  • Great composition!

  • He used a lot of large muscle movement of the elbow and shoulder jerky movements rather than small muscles of the hands. That makes the sound different!

  • one of my favorite song!

  • sooo speechless right now O.o

  • Man where in the world did find that old grand piano? Priceless. And your playing is incredible.

  • ON guitar this song is much better.

  • I have to say, despite this song being written for piano, I think it sounds much better on guitar.

  • Verdaderamente maravilloso!

  • used to play piano and now playing guitar, this is two awesome instruments. Both playing amazing this melody...

  • Masterful.

  • I would love to learn how to play this on guitar. I can already play it on piano.

  • Beaucoup de feeling Excelent ;) Trés beau

  • Damn! I Got chills :D great job man i wish i could make my guitar sound like that!

  • Beautiul

  • @okanbozz so what lol

  • @RobbVonZeppelin finger squeaks are supposed to sound great :)

  • Very beautifully mister Henderson!

    You are Great musician! Bravo!

  • best on you-tube

  • that would suck if he messed up the last chord haha

  • this is the most beautiful i've ever heard

  • love it

  • This song remember me some Poe's poetry such as "The Raven"

  • Phenomenal! Bravo! Absolutely flawless.

  • did anyone notice his eyes are closed

  • that guitar is saying to the piano "what now bitch!!!???"

  • this is so good even Beethoven heard it!

  • Muy bien, bravo

  • fantastic precision, really really emotional playing.

  • i heard that beethoven once said smth like this - guitar is like an orchester.

    very nice instrument . truee.

btw ppl I made Guitar Pro tab of this, I can send u if wanna learn it B)

  • @33COOLMAN33 i want tabs! can you send me?

  • @33COOLMAN33 hey if its on ultimate-guitar then its the one I'm learning this from.

if it is then thank you. I'm really enjoying playing this so far.

  • this is beyond amazing. Thank you! :)

  • WOW!

  • Timing and tone is flawless! ♥

  • Saw Igor Presnyakov recently post a segment of moonlight sonata, amazing. But, I don't know if it can compare with the raw feeling of this interpretation. Either way, great piece:)

  • dislikes WTF!!!!

  • @dmmc7 Tells you alot about the comprehension of music in all too many folks out there

  • Flawless. Absolutely flawless

  • amazing! such detail and heart... amazing.

  • so much easier in Am on guitar isn't it lol

  • your interpretation of this movement is to be admired.

  • amazing, much better than the other vids

  • this is perfect....its not too fast or anything like that...its a matter of interpretation. This was his interpretation of the song and it was perfect

  • wonderful playing but too fast

  • He oozes passion in his playing....a pure talent :)

  • Oh is it over already ? *sigh* ... press repeat ...

  • that piano is feeling a total respect for the guitar.

  • @Iaokanan29 Shortly after the video cut off, the piano gave the guitar a fellatio!

  • Whenever I play this I try to sound like him.

  • Really shows me the beauty of the guitar... but also it's limitations.

The guitar has to share all notes between six strings, where a piano has a string for each note. Makes life a lot easier when holding phrases and including expression.

  • @Luminareo Well you are right but the piano is also limited to some of the stuff you can make with the guitar.

  • I wanted to clap at the end but the second before i clapped it thought damn it isn't live..

  • si triste et si belle a la fois et tu la reprend super bien chapeaux

  • What a fantastic rendition! The quiet intensity in the performance is palpable. Thank you for sharing your gift.

  • I had the pleasure of attending an Eric Henderson concert back in 2000 or 2001. It was an intimate affair at a small neighborhood church in Venice, CA. He played songs from his then new CD

"Castilian Nights." It was a truly magical evening. When he played the song "Grace" I was literally moved to tears, it was so beautiful. Even now, when I listen to the CD on my iPod I am taken back to his performance that night. Truly wonderful!!

This video has the same effect on me

    Mr. Henderson gives

  • this is so good my jaw dropped before i even pressed play..

  • if the guitar was around Beethoven would learn to play it just for this piece

  • Seems to be easy to play when we're watching this, but at 1'10 it becomes EXTREMLY hard !! My poor fingers...

  • Neat , Clean , Nice Play..........what an amazing play !!!! Marvelous !

  • MUITO BOM !

  • loved it

  • this is just amazing

  • beautiful , it put a tear on my ear

  • DUDE.... a BIG thumbs up FOR YA !!!!

  • IMPOSSIBLEEE

  • Beautiful...

  • tabs on the floor

  • @okanbozz lol

  • The Spanish guitar is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. It is tangible poetry.

