  • Bought at guitar 3 years ago, then finally began to take some serious lesson half a year ago. I can only do simple(still wonderful) melodies like "Romance" and Tears in Heaven.

  • Great stuff!

  • Thanks Del, really great. What kind of guitar do you use here?

  • @raidereddie Martin 000 (1995) - i have it retrofitted with the Buzz Feiten shelf nut.

  • Great stuff Del. Gotta ask..... is that a price tag on yer hat, Mon? In the reflection in the mirror? (LOL) How much did ya pay?

  • @ChomFa - it was my son's hat... :-)

  • @delpuckett I have a theory, If you are a Master (at anything) you have the right to wear any hat you want. Look up Ronald Jenkees for further evidence. You sir, are a Master. :) Enjoy your hat.

  • @wingman0736 thanks for the kind words :-)

  • @wingman0736 nice.. ronald jenkees is one of my favorite impromptu piano/keyboard players dude... i love that man, and wish he would come back. send me a friend request bro lol...

  • will ferrel is a bad ass acoustic player! (just joking.. i know its not him lmao)

  • @delpuckett did he give it to you?

  • @BiggBiteProductions - i stole it for the video and then he went and lost it ...???

  • brilliant piece. i tried it on my guitar and snapped so i went to the music store to get a new string and got hit buy some guy on a bike - my knee is so sore right now, its unbelievable!

  • Excellent stuff mate!

  • what sorta guitar you playing there??? great tone for open stuff

  • @riccardorodriguez81 - Martin 000-R (1995)

  • oh and great playing by the way, really enjoyed it!

  • What is it with all these tab requests. Get your guitars out and play. Do you really expect this guy to sit down and write a tab?

  • He looks a little like Will Ferrell, doesn't he?

  • ohhh i love this...i wish that my left hand skills were as good as his!

  • This kicks ass Del.

  • Great music...i love this..

  • Fantastic stuff.... I think i'll be repeating everyone else, Tab??! or if thats not possible could you record some lessons on how to play it please?

  • Hey man this awesome I have been trying to get more practiced in DADGAD, is there anyway you have this tabbed out so that I could run through it?

  • great guitar playing ,excellent

  • If anyone has a tab for this pleeeease send it my way~!!!!!!!!!!

  • totally awesome man!!! cant wait to see some more

  • ohhhhh i like this alot

im likeing this. you play similar to me and what i want to become. ill be watching this over and over to imitate your style.

  • Great rhythm. The last chord you played was an interesting choice.

Oh btw, are you related to Mini Pearl? You got that price tag thing going on...

  • @McGuitarStar Haha I just seen that!

  • Well then, that was cool

  • which scales does this style of music use mostly? dorian and mixolidian?

  • mixolydia

  • wow nice man

  • del that just kicks it thanks.

  • wasnt white summer by jimmy page a rendition of an irish folk song?

  • White Summer's a rendition of "As she moved trough the fair",and Black Mountain Side's a rendition of Black Waterside.

  • You kind of look like will ferrel

  • thats i cool song.i deffo want to learn that. pretty much everthing thats played in that tunning sounds good

  • Hey, great stuff, especially the sound of the guitar, sounds like a martin to me, whichj specific model is it? well done again ;)

  • Fantastic, your ending chord cracked me up though. There's just something I find funny about a wonky jazz chord. Especially as there was nothing really jazzy about your piece, I still love it though.

  • While the jazz chord was unexpected; to me it was a pleasant surprise.

  • Yes, don't get me wrong, I do like the use of the chord, I just find those chords also tickle my funny bone haha.

  • Type "Arty McGlynn" into the search box and see what happens

  • he IS Will Ferrel lol

    great song

  • cool!

  • He looks a bit like Will Ferrell....

    great playing!

  • go hálainn ar fad

  • OMG i want to be you!!!

  • I'v never said this in my life but.... Tab?

  • ha i was thinking the same thing!

  • very beautiful !!!!!

  • amazing! 1/2 step off F# on the standard G string, would be oped D tuning , but it's left as it is to make a sus chord. He sounds like he's finger picking. (in parts) but it's the left hand freting combined with the open tuning. Might give it a try.

