@CoachG1000 - Lol, yes I can see this being a felony in Texas :) The thing is, when this video was shot, he had just gotten a new guitar (the hollow body). He needed to find his sound and soon realized that it was a Strat. Since this video (shot three years agon) he has gone on to play with some Blues giants - on the Strat I might add

One box... I didn't hate it, but there's no way I would've been blown away by it.... Its like a painter painting in one corner of the canvas. and DONT say Oh, he moved at the end... It was still the same damn box. It was good playing in one box, but it was still one box, not to mention that your amplifier fought your rhythm playing the entire way through. I'm not a straight blues player, and the only vid I've got is a bad one from a year ago of noodling, but I've heard better from younger.

It was a 13 yr old kid with great feel and some amazing blues chops for his age. The interesting thing about YouTube is: I find myself commenting and in some cases defending a video from 3 years ago. I like this video. I myself am a blues guitar player about the same age as Tyson. I am mainly influenced by blues and rock. Having said that I am anything but limited to those two genres. My point is: Does Tyson only play blues?

@Wingenbrady95 - Hey cool man keep it up!  Tyson is now 16 and has branched into Jazz, rock and Funk. When this video was shot, he was really influenced by Blues masters. Although it is still his favorite genre, he has expanded considerably. If you subscribe to the channel, I'll be posting some more vids in the next week which show progress. @alfonsominnella - I see that you play rock and like Led Zep. Cool! However I do not agree with your comment re blues sound. There are many different tones. FYI, Led Zep. more or less ripped off the race records (black artists) to create their sound. Check out a CD called Whole Lotta Blues. It is the Zep songs played in the original blues style. Keep it pure, be a brother in music :)

This guitar is a Jay Turser (copy guitar). It was only his second guitar after a Fender Squire. He is now 16 yrs old and has a beautiful Fender Custom Strat. This kid made his own money gigging and doing oodd jobs and bought his newest Strat which he almost exclusively plays now. But it did start from some humble beginnings. Thanks for the kind words

He's good, but perhaps he could work on incorporating more of his rhythm guitar into his lead work. My favorite players are ones that can master the transition between the two, and since he can do both, it would be a great move forward. Solos that lack solid chord progressions and progression based licks become repetitive. Hopefully he will continue to develop on those areas and we'll see more videos :)

Hi Alex, no we are not a band that has released anything on itunes. We were invited to play at a function and were lucky enough to have someone record us. The players all gig with various bands. Tyson who is featured in the video is a cool guy who digs Blues. He sat in with the band and blew us away