  • i was just wondering if you could email me the sheet music for this piece or tell me where i can get as i think this would be perfect for me to play in my exam .

    thankyou

  • guitar with a heart

  • How did he do that chord in 0:13? It's the only one i can't

  • @onimusher just put your pinky on 3rd fret on E string

  • @MrSpencyr Maybe it's because of the tone color given by the bass guitar. :)

  • This is the best interpretation of Moonlight Sonata on the planet that I know of. Just listen to other interpretations here on YouTube and you will agree. I would like to here Christopher Parkening, the perfectionist (with much admiration and respect) perform this piece. Well done, Mr. Eric Henderson. I will be studying this piece... ;-)

  • Andres Segovia

  • beautiful but personally i prefer it on the piano

  • @BECKERvaiMALMSTEEN66

was just thinking the same thing

  • tabs or sheets any1?

  • hermosa sin duda

  • Eric you play that very wonderfully. Moonlight sonata is one of my favourite piece Beethoven wrote. I first heard my father play it on piano and I bought the sheet music to play on guitar. Tuning the e string down to d. It just go's to show what a contribution Beethoven gave to the human kind.

  • simply enchanting!!

  • STUPID QUESTION ALERT whats the difference between a classic guitar and acoustic

  • @SergeiTheAnarch Actually a classical guitar is also acoustic...but the "classical guitars" usually have nylon strings, and don't have the cutway...

  • @el1ex very good points (although more and more lassical guitars have cutaways) - can I just add that classical guitars tend to have flatter fretboards and more often than not do not have fret markers. Also, the headstock and bridge on classical guitars are markedly different from "acoustic" guitars. Steel strung guitars tend to have "pegs" or "pins" in the bridge to hold the string in place - classical guitars rely upon a unique "threading" technique to tie the strings in place.

  • @guitarguy3502 Hum...Good to know!

    Thanks man!

  • @SergeiTheAnarch i think you mean whats the difference between a Nylon string guitar and a Steel string guitar. for the answer, im sure you can look it up now...

  • steady cool !

  • the floor is absolutely amazing to be fair

  • I bought my Piano today, I was a guitar played but I quited it just today.

if u ask me why, well I think it makes me throw tears each time I play on it, so I need to stop

  • I LOVE MY CLASSICAL GUITAR!

  • Flawless.

  • puts me in tears.

  • @Yno909 u mean 4

  • beautifull indeed

  • beautiful interpretation!

  • Beautiful!

  • The best guitar-version I've ever heard. Besides the fact that, in my opinion, "Für Elise" is the most beautiful song, composed by Beethoven, this version of "Mondscheinsonate" is much more contemplatively...

I love the way Henderson explained the intention of this sonata by simply playing it with emotions. It's not only a technical convertion - it's a touching masterpiece.

    Amazing...

  • Amazing!

  • EXCELLENT !!!

  • que linda interpretacion......la disfrute demasiado. claro de luna en guitarra acustica suena hermoso....saludos desde colombia

  • wunderschoen!

  • Dass war einfach Himmelisch!!!

  • and who says germans are not romatic. Beethoven, Bach, Schubert, Liszt etc. All German. And don't forget the most famous composer at the moment is also a German, Hans Zimmer, someone Hollywood cant do without.!!!

  • @nityure Liszt nicht Deutsch Ungarn!!

  • @nityure I totally agree. But Liszt is Hungarian.

  • beautiful... 5 star! probably the best on the web!

  • @Magicstrings6 Beethoven would be thrilled to know some1 a couple hundred years ahead is playing his music for thousands to hear. I think for a classical guitar piece it is played PERFECTLY

  • I reallylove that song. I feel sad when i am listening Moonlight Sonate

  • You are Genius. Love your music.

  • this has helped me with the proper fingering of this song so much. thankyou!! :)

  • Emotions. All you need is Emotions, to make such like this! :

  • @tasatful don't you know, Its mandatory that you make that face while playing Beethoven's music!

  • @tasatful No, that was his guitar crying.

  • i never new that guitars could sound this amazing

  • the piano seems to be jealous of this guitar interpretation that is by the way the best i've ever heard of oonlight sonata, thanks so much for that

  • You go... mine has been in the closet for 35 years, I think I am taking it out and put new strings on it.. this is just great

  • Fantastic...perfect tempo too..played with feeling and the sound in really nice.

  • You look like a night club bouncer but play with such delicacy, tenderness and passion.

  • don't play it soo fast!!!

it takes away from the minor tone of the piece

  • Great interpretation!

Hope you perform a lot because your playing is really good
