And for those: i think wow is much more addictive than heroine, crack or any other drug because it's way cheaper and still yet a lot more commonly accepted than a drug user. Though never the less, for parents or girlfriends or w/e, the only way to take these players some more time of the game is to show them how beautiful life outside can be. You will have to work for him/her, take him to his favorite movie or to an amusement parc, to the beach idk.

I've played wow for like 4 years, right when TBC came out, but even though my social life wasn't really good before, it still isn't now. Though, i was somewhat smarter than most people. I only played wow during my school holidays, primarely the 2 months summer holiday. Therefor my school results were hardly affected by my wow addiction back then but now, wow is getting too tedious for me. Now i merely play 1-2 characters anymore and just do some quests a day and somethimes raid, that's it

WoW isn't a social game at all. It's made so you can solo it, you even have the dungeon finder which you use to get random people to do dungeons with and then you will never play with them again, and soon the same thing will happen with raids.

LOL that must be why theres a chat bar, parties, trade, whispers, and real friend I.D.'s they only made dungeon finder to make dungeon running easyer before it would take much longer to find a group your level willing to go with you. Even with DF you still communicate with eachother in order to finish the dungeon, that's being social.

Lol WoW doesnt have violence, it has tactics, and strategy, and it takes skill to play. Instead of sitting on your ass and watching tv all day, stimulate your brain and thinking by playing this game, ppl think games are bad. I am an eve online player and I agree with a lot of points made. I play for many reasons...one I am shy in real world, two with my RL job any mistake can cost my company lots of money with eve losses are not as severe, in eve I can build and manage industry till my hearts content, in eve people talk to me, in eve no one cares what I look like, and what I do is appreciated, In RL you give someone thousands of dollars to help them pay bills then they fuss at you for eating some of their chips...

I'd like to say that people who complain about the graphics don't seem to realize that WoW came out in 2004. And the graphics were actually very good for a game of this type back then. It's still incredibly popular even today almost 7 years later, so it still brings in new players who haven't played it before, and again some of them complain about the graphics as if they were expecting 2011 graphics out of a 2004 game. Even now though, the game still looks ok and it's really not that bad at all.

I think MMORPGs and online communities are here to stay. I think this is just another thing people will have to deal with growing up. love the fact that you ppl who does not play wow can say "you should'nt play wow and that it's booring etc.. then when you ask them, what do you think wow is about? the answer is allways the same: well, you lvl up your character and you do quests... to you ppl i say.. YES, you got the whole picture there.. thats what i do during the time i spend playing wow.. congrats. there is so much to this game that you have to play it for some time to be able to say anything about it..

When i played wow in 6 months. Then i got addicted and I took a break before it would mess up my life for good. After the break i went back to wow. Have played now in 4 years or so. Not so much, i dont play everyday. i dont raid, do hc or anything. Im there for talking to my friends. and meet my online friends. I have also met around 12 people ive met in wow in reallife now. in 3 different countries. Wow can be bad, you just have to control yourself before it goes wrong.
