i got the d90 yesterday as a graduation gift im in love with it and hopefully it will be useful during my shitty high school years to come. Im still learning how to use it since i am an amateur.

The HD video is amazing and with a 4gb high speed sd card i can atleast get like 2 hours worth of footage.

Video is pointless because of the rolling shutter problem and only 24 fps which is ssllooww. Jiggly wiggly.

For video, pick a *real* camera like the Canon HF10/100.

Also, Canon 5D mark ii is an SLR with HD video in 30 fps without that heavy duty rolling shutter problem.

Hey! A really good review, thanks! I am choosing between the D90 and D300. I use the camera mostly for social events, sport events and low light conditions. Does the price of D300 make any difference in picture quality? I understand that D90 AF isn't the best, what are its flaws? Since I have to take usually pictures of people in action I rely on AF a lot, should that be the decisive factor in choosing the right camera? Also, the D90 video mode - is it hard to keep the image sharp? Thanks a lot!

i would like to hear your opinion. i am looking to buy my first DSLR. currently have a N80 with VR 24-120 lens. if i get a D90, should i be worried about the conversion ratio as i have a 35mm format lens? i would love the D700, but its too much. should i get the D90 or hold out longer and wait till Nikon comes out with a lower budget FX format camera? what other thoughts do you have on using my non DX format lens on this D90 DX body?

The 24-105mm lens will work fine on a dx body and it will give you good coverage but you might want to also buy a wide angle lens like the tokina 12-24mm. Dont wait for a low budget fx.
