  • Won't cotton cords be susceptible to moth damage?

  • I didn't hear him mention it, but you should do this during low-humidity seasons (late fall or winter). I could not get the doors out when I tried a little while ago because they fit too tightly.

  • That was nice and clear. I've done this many times, it's not always as straightforward as it seems here. For instance getting the access plate off to get to the weights can be a real problem, you have to release the parting bead set between the two windows, they often break in the process. The wax trick is neat.

    Thanks for posting this. How about one on fitting the Simplex Window System, for hinging sash windows....
