Kobe is overrated. He is not even close to Michael Jordan. His Efficiency is one of the worst in NBA history, he is a ball hog, hes an asshole, talks shit, gets booed by his own city, and the only reason he scores alot is because he gets the ball to much. Lebron has had better D than Kobe since then, no doubt. Everything said by these former players and "experts" is all dickriding, and popular opinion on Kobe. Kobe and Lebron are both extremely overrated. Kobe never passes when he needs to. He always goes for the buzzer beaters when he is triple team but won't pass the ball so he can have the glory himself. Not to mention Kobe blew it in the playoffs against the Mavericks in 2011. Ever since the end of 06-07 season Kobe has regressed significantly on the defensive end of the floor. Age, mileage, and injuries have finally caught up to him. These all defensive player awards he has gotten over the last couple of years have been based on his reputation over the past years. The Kobe Bryant of now has to conserve his energy wisely through a entire game so he doesn't get fatigued that is why the Lakers have Ron Artest and Matt Barnes guarding opposing stars.

Remember he was playing free safety that whole series yes sometimes Rondo got through the cracks but he did damage on the C's offense and if you watch game 7 closely you will see what Kobe did defensively. I think what happen is lebron stands out on the defense end by his chasing down player at the basket for block shots , and kobe mostly strips the ball from players on defense end. sometimes he chase down players.

Dwyane Wade is the best player in the game hands down. Allen isnt vintage Ray-Ray when you get your hand up, no matter what your height is. & all but two games he was struggling anyway. Pierce was perfectly guarded my Artest most of the series, so why put Artest on the quicker Rondo?

@BeefPapa Not all coaches will be good judges of defense. Some of them are focused on offense and let their assistants handle D. Some will be biased for/against certain players. Some will look at stats alone instead of actually WATCHING the players defend. Some of them probably don't give a crap about the awards and just vote whoever comes to mind - valuing reputation over the actual results of the season. Some coaches are just BAD - which is a big reason why coaches are always getting fired.

Remember he was playing free safety that whole series yes sometimes Rondo got through the cracks but he did damage on the C's offense and if you watch game 7 closely you will see what Kobe did defensively. When he gets in the lane, he's at his deadliest bc he can finish and pass very well & he'll just pick apart your whole defense. Fisher even playing back cant guard that while Kobe can. Allen isnt vintage Ray-Ray when you get your hand up, no matter what your height is. & all but two games he was struggling anyway. Pierce was perfectly guarded my Artest most of the series, so why put Artest on the quicker Rondo?

@Freshustle Why do you think he's overrated? There may be some people who overrate him, but that's the case with everybody. He doesn't seem, generally speaking, to be overrated. That's just my humble opinion. But I'm just a fan.

@KrfNYC2 Because Kobe has not had one season in his entire 15 year career where he shot 50%. Kobe is a volume shooter, the more he chucks, some thing is bound to go in right? thats his mind set, he has a rep of being the NBA's best closer but he shoots worst than LeBron. Kobe's 36 for 115 in gamewinning shots. His defense is completely overrated, in this era of basketball is you don't have steals and blocks you're not effective on D. This era's defense is overrated period.

@Freshustle But his carer percentage is 45.4 which doesn't seem so bad. As for defense, I don't know. I haven't paid very close attention to that. But if he is overrated it may be in the sense that someone says he's top 10 all-time and he's not or someone says that he's the best Laker ever and he's not (I'm not saying he is or is not anything) But you wouldn't deny that he's one of the greatest of all-time, would you? I would imagine he's up there.

@BeefPapa Not all coaches will be good judges of defense. Some of them are focused on offense and let their assistants handle D. Some will be biased for/against certain players. Some will look at stats alone instead of actually WATCHING the players defend. Some of them probably don't give a crap about the awards and just vote whoever comes to mind - valuing reputation over the actual results of the season. Some coaches are just BAD - which is a big reason why coaches are always getting fired.

There will no be a doubt that d.howard is the best help side defender because of his height and position. so next who has the best all around def on SG position? it is D'wade no doubt
