  • god now has him a good jazz player in his band of angels

  • What a treat Pops. I really enjoyed your vintage video. I know I've said it before but there's nothing better than that airy sound of a hollow bodied electric guitar. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Nice versions of FLY ME TO THE MOON and SATIN DOLL.

    ~Ron

  • @EastEndPipes Thanks for watching Ron.

    Pops

  • That's some mighty fancy pickin' there. Who's the beautiful drummer?

    Best,

    Bill

  • @PipeDreamsInc Thanks Bill. The drummer was my second wife.

    Pops

  • Wow! Fantastic technique! I wish you would discuss your history as a musician on one of your videos. Make it a long one, and come clean! :-)

  • @dafarce Watch my older video titled "The Long Trail Begins".

    Pops

  • Thanks Olle.

    Pops

  • Great Pops

    Take care.

    Olle

  • Very nice! Your sure could move pretty quickly around the frets!

    Ken =)

  • @Charredbriar Thanks for watching Ken.

    Pops

  • @OldNorthernSmoky Thanks for watching.

    Pops

  • Wow. Now we know who the whitestripes copied :)

  • @41DegreesSouth You are the second person to compare this video to whitestripes. I must plead ignorance because I don't have a clue they are. Thanks for watching.

    Pops

  • @oldpipepops Haha don't worry they've already broken up lol. They were a cool two piece band guy playin guitar and gal playin drums. Blues disguised as (sometimes hard) rock :)

  • @oldpipepops Haha that comment "That was no lady, that was my wife" reminds me of those Time Life books "The Old West Series" commercial I'd always see as a kid on the T.V. There was a line "That was no lady, thats Belle Starr" Hahah. Your 2nd must of been a character lol. I think I remember that one because my dad always would say we were related to her. Man, she was ugly and I hate to take pride in that. LOL. I think I can hear a chorus pedal and some delay or reverb.

    James

  • @astroman2112 That line "That was no lady, that was my wife" is an old Henny Youngman one liner joke. Yep, I used all of those effects and more. They're hard to hear on that video, but I was thumping moog base pedals too.

    Pops

  • @oldpipepops Whoa! Those moog pedals were cutting edge technology back then, I think along the lines of the Taurus pedals. I know a lot of the progressive rock musicians like Yes and Rush were using them back then to create a fuller sound. Really cool to hear the jazz musicians were using them.

    Great stuff sir.

  • @OldStylePipeSmoker Ah...yes, a little sax would be nice. Thanks.

    Pops

  • Wow Pops, you can rip! Thanks for sharing.

    Pops

  • Wow! Dig that tone! Some smooth runs there Pops! Great technique. Love the elevator bit! Haha. I'd love to know when this video was shot? I'd guess Mid late 70's? Beautiful guitar too and that lady can play them skins too! Thank you for sharing sir.

    Cheers,

    James

  • @astroman2112 As best I can remember it was shot around 1978 or 9. I used a lot of effects back then. "That was no lady, that was my wife". LOL My 2nd wife, that is. Thanks for watching, James.
