  • Three oranges don't love him back.

  • @TheRoseYao Bril.

  • @TheRoseYao Bravo!

  • we done this in school, I LOVE IT!!

  • trist,pesimist,dar atat de actual

  • тамаша!

  • prokofiev can remind you of any kind of music you've heard: he is a genius

  • Parts of it remind me of Wicket's theme from Star Wars...

  • I find it interesting how the two top comments are from the same user...

  • The problem with Prokofiev's film music was that it was far too good for Eisenstein's films...Which was probably why the composer made suites out of nearly all of it...

  • @cheradinine8 With all due respect, Eisenstein's movies are masterpieces -- and as far as I know Prokofiev wrote the music to only two of them. While "Alexander Nevsky" has aged a little bit, "Ivan the Terrible" is still an amazing psychological drama. Partially thanks to Prokofiev's score (oh yeah, and he didn't make a suite out of this one).

  • I want this as my ringtone.

  • Thank you Charles Bukowski for introducing me to this march. I'm sorry that your father ruined it for you.

  • I think Prokofiev was the most influential composer for all film composers. Listening to his pieces is like going through some film music, only that it's better:)

  • All these young idiots have no frame of reference prior to 1980 movies. Maybe they should investigate a bit of history before displaying their profound stupidity.

  • Quit arguing. Its great music. As for its politics, it was used as the theme music for an American radio show called "Gang Busters" which ran during the McCarthy period in America. :) I find that funny.

  • @vladdrac88 - ironic, ain't it? Imagine if Prokofiev had been called before that idiot McCarthy and forced to answer whether he had ever been associated with any communist party or members. Of course he was associated with them in Russia or he would have been croaked by Stalinist hoods. But that don't mean he was a friggin commie. Whatever his politics, the guy was a damn good composer.

  • 1:14-1:38 sounds like the Imperial March from Star Wars a bit.

  • Hella sounds like the Tattoine music in the beginning

  • @KingJLace Ya, John Williams "borrowed" alot...

  • @HammerOvThor

"Borrowed" is a good word, especially since he filed the serial number completely off.

  • Нефиг спекулировать. Просто слушайте музыку. Это прекрасно.

  • who is the artist?

  • I love oranges too...

  • why does this remind me of world war II???? lol XD

  • @cutiepie76685 ha, HITLER ESPECIALLY!

  • @cutiepie76685 Ha, sounds like Hitler's army

  • @yansprachen23 dude this is fucking SOVIET MUSIC!!

  • @sialuab Soviet music my ass. He was not a communist. But still this is not for Hitler and certainly not for communists.

  • Love this

  • Hmm, so this is where John Williams borrowed from for "the imperial march"

i do like the imperial march better tho

  • @ngg4life

    que burro do caralho

  • @ngg4life Listen to "Mars" by Holst (part of The Planets).

  • @ngg4life foda se... comé que é possivel haver gajos com tanto esterco no cérebro???!!!!

  • God damn I fucking love Prokofiev

  • @chammasp language, young man!

  • @ckdead1 sorry man but its the only way to express my love for three oranges

  • I adore Prokofiev. I wonder what he would have completed had he spent the final years of his life outside the Soviet Union and Stalin's enmity? As it is he completed such glorious works.

  • Does anyone else think of nazi Germany when they listen to this song?

  • This was used back in the 50's on a television show, like so many other composers

    songs. Thanks for posting this.

  • @Psyche777able . I don't know about TV, but it was used on the radio program "The FBI in Peace and War", on the air frm 1944 to 1958 .

  • @edisone1 - a communist theme used as FBI theme??? Wow!

  • @1400deadwood Prokofiev wasn't a communist.

  • @DickMcPenis - years ago when we studied his work in school (this was like an eternity ago) there was some discussion that his loyalties drifted depending on who was in charge.

  • I don't know about you but I just clicked on this video because I thought it was some orange ménage à trois...

  • Do you know the name of the conductor and orchestra who combined for this piece?

  • This Music Is ideal For The play called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Since 8th January-19th March 2009 At St Vincent College in Gosport

  • I love how the highest rated comments aren't even about the video.

  • Dude, I love "March of the Ewoks"...wait...what do you mean, this isn't John Williams?

  • @FastRideOnAShortBus hahaha was just thinking exactly the same thing! but this is a really good source to be inspired from, as is Holst.

  • Prokofiev, he is the best

  • this is so fucking awesome

  • Classics never go away. Also consider when this was written under Stalin. Its amazing the guy produced anything like this. Damn good.

  • @cellofingers

    1) you have quite a western stereotype Stalin's Russia in your head

    2) this very piece was written in USA or France in 1920-1922 I guess

  • so mighty orange *bukowski

  • I love your channel! I'm so glad I found it! :D

  • Mi sento dispiaciuto per quelle 39 persone che non hanno capito questa musica...

  • this is AMAZING!

  • Classical PWNS!

    That's the chorus.

  • @Flutist11 I tried to sing it and it works xD

  • @Flutist11 hahahaahhahahaahha

  • Masterful.

    Yo Chess.

  • lmao my music teacher show us this song and the people screamed '' OMG IT'S STAR WARS '' and it really looks like =S. At least, it was created before SW.

  • @SilenceXCore At least "Parade of the Ewoks" and "March of the Villains" from Superman.

  • Film composer John Williams is a derivative of Prokofiev, Mcdonaldized for the huddled masses.

  • @francisPoldark He is derived from Shostakovich and Stravinsky as well.

  • I love this song. I march around like a dumbo. We listened to this in music class.

  • incredible. some persons accused this music of being an opera Bolshevik ..., but really, this one was so revolutionary in the moment...

  • Easily my favorite march of all time.

  • I'm Fourteen years old and this piece is one of my favorites.

  • you got to love s. prokofieff

  • Oranges are one of my favorite fruits.

  • the ewoks..... THE EWOKS, OMG!!!! THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

  • @Cdiwins1 Ahahaha well said!!! The Ewoks are everywhere!!!

  • "Boy that's getting cheap..."

  • ...I'm in awe. Honestly, he's the only one who nearly gives Bach a run for his money.

  • Prokofiev was a genius...

  • I LOVE THIS PIECE! AMAZING!

  • Look at me. Me need attention from people I don't know on internet. Me do so by mocking guy who looks like the stereotypical intelligent man. Hurr durrr

  • I believe there's a difference between being an asshole and having a sense of humor. /:

  • @SgtSanchez

For most people that difference faded away, how sad it may be ;)

  • @SgtSanchez I am novice to this new You Tube method of making comments so i am making it on top of some comment you are making- This is the best overall version orchestrally I have heard of this song- especially considering dynamics, and the great bass fall down into the middle section. And you guys are calling each other names.

  • Life is short. Don't waste your time worrying about what I've said. Just enjoy the music while it lasts.

  • @SinSeared hahahaha

  • @SinSeared

That is the definition of intelligence.

  • Prokofiev: Peter and the wolf, Alexander Newsky, The fire spirit, and ,and ,,,, great Sergei !!!!

  • The orchestra? Too mushy for my taste. Needs sharper entrances and more driving intensity.

But, naturally, always nice to hear it!

  • Maybe some Verdi: Requiem, Dies irae will suit your tastes.

  • i do love it too!

  • huh?

  • i love this piece!!
