  • how much is that shaver?

  • man thanks

  • I've been shaving with a regular razor for years (Gillette). I was recently recommended an electric shaver as it would be easier, quicker and safer for me. So, I bought one. (Panasonic Pro-Curve Wet/Dry ES7109s). Having said that, I don't know if I'm doing it right. Even using it wet with cream I'm finding that i still have a hairy face in some places. It may be because I'm new to electric shaving. I don't know. I've never used an electric shaver before. Shall I just keep trying with it?

  • Just bought the Arc IV today! Excited about using it! Ditched my Braun. Thanks for sharing!

  • YOU LOOK LIKE ASHTON KUTCHER HEHEHEHE

  • have you tried dryshaving, if so which one is better & effective

  • i don't know about you but wet or dry it seems that electric shavers do shave well but but not everywhere there will be spots that i would go over 100 times but won't cut so then i have to use razer and thats takes lot time.

  • i didnt have the volume on at first. i was like, why the hell is shaving his face with toothpaste?

  • @laylo777 OMFG thats really funny XD

  • is it better to use shaving cream/gel than to just get your face wet?

  • Be a man; use a straight razor or a safety razor.. Only pussies use e-shavers (btw Williams is full of silicone which fills your skin with nice molecules..)! LET THE CREAM AT LEAST 3 MINUTES TO SOATH! .oO(damn hell)

  • First, I'd like to say that I learned much from this video after first buying my Panasonic shaver and want to say "Thanks!" Also, I used a nice Italian shaving cream packaged in a tube like yours called "Proraso." Which was great. However, my very best shaving experience with my Panasonic has come through wet shaving with an oil called "Shave Secret." And I'd highly recommend it.

  • How much pressure must you apply with your shaver? Because I know the one I use doesn't require me to kill my face, but requires a lot.

  • nice video,im new user of the electric shaver.and i dont think i know how to use it.i bought a braun cruzer 4 ! if some one can give me a link that shows how to use it,it would be very help full :)

  • Any advice for someone who is interested and yet reluctant to try a foil again? The one I tried was years ago and looked like a cheaper model. It was a present.

  • I am very interested in a wet shave and the Panasonics sound very good. My concern is that some folks say that they don't get a close shave under the chin and around the neck with a foil shaver. I experienced this with a cheaper foil shaver which broke pretty quickly on me. I have been a rotary user of the basic philips models for years. Dry shaving up to this point. My hairs are thick and I am doubtful as to the ability of a foil shaver to cut such a beard successfully.

  • I have never seen anybody use shaving cream with an electric razor. I bought a Braun Series 3, and I just use Lectric Shave before, works like a charm.

  • my shaver has a sideburn shaver thing. can i use that on my head?

  • You Don't Even Have Beard....

  • dude, how much is it? and maybe i prefer shaving gel than foam....

  • For this man.... shaving is serious business.

  • do we have to make those faces too?

  • 18000th view!

  • i know u guys shave wet but if u use lectric shave u can shave dry with no irritation

  • why use an electric shaver if you're gonna use shaveing cream? in this case you would be better of with a blade.

  • your prep could have a lot to do with why you got irritation. best shave? cut throat. also try stretching your skin physically rather than just putting your head back. i can't imagine this being a particularly good shave. generally 2 passes with my straight edge and it feels like a newborn's skin

  • thx man, nice video!

  • i wonder what the difference is between the more expensive and cheaper panasonics are. the ones with the the 3 blades seem to be the identical blades.

  • Thanks for the nice video, superman82. I've just got my first electric shaver (a Panasonic ES7101) but haven't tried it yet. I've been suffering from nasty irritations (folliculitis) for more than three years and got really fed up of using antibiotics tablets and creams...

  • I have never wet shaved with my electric shaver, did not even think i could do that until i saw this video now, i wonder what is the main differens between wet and dry shavings with an electric shaver?

  • I personally find that the panasonics dont shave that well at all dry. Be carefull though, not all panasonics can be used wet.

