That was beautiful! She really deserved a medal in the finals. She had the dance and the tumbling.

The funny thing is that Myzdrikova is one of the least artistic Russian gymnasts and yet she can dances circles around most gymnasts today! ;-D

That tells a lot about the level of Russian choreography and ballet training.

I love her dance, stuck landings, and how she seems to land in the same that she takes off from in her tumbling. How did she not medal?? :(

She landed really low on her 3 pass and left out the stag leap out of it, BUT her double arabian was PERFECT (knees glued together, stuck landing) and so were her triple twist-back tuck and double pike. Call me biased, but I think she was underscored! Her only deductions were on the 3rd tumbling run!

And they didn't consider a double turn = -0.2 in A score

No, I agree about the deductions, but I still think - or wish - it should have been enough for a medal. :)

but those were some SEVERE deductions

2-1/2 - crossed legs -0.1

front 1/2 - lack of height -0.1; legs apart -0.1; low landing -0.3; legs apart landing -0.1; step to the side -0.3

then take into account the not so great dance elements (tour jete 1/2, double attutude, double L turn, switch leap 1/2) and she's pretty deep in the hole

I meant the only deductions on the tumbling. Of course she also crossed her legs on the triple spin and her back tuck was a bit off. Her spin in attitude was correct and all the way round, but her spin in horizontal wasn't, which is probably why she didn't get credit for it. I'm not saying she deserved gold, but that she could have scored a couple of tenths higher.

Very clever routine. I love how she stag jumped out of the 3rd pass, no deductions for that landing :) Surprised she only scored 14.500! I think she should have atleast scored 14.600 or more! :D Good luck for her tomorrow!
