It's the impurities in the air upon which clouds form. All smoke is deleterious to health, as is hypothermia to people who do not possess wood-burning stoves!!!

Have a cousin, with an underground house, who switched out a wood stove for a gas burner. His heating costs went up about 500%. There are wood stoves with secondary burn capabilities that are more efficient, and retro fits for older stoves so they will burn better, over all. I used to clean carpets, and the houses that burned gas always had a dirt film around the registers.

the thing that came to mind when i saw the evil man torching the old stove door was Pulp Fiction when the big black guy said he was going to get a couple of brothers with pipe fitter torches down here to do a number on this guy. ruining a beautiful old stove consuming all that energy in the process while he trys to save the world seems really really stupid.