  • Could i use both Shaving Mousse (Foam) and Gel with an electric razor, or should i stick to foam that you are using? (whats best)?

  • 3. i use gillete foam. is it better to use cream or gel with electric shavers?

    4. there seems to be so many minute hair particles inside the shaver around the blades. will your technique of cleaning them remove all the hair particles or just help remove the grease?

    5. there is a provison in the side which says trimmer. what purpose does it serve?

i know thats a lot of questions. take ur time to answer them. i will be waiting.

  • 2. after a quick google search i only see that the shaver is washable. Im not sure if that means you can shave wet.

    3. That is personal. try both and see what works best.

    4. that will clen the whole thing.

    5. that is for trimming your sideburns.

    Thanks for the comments, cheers.

  • thanks for the review superman. i have been shavingwith a razor and have always felt comfortable. but recently bought a Panasonic ES7111 for the new year. first of all, i didnt get a close shave and had to move oevr the same place over and over again. i am ready to wait for a few more weeks to feel comfortable. however few questions:

    1. panasonic manuals never mention anything about the specs or techniques.

    2. how do i know if my shaver supports both wet and dry shaving.

  • Thanks for your review bud. I'm going to buy in few days this model: PANASONIC ES SA40

I don't have that much money to spend, and since it;s my first electric shaver, I hope the blades and foil will last for a while, at least 2 years, even if I shave 2/3 times/week.

You helped me understand it's better to use a wet/dry shaver than the classic dry models

I've checked around this price philips and braun. but they don't have the wet function and the rotary ones just seem stupid to me.

    Thanks

  • No problem. Just take care of your razor and it will take care of you. By shaving 2-3 times a weak and taking care of the blades you should have no problem having them last a few years. best of luck.

  • i have a eltric shaver with two heads on it would the method of shaving change when using this?

  • Is it a rotery shaver? One of the phillips? Ive never used that shaver so I cant comment on the technique.

  • i use both.

    so what now?

  • I shave with a chainsaw

  • Just stick with the electric only for a few weeks. Dont go back and forth. Dont worry, things will get better. be patient.

  • hey hip hopsuperman82

I wanted to tell you that I am a beginner to eletric foil shaving. I recently used the wet shaving method. I don't get one thing, while I was shaving, I took your advice from the video (the steps and all) but never got a close shave and it irritated my skin. I started bleeding in between probably because I have a few pimples. I don't get it, Do you press the shaver down or just put it on the face and slide downward with no pressure. I use a Panasonic ES4026. Please help.

  • First things first: its very normal for your first few shaves to not be the greatest. Not only does your skin need to adjust to foil shaving, but you need to figure out what technique works for you. I would suggest using very little pressure your first two weeks of shaving. gradually start using more as needed. This is especially true if you have a few pimples. Take your time and things will fall into place! Cheers

  • to bad u didnt cut ur head off.

  • does using circular motion give you a closer shave???

  • It just makes sure you cut all the hairs really.

  • I was planning on getting an electric shaver, but I see that it takes even more time and effort to shave than with a razor blade. What´s the benefit of this shaver then?

  • well...if your skin is very sensitive an electric shaver might be better for you.

i for myself get a rash everytime i shave with a razorblade so thats why in the past few years ive just been trimming my beard to about 1-2mm with a hair trimmer which is working fine. but i think of getting an electric shaver like the one in this video to clean of the beard completely without getting any skin irritaion

  • same with me...im 16 and been doing the same for about 1 year.

i cut myself last night [ an tips on shaving, i have no one to turn to, both of my parents are utterly clueless ]

  • It sucks for one of my bros cuz he has a monster beard. My other bro loves his. I'm 29 but not that hairy, I get a PERFECT wet shave just like with the Mach 3 with no cuts or irritation in 3 minutes. It cost me about 68 bucks on eBay.

I gave my super hairy bro a Gillette Superspeed 1948. He loves it with Israeli Personna blades (red box) and said this combo is better than every multiblade razor ever. I got that for around 20 bucks on eBay.

  • I got the ES8249K it's called the Arc IV Nano and is wet/dry.

