2 things to keep in mind. Depending on how early you go to the library in your school & the efficiency of the library itself. You may be able to use the rent the corresponding required course books from the library at your college. This doesn't work with all your courses btw as some professors require the books use during lecture but you could save some money if you are able to photocopy the pages that you need for assignments for books you don't use during lecture.
Mooty, question do you have any pokemon catchers, ability gothitelle, FA Reshiram, or the kyurem left? How much do you want for them? What kind of payment do you accept? I think to make the trading alot easier for everyone since people like me look for specific cards you should put all your cards into a binder or binders and organize them by type, or by the national dex, or by rarity. Lasty, buy college books on ebay/amazon, you can get your books for alot cheeper but you have to wait on them.

Do you by chance have the Pikachu or Meowth from the B/W series? If you do, those cards are extremely rare collector's cards, and can sell for a lot of money.
@PyroDude16 That would be easy if the closer card shop wasn't a half hour drive :( at that point I'll bet the cards will just cancel out with gas :( I'll try the list thing though.
If you plan to sell your cards, I would suggest making a list, and posting it and your facebook/twitter as well, also try doing deals with your local Collectible/Card Shops in your city :} it is REALLY hard to find serious buyers, try to just low cut from prices from websites or best offers, GL :}
