    like i said. it's not that that was necessarily what she was thinking, but you can hear the obvious mary j blige influence in the song. very 90's hip hop soul vibe to it. and mary basically invented it. the song has a strong connection to that foundation mary laid then. check out the mary track "all that i can say" if you need a good reference. it's there. and she does it effortlessly.
