  • random foal in the stall? or hers?

  • Aww

glad shes okay you must of been teriffied :O

    very happy ending :d xx

  • @horsesarecutee

No-actually I wasn't -very upset-Yes, but not terrified-we were on vacation & I got "THE" phone call. Not much I could do.

    thanks

  • Poor horse.Is she okay now???Hope so <3

  • awww:( she looks so sad:( hope shes better soon x

  • I'm happy to hear shes doing well. I have a mare that went thru a barbwire fence and had to have the extensor muscle removed.... well, a nine inch section of it anyways. I was never able to ride her after that but she is a happy brood mare/pasture buddy now. :)

  • HAHAHA I love how she bites the colt! She like "Do you really think I am in the mood th elet you nurse?!?" Poor baby we had a 2 month old palomino filly break her hind leg and she was in a cast forever!! She was a very playful thing though

  • just wondering how did she get into barbed wire, if you don't have it?

  • @HotFudgeRide

I only have hotwire or panels-while I was on vacation. The mare got out & our neighbors down the road did have old barbed wire that was down in their field (it has since been removed). I don't mind questions (really). Its just when someone offers advice off the cuff (when they don't know the whole story-that HAS been posted)-its irritating.

  • @ssaustin4

aww okayy... I am soo sorry,is she okay now?

  • @HotFudgeRide

Yes look at my other videos-she's doing well. Had 2 babies since this colt (who's 3 now).

  • @ssaustin4 oo okayyy verry cut e:)

  • @ssaustin4 thats great :DD glad shes ok :DD shes gorgeous :D x

  • I hope your horse is better but never have barbed wire around horses, ponies, and young foals.

  • @Indianhorselover13

try reading the posts-I DIDN'T have barbed wire.

  • Poor girl:( I hope she is alright. Is that her baby?

  • Look at my other videos-that accident was 2 1/2 yrs ago. That colt is now 2 1/2yrs old.

  • Poor girl. I know how scary that is, I had a horse that tryed to jump through a barbed wire fence, it was terrible and scary

  • Was hat das arme Tier gemacht? was ist passiert?

  • Es war ein Stacheldrahtunfall

  • aww bless what happend to her and that foal is soo cute x bless her x

  • UPDATE ON LEAH-she had a colt April 25, 2009-mom & baby are doing fine-will post a video of the 2 of them soon

  • my name is Leah :[) It was cute when she nipped at the foal

  • aww poor little mare. But I'm sure she was in great hands.. WSU is awesome. Hope shes doing great!

  • She's due to foal out middle of next month. She has no clue that she's missing any muscle-she's the boss of the pasture.

  • Is she ok now??? i hope so....

  • Is she 100% recovered now?

  • Look at my "Leah 3 months post injury" That's as good as it gets.

  • Ok =] Good luck to you and your people/horses x]

  • poor horse :(

  • i will cry for horse

  • No need to-she's recovered well. She's due to foal in April

  • that's great i hope she never gets in something like that again, good luck with the foal!

  • Hopefully not-the neighbors have removed their downed wire. Thanks, I'm really enjoying her foal in the video-he's pretty awesome.

  • hope she is doing better hun..I had a gelding with a bad barbwire injury on his hind leg all the way down to the bone.

  • Is she still getting used to the cast?

  • That wasn't a cast-just a 2 X 4 with wrapping-she only had that on about a week-go to my other videos & see her progress.

  • What happened?

  • oh poor baby! that really sucks to see a horse like that im so sorry! T.T

  • She'd gotten out of my pasture while we were on vacation & got into barbed wire in a neighboring place.

Look at my 3 month out video of her-she's recovered wonderfully. We are now over a year out & she is pregnant & gets around great (which includes running, bucking, rearing, anything that a "normal" horse does in the pasture-she just drags that leg just a bit. I do keep a shoe on that one hoof to keep it from being overly worn.

  • omg im so glad shes fine, my horse just had stitches out 3 weeks ago due to a stall accident but im now riding her!!!

  • they had to remove the leg?

  • No-she has all four legs-they had to remove a muscle out of one of the legs

  • wht happen to her???

  • She got out of our pasture while we were on vacation & got into the neighbor's barbed wire-her extensor carpi radialis muscle (forearm) was down to her pastern-it wasn't able to be saved-they had to surgically remove it. She also severed her extensor tendon. She's doing awesome now & is in foal for a 2009 baby. Look at my other video that shows her 3 months post injury. Pretty amazing-I think.

  • ooohhhhh wow that must of been hard and i will look at that video :D

  • no problem

  • Im glad shes doin better!!!!!

  • Thanks

  • That is why we don't have barbed wire fences...but I really hope she gets/got better. She is such a beautiful horse.

  • I don't have barbed wire fences-we were on vacation & she'd gotten out of our fence & got into the neighbor's barbed wire fence. (they've since taken down most of their barbed fence).

  • Oh well good. I am happy to know she got better. What all happened with her?

  • She injured her radialis muscle and it was hanging to her fetlock. They had to surgically remove it. She also severed the extensor tendon-She just had surgery again about 3 weeks ago to remove a "bone spur" of sorts from her injured leg. She's doing great.

  • How is she doing now? My horse severed her extensor tendon on the right rear 2 1/2 weeks ago. Thank you for sharing info about your horse.

  • she's doing really well (look @ my Leah 3 months post right leg injury video). On a (somewhat) side note she went into surgery again on thurs-she'd been having abscess issues-always in the same place-anyway-it was from a "bone spur" of sorts-not as dense as regular bone, but that was the source of the abscesses-I should pick her up this week.

  • i agree with baileyflys

  • aww bless

  • Awe. What a trooper!

  • ohh i so agrreee

  • She's not "perfectly fine" but in my other video-she moves better than many horses with 4 good legs. Have you seen the other video? It happened on July 6th. We are just 7 weeks out. Yes, that was her colt-he's weaned now. He wasn't injured. She's an amazing little mare.

  • Yeah,

    i saw the others.

    She's definitly an amazing

    mare!

  • We're now fighting an ongoing absess-deep. Possibly from the remnant of her extensor tendon. When we get a break in the weather-I'll take her back to WSU for an ultrasound & they may need to do surgery again to remove the tendon that's left (if that's the issue) Thanks for your comments by the way ;-)

  • Oh no, thats a bummer!

    I wish you luck!!!

  • That must have been devastating. I'm so sorry.

  • It was at the time, but I'm thrilled at her recovery!! This whole thing showed me how blessed I am with the friends & family I have-they've been incredible!

  • She she is perfectly fine now? Or when did this happen? I'm guessing that is her foal by her side also..? It is amazing that she is up and walking even in this video a day after it happened.