  • i bought the 'panasonic es 7036s' a couple of days ago and ive been using it just like described in this video. the first time i got a rash but after 3 times shaving its getting better and im getting less and less irritation.

i use a shaving creme and after im done, i apply after shave followed by moisturizer...

  • The cheapest thing you can shave with that is better than most creams is hair conditioner.

Besides that, I use AlphaGlide gel or Cremo Cream.

  • your girlfriend can use it to masturbate with afterwards...

    dual purpose

  • Nice video. Can't wait to try it.

One question, did you ever have problems with razor bumps by shaving in that circular motion? Did you ever have a history of having problem with razor bumps?

The hairs on my face are growing slanted and I was looking for ways to help fix that.

    Thanks.

  • Ive never had any problems with razor bumps. Although I do have sensitive skin, its mostly due to redness. Wetshaving is a very personal thing and the best way to find whats best is to just try, Best of luck!

  • use lectricshave it stands up hairs

  • Thanks for the fast reply! I have been using this shaver for awhile and always seem to miss hairs dry-shaving and get bumps wet-shaving so I need all the help I can get! What shower gel do you recommend? Do you mean like liquid soap that isn't intended necessarily for shaving or something that actually is? Here's what I have tried to little success: Barbasol, Gillette Foam with Glycerin, King of Shaves Kinexium oil (works the best for me), Edge gel, and Softsoap liquid soap (experiment) - Thanks

  • i mean a plain old shower gel, not at all intended for shaving. it will make the shaver glide. dont use to much pressure.

  • I guess there is something to the better foams out there that make them foam up and stay slick, but I have found with low-end products like Barbasol and the cheaper Gillette ones that they just wash off when you go over them with the shaver and a little water. What foam/cream do you recommend that won't break the bank (like $15-20 for cream is TOO MUCH but I know some people will spend it!). Thanks for the review - it was really helpful.

  • I agree completely about the cheap foam up shaving creams, they just rinse away as soon as a little water is applied... thats no good. The cream I use in the video (a remington shaving cream) used to be perfect because it cost just a few bucks per tube and lasted quite a while. They have since changed the formula though and their new product is garbage. To be honest with you, if you want something really slick that wont rinse away to soon, go with a basic shower gel. (continued next...)

  • pick one that foams up quite a bit and dont use too much water when shaving, it works for me. Put a thin later over your skin (dont make it foam up), put a thin strip over your shaver (a bit like I did when cleaning my shaver in the video) and shave away! Use water as needed.

  • I recommend King of Shaves AlphaGlide or Cremo Cream.

Alphaglide smells medicinal and is more slippery and around 6 bucks.

Cremo Cream smells like orange ice cream and is creamier and around 8 bucks.

The bottles are around 6 ounces and last months if you used the recommended quarter-sized squirt.

  • Thanks for the great tip! Ill see if I can find some of that. Do you have a link showing exactly what cream you're using?

  • Thats great! Im happy to hear I was able to help you choose a shaver that suits you. You have found shaving nirvana!

  • i cant find this razor newhere online!!! where did u get urs??

  • The Panasonic shavers are quite difficult to find, depending on the country you are ordering from. I lucked out and found one on eBay Germany. Where do you live?

  • Welcome back to electric shaver land! Make sure to keep me posted with the results.

  • awesome video. i have to ask: is it necessary to use circular motions while wetshaving? can't i just use back and forth in direction of hair, or is that dry shaving only? could i use a preshave oil instead of cream or both? last, after shaving i seem to have stray hairs left. have i not fully adapted yet or should i use trimmer to trim them?

  • Shaving is a very personal thing. Seriously, do whatever works for you. I've read about people using shampoo as shaving cream. If that works, go for it. For the stray hairs left over, are you shaving daily? If I don't shave for a few days and my hair gets a little long, i will notice a few strays. I just use the clippers to get rid of em.

  • awesome man thanks. great work on the video! really helped.

  • hi, Got an panasonic wet/dry Elec Shaver. ES3042 is the model. When i told my friends that i will first see youtube to learn how to use it, they laughed at me. But your video was great introduction. I never knew how to use wet electric shaver. Was very helpful.

