  • shame they're on a speed limit here...

  • Now that's a big virgin dick

  • virgin Trains are always the best

  • Horrible, bland, dull, uncomfortable, cramped rubbish trains. Bring back the real ones please, even if they are a little slower. Fat chance of that though :( I've never been on any sort of multiple unit that's been an improvement on what it's replaced other than being a bit quicker, and life isn't about rushing everywhere like a headless chicken - give me a pleasant journey over a slightly faster unpleasant one.

  • Great video

  • finnish pendolino is better

  • penodolinos rock!!!!! The voyager are a little ugly tho

  • Too beautiful for a train!!

  • @marcsharp82 yes but they replaced the legandery class 87 so i dont like them

  • 5 ***** i love the doors nd the front is just nectarr

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Where are these Pendolinos from? Because, I don´t know Virgin Trains, so I ask, where is it? And how qiuck is it?

But I think, Virgin Pendolinos are nicer then Czech Pendolinos.

  • England, West Coast Mainline, Made by Alstom, 140MPH design speed

  • Only 140? I believed 200 MPH:-).

  • Nobody.

  • @KovalainenElias they are only allowed to hit 125mph due to signalling but their top speed is 140mph not 200 the only train that can hit that in the uk is the eurostar e320 which starts service 2012

  • @KovalainenElias You get em in the uk and their top speed is 135MPH manily wolverhampton to london line.

  • pendelinos are tha most amazeing train ive ever traveled on

so quite and comfortable and relaxing

but i agree with you on voyagers there horrible to travel on

although i love the engine sound

  • @b191191 depends what company voyager, cross country in ctapmed virgin is better although pendolino beats ALL

  • @alexgets98 yerh ive noticed that ,I really dont like cross country atall,

they have runined there voyagers when they got there hands on them.

Arriva seem to have no respect for any of there units , they have treated the class 175 units the same.

  • Move to Dundee☺

  • nice vid mate!

  • Comment removed

  • So Great!! 5* =))

  • AAAA.101333Z JAN 2009 My word some off them do shift..Though looks like a speed restriction on one track and at 2m.26s the slow line train is going faster ?? thank you for posting.......AR.

  • must have been slacks on the up fast because the normal line speed through tring is 125mph (EPS)

You wanna go up to rugby, 125 through there now, bloody impressive!

  • Great Video, Does Tring Station have ticket barriers?

  • great videos!

  • they were going quite slow wernt they. i went there a week ago and they must have been doing at least 100 miles per hour if not more

  • In fact the only time a pendolino sounds interesting, is when a 57 thunderbirds pulling it.

  • Oh they sound alright opening-up with that hollow whining sound, but uninteresting at speed,...but yeh, 57s are ths sh*t! :)

  • The pendolinos are too much of a YAWN for me, they just seem to endlessly float by without any sense of occasion or drama,Im off cos Im borrred already, if this is trainspotting 21st century style, you can keep it, give me Deltics and Westerns, Whistlers and Warships any day.

  • Oh god; Westerns are the only decent thing you've mentioned there, but yeh, Pendos raise a yawn on their own!

  • at 1:05 thats fast!

  • The Virgin Pendolino trains are fantastic, nearly as good as TGVs, though somewhat slower. Inside they are comfortable and the onboard service in first class is out of this world.

  • that's a bit over-kind, I feel!

  • Un tren muy xulo

  • slow

  • oh christ, i'm bored to tears

  • how many carriages are pendolinos officially meant to have?

because on the virgin trains website, it says 4, but very often there are 9

what do they put in the extra 5 carriages?

  • The pendolino is officially ment to have 8 or 9 carriges.the voyager is ment to have 4 or 5.

  • 390 Pendolino has 9

    220 Voyager has 4

    221 Super Voyager has 5

But 220/221s often run as double trains

  • 221 are 4 or 5 cars. 220 only have 4.

  • Temporary Speed Restriction, of about 50 on the up slow if i recall correctly.

  • There was a TSR at Tring on the up fast during that period as Network Rail were laying some fresh ballast.

  • what is a tsr

  • nice love the pendolino and the sound of them sounds like they re going very fast

  • 220025 was in Cardiff on 02/12, my Dad apoke Mr Branson and asked him to use Pendolino for the 18:24 Piccadilly to Cardiff journey which is usually ATW. It stopped at Stockport, Macclesfield, Stoke, Stafford, Wolves, Brum, Cheltenham, Bristol TM, Parkway, Newport, Cardiff. The conductors on the local DMU services that r ATW were SO jealous when they saw it! A 175 going to Piccadilly normally is jealous for the conductors of the DMU but a Virgin Vovayer!

  • but thats a totally different service.

ATW piccadilly - cardiff goes via Shrewsbury

Cross-country trains etc. go via Birmingham

  • Yes, but the announcement said Arriva Trains Wales service at Picc. Cross Country use Turbostars on the Cardiff services and they don't go to Manchester, they go to Nottingham and sometimes Newcastle.

  • ahh kk

  • How could they use a Pendolino for a journey to Cardiff? Don't tell me, they'll haul it with a 57 - that would be a sight to see down here lol.

  • I meant Voyager - I thought I said Voyager!!

  • Oh right lol - There's a return journey once a day Mon-Sat (I think) where you get a Voyager leaving Cardiff Central pretty early in the morning and then it returns around 2020. I see it quite often go past my window here in Newport - it always seems a bit lost as it's rather more modern looking than the rest of the trains round here!

  • Yeh. I think its the 07:00 to Newcastle. I saw a Voyager at Central at about 7 on Bank Holiday Monday in May (26th) ?? But wouldnt it be a Sunday service?

  • Just wondering if that Virgin voyager was the Brighton - Birmingham service of Holyhead/llandudno - Euston?

  • inagine if a women was ran over!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah definately. and the characteristic, thin windows are a great design. theres a certain coolness about the Pendolino, and im annoyed that all my recent train jounries have been on the Voyagers, even though my local station is on the WCML

  • Great design if you don't like seeing outside...

  • I don't mean it's great design in that sense. I mean that it looks neat.

  • Yeah they do look good from the outside to be fair.

  • And, what's that local train doing at 2:242:30 overtaking the pendolino??? Must be doing between 90 — 120 mph!!!

  • yh but tht was a class 321 so i think i was doin around 90-100

  • Ah. Thanks, mcmarga!

  • "some serious speed?" Hmm. the forst train is doing maybe 40-50 mph, and a lot of them are maybe passing at 80 mph; a few exceptions maybe 100-120 mph. "Serious speed?" TGVs have been operating regular passenger services at nominal speeds of 186 mph+ for years. UK is by far the latest, slow arrival to High Speed Rail in Western Europe.

  • good vid - that is some serious speed! :)

  • sorry ill take that back at the end!

  • theyre nt goin very fast

  • sounds like a constant stream of Tie-Fighers leaving the death star :) - Good Vid

  • superb vid m8

  • nice vid, love the sound they make when they pass at high speed.
