from some humble beginnings. Thanks for the kind words
A lot of people do not realize that blues is a music form that is not typically embraced by younger players. This young guitarist has fantastic feel and meter.
UPDATED VIDEO - This video has received many comments, thanks to all for the words of encouragement. Here is a link to the latest video showing progress over one year.
He's good, but perhaps he could work on incorporating more of his rhythm guitar into his lead work. My favorite players are ones that can master the transition between the two, and since he can do both, it would be a great move forward. Solos that lack solid chord progressions and progression based licks become repetitive. Hopefully he will continue to develop on those areas and we'll see more videos :)
Your most welcome. My father was a electric guitar player, self taught from the age of 13.He was excellent. He passed in March. He would of thought Tyson was a very talented superb player himself if he saw this video. The kid has a grand future.Natural talent.God bless him :-}Éire go Brách.

I don't think anyone patronizes this young player. The fact is he continues to impress a lot of people, new videos coming soon, showing impressive growth. Only now is "only" fourteen :)
