The John Birch Society is the most dangerous authoritarian influence in America. These people want only rich christian whites to be able to vote. That's why they uselessly hammer on democracy, because they hate the idea that people are voting that aren't them- They believe in a no party system, of course you'll have to be judged by JBS to hold office, so they actually want a one party system. If you have any liberal beliefs you better keep them to yourself or they'll get rid of you- TRUTH
@THEINVENTABLETHREAT your so wrong about the jbs were did you get your info out main stream news go to a jbs meeting and listen to what they have to say.rich white christian to vote im poor a atheist and a proud member of the jbs. please learn the real truth before you speak understand whats really going on in a america.
OK... but the Founding Fathers were an oligarchy, and they bestowed the ideal of republicanism.
So it's a very crude analysis to suggest that only one form of governance works, because that form was bequeathed by another. If republicanism works, then by extension the oligarchy must also work.
... and democracy seems to work pretty well in Europe.

John Birch Society got it wrong - the Nazis and the Socialism may be on the left ECONOMICALLY, but that's about it. Socially and Politically however they are completely different - Socialism, undistorted by Marx, Stalin or Mao, is liberal and open, with values that are internationalist, pacifistic and progressive, etc. Fascism, is is inherently jingoistic, militaristic, racist and conservative. That's a real difference, and in comparison Socialism and Progressivism is preferable then Fascism
@TheVoiceOfReason93 Hahaha thats a hilarious statement "Stalin, Mao" was not liberal at all, you have no idea what liberal means. liberal is individual freedom and private property and restriction of government. Liberalism is Locke, Kant, Mill, Schumpeter not Marx :D And are you actually saying that communist societes are open? then you are confusing communism and socialism.Communism is the definition of a closed society with informants and total control of all social and economic activity.
No, I SAID: Socialism, UNDISTORTED by "Marx, Stalin or Mao", is liberal and open, with values that are internationalist, pacifistic and progressive, etc. Fascism, is is inherently jingoistic, militaristic, racist and conservative. That's a real difference, and in comparison Socialism and Progressivism is preferable then Fascism
Constitution makes it inflexible to make social changes. Go for Britain, it has not real constitutional system like America, that's why they are more adaptable. Same for other European countries.
@TheVoiceOfReason93 I respect your position. However, I must disagree with you. If I look at Britain (and all of Europe), what do I see? I see a nation under surveilance. I see a nation under gun-control. I see a nation losing it's culture. I see a nation losing it's soverignty to the EU. Although all the things I have mention could also be applied to the United States, the level it has reached in Britain is shameful. For nearly all our history as a nation we have tried NOT to be like Europe.
I have been to Britain - everything looks fine. People still do elections, they still have freedom of speech and expression. UK promotes Multiculturalism, so inevitably that there may be an illusion of losing its culture, but its not, when I toured London, I see British culture in every aspect of life. So what if they got gun control, their culture never demanded it, and they did fine without it. And the EU is by far more of a economic and diplomacy forum, with no real power
Right and left are economic terms to describe economics. Liberal and conservative is another scale all together. We live in a constitutional democratic republic. The right left scale they use is a fantasy dreamed up to demonize anything "leftist"
Thank you for this video, really helped me out in my Government class

@TheVoiceOfReason93 This is where turning the spectrum 90 degrees comes in. Fascism is top left, Communism is bottom left.
