@poopieflys He wrote "Not Penny's Boat". Penny was dating Desmond (the guy on the other side of the door) and they thought she was coming to rescue them. The men on the boat were bad (they threw the grenade through the window) and Charlie was warning Desmond so he could escape. If I remember correctly. :)

@eVaNdaguitar If he hadn't died the "picture on the box" would have changed. Like when Desmond saved Charlie in Catch 22 from dying, the parachuter became Naomi instead of Penny. If Charlie had not let himself die then Aaron never would have gotten off the island. It doesn't make a whole lotta sense, but that is what the reasoning behind it is suppose to be. Plus Charlie was going to die anyway, if not in the Looking Glass Station, then it would have been at some other point (course correction).

@eVaNdaguitar What everyone is forgetting is that Desmond could see the future and kept on foreseeing the death of Charlie- Charlie accepted that it was his destiny to die and sacrificed his life to save the others on the island.

@eVaNdaguitar If you watch again you'll notice the door only locks from the inside. If he ran through the door and shut it, the water pressure would push the door open and they'd all be screwed.

As far as Jurrasic Bark goes, that episode destroyed me emotionally for many reasons, not the least of which is that I was not at ALL expecting something so emotional from Futurama. I think different people are affected in different ways by sad things and I also think it is a very arrogant, (not to mention rude), to think you have the right to dictate what people respond emotionally to. What is wrong with you?

for everybody watching and doesnt know the whole story behind charlie dying, he closed the door so that he would die. the scottish guy, desmond could see flashes of the future, and he kept seeing charlie dying. he kept saving him. but this time, charlie knew that this was his destiny. and as a main character since day one, it was a pretty sad moment for everybody.

@dontheunderdog not only that, but he did it because desmond's incentive to get off the island was to see penny, but he wasn't sure if she were still alive. charlie saw penny on the monitor and realized that she was still alive, and he didn't want desmond to die with him.
