  • This guy is guilty of everything he either speculated on, or attempted to deflect in order to cover his dept's. failures. Seems a motive to do that is now starting to come out, as we find this killer had family members working with in Pima County, and the police actually talked people out of pressing farther charges that would have taken Laughner off the streets long before this ever happened.

  • Ms. Kelly made a complete fool out of him, here ... or rather set the table for him to make a fool out of himself. He should be removed from the investigation IMMEDIATELY ... You can't have someone investigating who'd like to PROVE a particular thing - listen when Megyn asks if he has any evidence, how he goes "Not yet, but ....", then goes on with his bullshit ... Lastly he calls what Limbaugh, Beck, and prbly O'Reilly talk about "nonsense". - "We can't have this nonsense ..". Like he knows.

  • ... The Pima County Sheriff's Department was aware of his violent nature and they failed to act appropriately.

Sheriff Dupnik FAILED to investigate fully and assure that Loughner did not have access to lethal weapons and see to it that he received the mental health care he obviously NEEDED.

This is unacceptable and the Sheriff should answer for it. This tragedy leads right back to Sheriff Dupnik’s gross negligence and all the spin in the world is not going to change that fact.

  • Every victim of his threats must also be wondering if this tragedy could have been prevented if Sheriff Dupnik had been more aggressive in pursuing charges against Mr. Loughner. Perhaps with a felony conviction he would never have been able to lawfully buy weapon he used to strike down the lives of six people and decimate 14 more.

This was not an act of politics. This was an act of a mentally disturbed young man hell bent on destruction.

  • Jared Loughner previously made death threats against people in Pima County, including staff at Pima Community College, and local bloggers. When the Sheriff's Office was informed, Dupnik’s deputies wrongly assured the victims that he was being well managed by the mental health system. Also was suggested that the further pressing of charges would be unnecessary and probably cause more problems than it would solve. Was Loughner’s mother, employed as a supervisor for the Pima Co. Parks a factor?..

  • People, please stop pretending that this guy is pointing fingers at anyone but the political Right. All of you suggesting that it's suspicious that the Right is making noise about this clown are being intellectually dishonest by not saying it's equally suspicious that the Left is NOT. This guy went on a tirade that first named TALK RADIO. Air America does not exist any more; there are no leftist talk show hosts. It is blindingly obvious who he's impugning.

  • This guy is the blind epitome of the political Left. "Anything bad is the fault of Republicans and Bush. Proof? Who needs proof?" To the extent that Loughner's political beliefs can be assessed, they are clearly leftist. Unless you believe that the political Right is the one known for using marijuana, admiring the communist manifesto, and building demonic altars.

  • Thank you, Sheriff Dupnik. He's absolutely correct, and he specifically avoided naming names. However, the only people incensed by the Sheriff's criticism of violent rhetoric are Republicans. You have to ask yourself, "Why is that?"

  • @knittingwit

    "he specifically avoided naming names"

    He can't remember them.

" the only people incensed by the Sheriff's criticism of violent rhetoric are Republicans"

First, that's incorrect. Second, that you find it somehow suspicious that someone should be displeased that another person is accusing them of inciting murder tells us all we need to know about you.

  • @Mal3volution

"...that you find it somehow suspicious that someone should be displeased that another person is accusing them of inciting murder tells us all we need to know..." Precisely the point, the Sheriff didn't accused a specific person. If a person is not guilty, why would they be "displeased?"

"He can't remember them." No one should have to confront the realities of Alzheimer's, but you're making a flippant comment about it "tells us all we need to know about you."

    Peace.

  • Agreed. As a result, I don't think that this sheriff is of sound mind. He definitely should not be in public office in his current capacity. I for one, find selective insinuation dangerous from someone suffering with Alzheimer's that 'should' be well practiced in the realm of plausible and fact based evidential cause. He's certainly pointing a finger at the right, unless one chooses naivety about the political climate of the last two years. Why are you choosing to be such a hate monger? Peace

  • @shoematt

You raise a point that many seem to overlook - this man is supposed to be a representative of the rule of law, which states that an individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Putting aside for the moment where he is CLEARLY pointing fingers, he blames this incident on the "vitriol" of politics. He is absolutely cocksure that this is the cause, yet he has no proof.

One thing has been proven - this man is unfit for his office.

  • @knittingwit

"If a person is not guilty, why would they be "displeased?""

I think I can safely rest my case here after that point. The implication that one should not be displeased when facing baseless charges - more, that defending oneself against such baseless charges proves the charges themselves - is ridiculous.

By this "logic," Barack Obama was not born in the United States - as evidenced by his protestations that he was indeed born in Hawaii.

  • @Mal3volution

I'd hardly call directing members of the media to his birth certificate "protestations," moreso obligation.

Obviously, we disagree, but I feel the Sheriff had a valid point. The fact is the rhetoric - on either side - has become inflamed. To pretend otherwise is to the detriment of our country. Discourse could be more civil is all.

And lastly, to insinuate that the Sheriff has a faulty memory does not make it so. By this "logic," I can fly - as evidenced by my insinuating it.

  • @knittingwit

So when a Democrat defends against an accusation, it's "obligation." But when Republicans do it, it's somehow suspicious.

"The fact is the rhetoric - on either side - has become inflamed."

Which is utterly irrelevant unless one is attempting to connect cause and effect.

"to insinuate that the Sheriff has a faulty memory does not make it so."

I think it's obvious my point was a joke, whereas yours was a serious purportment, but I'll accept your backpedaling.

  • @Mal3volution

Defends? Again, your words that carry far too much heft. He simply furnished a document. The fomenting was not President Obama's.

I wasn't attempting to connect. I was simply stating my opinion, irrelavent of this case, trying to politely come to an agreement about the rhetoric on both sides. Ironic that you would take issue.

And lastly, your joke about the elderly and memory loss was in poor taste. It's fairly obvious that it is you who are regretting your words.

    Peace.

  • @knittingwit

"Again, your words that carry far too much heft."

Yeah, I can't be bothered to converse with someone who can't be bothered to complete a sentence.

" I was simply stating my opinion, irrelavent of this case, "

When you learn to spell, then learn to think.

Then, come back and make your case. You're babbling in incomplete sentences and spelling that would embarrass an inner-city grade-schooler. Shape up... or shut up.

  • @Mal3volution

You're replying to a thread from over a month ago? Really? Dude, seriously, let it go already.

  • This had nothing to do with the "rhetoric" This kid met her 3 years ago and did not like her answer to a question he asked. He has been angry ever since. All indication point to paranoid schizophrenia. He also seems to smoke a lot of pot so shall we indite pot smokers. Maybe we should look at the parents and the school system that clearly knew he had mental problems. As usual the left will try to use a crisis to push their agenda further down our throats.

  • @colinseattle Oh please it is clear what he is doing he directly blamed Sharron Angle and Sarah Palin for the shootings. So what about the dailykos post that said they are TARGETING Gifford for not voting for pelosi a comment they have since removed but seems to be ignored by the left. When the Fort Hood shooting occurred the left said oh lets not rush to judgement. When the car bomb was found in NYC it was first reported to most likely is the work of the tea party oh the hypocrisy of it all.

  • This is just amazing this guy is doing just what he is complaining about. No doubt he blames the right. Dupnik is a jackass. No doubt he opposes anyone that speaks out and disagrees with his views and is using this to attack the right. Before the left points fingers they need to look at the 3 that are pointing back at them.

  • That little cunt whore just got owned...
