Couldn't you add a similar function as Nitrotracker, where you can import samples and record samples on the fly with the built in mic?

Hey CinemaxGames.. suggestion? dont know if its too late for the rock version BUT, it would be great if a future version of Rytmik had a shift option left/right. Great for continuing a melody from another clip. I think its a great and much needed element. This is what limited me in my song for this contest in a way. Time consuming and confusing to manually shift notes. What do you think?

@amorphml Say you layed out a melody with 5 keys/notes. Now timing isnt exactly right, so you want to move all the notes to the left or right one or two spaces. There was a couple times where i found myself doing it manually. I would have to visually memorize the key i used erase it move it over one by one for all the notes i had in that clip. To shift they could probably use the select button and left or right or a tiny arrow above the notes position or something. Just throwin out suggestions.

@CyXBeAtZ it simply switches polyphony on or off. In monophonic mode you have only one audio channel for your instrument and so its notes cannot overlap. In polyphonic mode more audio channels are assigned dynamically as needed and so instrument notes may overlap. The difference is audible for example with longer lead instruments.

btw. it seems that I found a way how to implement your suggestion and it will be present in next Rytmik edition after the Rock Edition;)

@amorphml YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! :P You RoCK!!!! and GREAT explanation! I figured it out shortly after i posted and heard exactly what you said. Even without echo, if you have poly on, it elongates the note and with another note closeby they can overlap, making the instrument sound 'full' and not mono or dry.

I think Koishistyle deserved to win because it's just a better, more professional-sounding song. My opinion, yes, but it seems like a lot of people using Rytmik or other audio software on the DS to make music think that because they're using a game system, their music needs to sound that way. But CyXBeAtZ worked his ass off to promote his video, so it's great that he was able to get so much support.

@GXSCChater Yes, this is exactly my point. Someone entering a talent contest should not have to market to get votes. This seems to make the actual entry pretty irrelevant. So my song may be great, but because I don't market it, or push all my friends to "like" it, it may not even place. Hey everybody! I don't know a thing about this YouTube marketing, and I don't know too many people who have YouTube accounts. I was under the impression that people who listen to my song can "like" it whether or not they are part of some "network." Out of 52 views, I've got 5 likes. What is the stance on running the DS through something for some effects? That is really the only thing I could think to add to the software, and I plan on running the audio from my DS through my Electribe for effects, but I just want to clarify if that's allowed for the contest.

Look at the votes of CyXBeAtZ 's latest video. Is cheating at this contest possible? CyXBeAtZ has got only around 170 views but 37 votes yet!!! Most of the participants of the 1st (and it seems also at the 2nd) rytmik contest needed hundreds of views to get maybe 20 or 30 votes, even when they have/had many subscribers and great songs. Is it really possible that a person gets 37 votes within a couple of hours with just making good/average music, 10 youtube friends and only 4 subscribers?

I re-made the Super Mario Bros. track, to show proof that I made it. I really liked the look I had before, and it's sad that I had to re-upload this. I don't know who reported it(or whatever) but whoever they are, they don't have a good ear. Anyone could tell the differences from the original song(look it up on youtube) and mine, if you listen closely. There is no percussion-y rhythm in mine, and some parts are different when Rytmik couldn't go as low as I needed.

well you could just record your DS playing the song. But if you want good quality you'll need to get a cable called: 3.5mm Audio cable (male to male). Once you have the cable you'll need a program called "Audacity," which is free online, and use it to record the song as it plays through your PC. Then just make a video out of it using the recording.

I like metalkrapo's video, but is it fair to use it at the contest? And if it's ok to use a guitar for the contest, it also would be fair to use additional synthesizers!
