thank you for posting this vid.i hope more vids,of our culture, will appear on youtube with a refreshed twist bcuz we all have some unthinking to do.mankind tainted the past but we're able to show our people some different ways of thinking by putting info out there and not just for febuary but everyday
Very nice video, but why did you come out with this video the same time Red Tails came out. This video should have been put out a long long long time ago.
I've just recently started doing black women in history on my channel. (New Year - New Channel topics) What better time to add Miss Braggs to the list other than now?
Thank you for this video. I have mentioned Ms.Bragg on a forum and was attacked by a lot of what I believe to be black male rights activists. LoL
I don't believe black women are trying to compete with black men necessarily, we just don't want our achievements to be ignored. Like you said Sahbi we live in a sexist society that is drenched in patriarchal values - which is why (I believe) men feel threatened or challenged by a woman that doesn't "know her place" if you will.
i dont mind hearing bout bw who got busy in history but considering ur last video on red tails JESUS CHRIST! Yall that jealous and salty that BM got to be heroes in a big flick, not be portrayed in a bunch of negative stereotypes and do something positive?????? goddamn.......and the magazines wonder why and how black love died......
Its not about being salty. (I'm telling the truth.) I'm sorry if bm are offended, but im just as offended when they attack my video with racist male chauvinist points of views. Oncea again I admire any man that walks and talks like a man....i stand beside him, but never beneath him.
Andsanp, MurcusinHd...I hear you guys.(I really do) But this is not to compete with black men, this is to prove*response* to the negroes that don't believe bw had involvement in almost every story told in history. We hear about the Tuskegee airmen, but we NEVER hear about the black women in flight. (Little girls need to be inspired too.) Keep in mind, no one can outshine the Tuskegee airmen accomplishments...they achieved their reputation because of their own actions.
@Sahbisun Here is the disturbing thing about all of this: Black women use to be inspired by "black people" period. But, now EMPHASIS has been placed on gender instead of culture. Why is that? "BLACK GIRLS ROCK"??? It use to be "Black Power". It is becoming more and more apparent that Black women are placing themselves as a black man's adversary rather than their companion. And it has personal made me subconsciously take a defensive stance toward black women And I'm sure I'm not alone
- Black women still are inspired by (some) black people. Look at all of the women on youtube that has gone back to cultural african centered hairstyles and fashion. I don't believe Black Girls Rock is based on emphasizing ones gender. IMO it boils down to standing up to a society that seems to have forgotten that we have worth at all. As a collective(bm/bw) we use to say "Im black and Proud", now I hear bm saying " Im most desired." bw Saying "She rocks." War of the roses?
Can black men do anything without a black woman trying to compete with them? I dislike this subliminal power struggle thing in relationships and everything else.
....thinking about your statement. We live in a sexist soceity, everything is competion pretty much. Also, we wonder why little girls act like boys...maybe its because we see to often the greatness of men, but never the greatness of black women. I don't wanna grow up and be like Mike, I wanna be like Leslie....its just a thought.
Sometimes I wish ppl could have open and honest conversation without making it into a penis -vagina envy situation. Maybe its something bigger than that going on?
@Sahbisun its about pride so be proud to be black and be proud to be a women and work on that and you will come into your divine true power !!!!! girls acting like boys are like a bird acting like a bull the bird will never learn how to fly because its acting like a Bull its whole life
yeah, black women want to be men, it's as simple as that to me. sahbisun talking about little girls need role models as well, please! everything, and i mean everything geared to the betterment of black youth is usually for black girls/women. so she can miss me with that bullshit she's spouting. it all boils down to competition, and these women want to beat their men.
Stop being so bitter. A bw can't even post about historical women without somone getting their PANTIES in a knot! If you wanna post about men you are free to do so. I know I've posted plenty of stories about BM only to get very minimum views from bm. Now I change gears, you wanna act all attention deprived. Everything is not a competition....everything is not about bm. You gender war addicts make me so fucken sick with that bs. (U can miss me with that!)
...also, do I need to take my video off private..the one about URBAN PREP ACADEMEDY!? (It's all male school for African Amerians.) Infact, I shall do so. Just to prove how out of control and paranoid you are. You can't stand for women to get a little bit of shine...that's what's wrong with the our damn community too. Always that one nut in the bunch bringing drama where it is not needed. Maybe you want the vagina? (They say "he who points the finger needs to pull back on the thumb"!)
GREAT VIDEO:+)
