Don't complain too much friends. Pashupatinath may not be town now. But in 54 it might have been a complete another town without buses, taxis and all those motorbikes. When I was a kid, even samakhusi felt like another town. I am also very happy to see old clips. Thanks to the uploader.

I got chance to see my country of 56 years back. I cant believe it was like that.a bunch of thanks to the up-loader. It is uploaded just 2 years ago. please upload more videos if you have. You may have a good day.
just because the traditions and cultures of Nepal are strange to westerns does not mean it is "savage" or "uncivilized". The place is in fact religiously & culturally very rich. The view point of the documentary makers is truly derogatory. I hope people can learn that our differences are our heritage and not our setbacks.
wonderful to see Bhasa surge a different place now, Kathmandu brilliant city. Would have Loved to of had see it like this. and Mmm! Khukuri Rum. I hope I go again some day.....
3:36 "ah a perfect fit" lol very funny. 4:17 we should bring that tradition into western world 5:09 not a silly idea either - not too keen on 5:25 though! lol
@somanshrestha ...listen to the commentary more carefully. the guy repeats the word "primitive" several times. He also uses the word "savage", although once.
@markelruso Back then it was primitive, I am Nepali and i heartily agree with that because to westerners back then they would seem primitive. I bet if you go to certain part of Africa now and not help calling them primitive.
assume it as antique film..nice!

Beautiful art. some of the nepalese live in USA as refugees. We treat them well and enjoy them in our church. Great people.

land of savagery, my ass. If this was someone in the current time doing such misinformed commentary, I wouldn't hesitate to punch the guy's face.
Atleast got to see the old beautiful KTM without the influence of all the commercialism and westernisation.
