However, I do beleive that the sanctity of marriage should be respected by keeping it what it was originally intended to be, which is the union of man and woman. Every person is free to make their own individual decisions, but altering to meaning of marriage affects every one, which isnt fair.

It's not free speech when you are calling people evil, it's just spewing hate. Yes we would like you to shut up but that is not what the duct tape stands for. You can express any opinion you have but shut up if you are not going to be respectful. You can disagree with someone with out resorting to calling them names.
The duct tape is there becase it's a "silent protest". I think they chose to use it on THEIR faces because THEY feel like THEY are not being heard. Nothing to do with you.