  • That is awesome! Well done! =D

  • lovely Del...very inspiring..

  • Very Nice.

  • Dsus4 tuning is a really great and underrated tuning, I think musicians should create a lot of their work in it.

  • Jimmy Page is one mainstream guitarist that springs to mind. Davy Graham 'invented' DADGAD in the 1960s and it soon got passed on to Mr Page. The rest is history...

  • That's fantastic, I gotta get back to trying that tuning again soon now that yo've showed some intersting possibilities

  • Awesome playing!

PS. Clip the tag off the back of your hat ;P

  • i love DADGAD you can do so much with it its fantastic and ur playing was jus outstanding

  • will farrel?

  • @spencerandres001 will ferrel and van morrison's love child

  • Beautiful!!

Do somebody has a transcription of this piece??

  • Amazing :)

You look a bit liek WIll Feral :D

  • I love this :D

  • sick dude... love the sound

  • Tab please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude, you are a true mofo. some people can just really play. aiiiiiiiiiight.

  • Ok so that was pretty amazing but do you know what would make it even better.....playing it really, really slowly. Oh and with the video zoomed in on the left hand. Just a thought ;o)

  • well you know its in the key of D, being its DADGAD, its really easy to figure out. i know what you mean though. for a second there ithouhgt you ment that it need to be played SLOWLY which that would be dumb because this is irish folky type of music, you dont play that slow. lol

  • A lot already told, but I can´t help.

    Awesome!

    5/5

  • ...boah i want to play to play to the guitar like u...

  • this is a very beautiful tune, i love your use of harmonics and pedal tones.

this might be a hassle asking this but could i get a tab for the first 1:30 of the song? if not the whole thing, that bit would be nice.

but if you can, could you send me the tab please?

  • I love that! I've tried it, but don't have it just yet. You are great!

  • i'm working on another DADGAD song (original) inspired by Andy Mckee. i'll post it in about a week. thanks

  • your crazy m8! i would give my life to play an Irish tune like that, no joke. Thanx for the great vid. Play on dude plaaaay on!

  • SICK BROOO< but you still have the tag on the back of your hat!

  • You are really friggin good. YouTube is a real gift to those like me trying to figure out how to play different songs. I love this song but could not even begin to play it. I have been playing for over 35 years and play almost every day. But I don't come near your talent, which really frustrates me. I guess some just have it and others don't.

  • man, i need that tab, i only have the first 20 second figured out

  • Too cool, ride on!

  • u make irish cool thanks grate stuff

  • As if being Irish wasn't already cool? Gotta love your heritage!

  • i could just sit here and watch u play guitar i lovin the style

  • pretty good.

  • Hey, how cool are you, blew me away, thanks, Michael

  • Cool!

  • played like a true champion wonderful job man

  • What kind of strings do you use?

  • D'Adarrios - 12's

  • good job man, can you put a lesson to some irish songs please

  • simply ACE !!!!

  • Well done mate...u make irish proud! =)

  • what song is it at0:43?

  • it's all original...

  • You don't happen to have tabs that I could get?

  • that was simply epic

im new to dadgad so i dont really know what im doing... lol

  • Ah ended on a jazz sounding chord!!!

You should have offered someone out for a fight to get that true authentic Paddy ending.

Put a match box on your shoulder and ask someone to knock it off is always a good way to start;)

I learnt a lot from this. I changed my tuning to dadgad yesterday and have worked out some Irish jig scales(once you get the rhythm

going there's no stopping) and some nice sounding one finger chords(are they a chord with one finger??) It makes the guitar seem easy.

  • glad to be of service - DADGAD will open up many a door. and YES!! those one finger chords are chords and they are AWESOME and very satisfying. great for kids as well.

  • wow

    talent lol

    amazed:D

  • Wow. Great job.

  • wow dude, AWESOME!!

  • I seriously though this was will farrell playing the guitar lol. Nice job man, its sounds awesome.

  • Awesome work man.

A tip, when you record in front of a mirror you really should take the tag off of your hat. lol

  • Wow, really shows what you can do with that tuning. Gotta get back to the woodshed

  • awesome !

  • Gorgeous played!!!
