In addition... Chicago has so may issues. Look at all the dirty politicians, especially the recent criminal Gov. of ILLINOIS Blogo. I believe Chicago had a decent shot until Obama went there. The US had by far the weakest presentation. Rio had an awesome 3D animated rendering of their plans. Michelle spoke of watching Carl Lewis on her father lap. Carl Lewis is only 3 years older than Michelle... WTF??? The O's spoke of wishes and dreams, the others spoke of plans and solutions for such a huge task. Our presentation was a Joke and an embarrasment. Yeah, I'm happy the IOC voted against Chicago, who wasted almost $50 on the 2016 bid. This is money that could've been used elsewhere in that troubled city. Obama didn't cause Chicago to be elimintaed, the IOC looked at the city and it was an easy decsion. The USA has had the Olympics twice since 1996, so Chicago didn't stand a chance. The IOC president vowed to spread the olympic movement to other parts of the world, and Brazil was the clear choice in that matter.

Right, but the Olympics have been in the USA twice since 1996, and all the chaos (in more ways than one) going on in Chicago, probably swayed the voters. Chicago can't even protect it's children, stop the corruption, homelessness, unemployment and more. Without question crime is worse in Rio, but the USA didn't present a united commitment to hosting the games. There was so much opposition. And look at how Chicago has been in the news recently. The IOC places a lot of emphasis on children, so watching these kids act as savages in the USA probably didn't help. Also, the USA has had the Olympics twice since 1996, so Chicago didn't stand a chance with that in mind. Now, let Chicago tend to it's streets and corruption.

I'm amazed it won it it must be heavily based on South America never having hosted the games and the US having two olympics in the last 25 years and a winter one recently. This is not a good time for children in the U.S., and the world is watching. The I.O.C. really pays attention to children in the world and in cities that wish to host the Olympic Games. During Atlanta's Bid, the city's children played an important part in winning the bid for the '96 games. I doubt that the IOC voters were please with children running wild & killing each other in Chicago (and throughout the USA). It's a sick reality in America.