My first shave was not very great. Had a few cuts, but still guess in 2 weeks things will improve

    tata,

    shiva

  • Glad to be of service!

  • I have just brought the Panasonic ES7102Wet and Dry razor (after watching this video - top work!) and the wet shave from it is very good (When using the shaving cream) I have found that the cream is leaving white powdery deposits on the razor. What's the best way to remove them?

  • For the most part, i just leave it on. I havn't noticed it affecting the shave, so I don't worry too much about it. That being said, about once every 3 months I remove the blades and foils and let them soak in a mild degreaser. Make sure to rinse thuroughly after.

  • Someone give this guy a Merkur HD, a Super Badger and a mug. LOL

  • LOL. Trust me, I've tried.

  • hi mate. nice video. actually I am a full blade shaver and I don't shave that often. normally once a week, now I got some skin problem, and doctor told me not to blade shave instead use electric shavers.

can you help me telling which shaver should I buy first time. and does this shavers damage your skin in long run? ta

  • Thats a tough question for me to answer, it's really a personal decision. The first thing you need no figure out is if you prefer rotary or foil shavers. Both have their ups and downs... Then you gotta choose a brand. All I know are foil shavers, so thats all I can comment on. The general consensus is that Brauns are the most gentle, but no so close, remingtons are least gentle, but very close, and panasonics are between the two. Google "Electric razor rap" for a great forum for research

  • nice one. thanks matey

  • nice technique for the jawline

  • great video!

Have you ever suffered from ingrown hairs before using this shaver? and do you suffer from ingrown hairs using this shaver?

  • Could you please provide the link for where you purchase the Williams shaving cream in a tube from.

    Thank You

  • Sorry, I actually used to just buy it in stores. (Its very common in France) But they actually recently changed the formula and I stop using it. The new formula is too liquidly and to be frank, sucks.

  • What about if it's your first time wet shaving, is it normal to see a little redness? (but no cuts)

  • A little redness is fine. Your skin just needs time to adjust. If you are still getting redness after 2 weeks, maybe wetshaving isnt for you. Remember to use a very light touch.

  • is after shave and shaving cream necessary and does it have to be wet?

  • No, not at all. This is a wet/dry shaver. As mentioned in the video it can be used dry, like a regular electric shaver, or wet.

  • ohh.. Thank you so much for all your help =]

    You helped big time mate.

  • Thanks for the quick reply =] .. But why does your skin need healing if electric shaved ? I thought its foil will protect your skin.

  • Hi, I have very sensitive skin and have a very HEAVY thick beard growth...yes the worst combo possible.I use regular razors and I am thinking about switching to electric shaving. So I was wondering if I switch to electric will my pimples slowly go away ? Because my skin is pretty oily and i keep getting small nicks when I shave.they dont show up right away but next morning I see a pimple. So will an electric shaver do any good if my hair is thick? I was thinking about buying something like yours

  • How long is too long for beard hair length to be shaving electric?

How do you reduce your beard hair length before shaving with your electric shaver, if it is too long for an electric shave?

  • After about a weeks growth the hair is too long to be cut with an electric. To reduce the length of your hair, first start with some clippers. Just like the kind the barber uses.

  • i have a very heavy beard growth, should i try an electric shaver.

  • For sure. Todays high end razors can give a shave equal or better than anything you can get from a blade.

  • Hi i have a question: do you really need to put pressure to press the shaver against skin or just touch it a bit to the skin. Bcoz when i use it first time today after watching ur video ani ended up with deep cut on my skin by doing those circular motions.

  • No, dont use too much pressure... especially if you are new to wet shaving. Start for the first week using VERY light pressure. If you shave isn't close enough after a week, then start using more pressure. Start by taking your time. If you cut yourself electric shaving, somthing is wrong. Good luck

  • Thanks for the reply. I'll try it and report back for the rest of you guys.

    Thanks.

  • Excellent.... I'm sold- Thanks!

  • cool...
