  • Is hers in a different key than the original?

  • EXTRAORDINARIO

  • She's not only a world class beauty, but elegant and smart beyond belief... making it nearly impossible to meet her, lest spoil the dream. She transends generations like Sidney Potier did in his prime. At least, 'has the chance to' in my humble opinion. Wow is she brilliant... just heard her for first time from Laguna Beach on ARTS channel!!

  • tree

  • if it wasn't for you... i would not even know sarah chand exists.... too beautiful for words... I would just breath and allow my chi to flow out to the universe

  • HLQ,UR GAY....and loving it

  • she is brilliant.

  • Beautifully arranged and performed. Sarah is an immense artist, not just a virtuoso :-)

The solo piano original version to hear is by Alexis Weissenberg, search YT for "Weissenberg - Chopin - Posthume" :-)

  • I First heard about Sarah Chang in a music course I took back in 1999 at SUNY Rockland. All I remember is the music teacher explaining to us that Sarah Chang was a Virtuoso. We watched her and listened to her back then. I don't know why this little girl's name has stuck in my mind but after all these years today I looked her up on You Tube for the heck of it. Wow how she has blossomed into a beautiful woman! The way she plays is still flawless. What a great human being to society! Lol! I wonde

  • Sarah Chang is extremely gifted and born with great genetics... bone structure beauty... wonder if her heart is just like she exists with her violin? I love it too much

  • simply the soul touching music. she is best.

  • Very great interpretation. She has an adorable skill. A great sound on her vilolin.Thank you so much for sharing.

  • I only started playing the violin March of 2011. She's an inspiration. Bravura!

  • Sarah...Come to this mountain forest lakeside cabin in northern california to live with me. Let us compose music together in the cool moist air of the winter, your violin singing across the basin. Bring your Viola too. In summer the fun begins, wild untamed.

  • bellissimo!!!

  • exquisite.

  • what version of Nocturne is this... i cant find the sheet mucic to it.. i only found Nocture in Eflat and it has diffrent notes

  • @YessiNaomy C sharp minor i think

  • @mari058 thnkss.. yeah i found out later after google lol but thnks

  • Bravo!

  • (frisson)

  • I find this song so sad, it is sadder than Rezso Seress - Gloomy Sunday

  • im sure it was hours of hard work and parents pushing her like crazy

  • such a poignant yet beautiful piece of music. decadently brimming with emotions :)

i like this version of sarah chang :)

  • She is MY baby! MINE!! Lol!!! She is an incredible woman.

  • forces of good converge, heavenly apparent vibes. I can reach out and touch it.

  • The chubby little duckling turned into a beautiful swan.

  • Bravissimo! I was just enchanted by this wonderful music! This is the music that is intended for the soul.

  • Fabuleu cet musique Good for ever music

  • what opus and movement is this? I have to know!!!!! anyone, please!!!

  • absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed her playing immensely.

  • I WISH CHOPIN COULD HAVE HEARD HIS MUSIC LIKE THIS - SINCE HE WROTE IT FOR PIANO.

  • @ chpnlzt: Hey lighten up dude. you know nothing about me. I have not told you I am an atheist. Remember: don't judge. I think Jesus laughed on that one. Don't judge just because I don't fit in your judeochristian box.

  • It would be nice if some people did not respond. Just enjoy listening to beautiful playing.

  • "LoL"

  • I was talking about genetic manipulation ( your comment concerning food supply) I am well aware of Mendel but you can't seem to follow your own thread--hopeless! go make some moonshine-hill folk.

  • Simply Angelic. This beautiful soul was born to play this instrument. Thank You God for sharing her with the rest of us.

  • O my me -3 =p

  • Why don't all of you with negative comments just STFU (shut the fuck up) and listen to this beautiful music (as was intended).

  • @texbear21 Why don't YOU leave the people who make negative comments alone? Why do you think that people don't have the right of Freedom of Speech? Perhaps you'd like to burn the U.S. Constitution & censor the Internet like the Chinese government does. AND WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO USE PROFANITY ON A PUBLIC FORUM?

  • @unclejuniorsoprano oh STFU. dickheads like you ruin enjoyment of everything

  • @texbear21 You are unable to reply with an intelligent comment. Instead, you have to reply from the gutter. You are definitely no lady. You probably have tattoos & smoke a lot of pot. As for genetics, our entire source of food production is based on it.

It does not use to try & reason with someone who's either stupid of intoxicated. One of these days you will be in a 12 Step program, if you haven't been already. I imagine that you are not financially independent & never will be.

  • @unclejuniorsoprano I get tired of trying to reasons with pricks. You are like the rest of the idiots on here--making assumptions without a coherent reason. You are the one that needs the 12 step program. No tatts,no piercings no pot, and I am financially independent. So wrong on all counts moron. Genetic manipulation has been around for at least 40 years. I thought we were talking about human intelligence-of which you seem to have very little. Cabeza de mierda. Se comprende joto?

  • @texbear21 You obviously have reverence for your Uncle Junior by the way you never fail to respond. As for genetics, it's been around much longer than 40 yrs. Didn't they ever teach you about Mendel at public school? Why do doctors always ask about one's genetic background? I've given you too much academic information for your obstinate brain to digest. PL 94-142 & IDEA were legislated for individuals like you. Usted es imposible!

  • This is Nocturne in c-sharp minor, Op. posthumous by Frédéric Chopin (originally written for piano, of course). To my knowledge, it doesn't have any other identifying numbers or titles.

  • This is beautiful. But what i really want to know what is the full name of this piece?

  • Lol squirrel

  • Voici une preuve que le paradis peut se trouver sur cette Terre.

  • this version must be the video or from an earlier album. on her sweet sorrow album, the key was original. however, this one is great as well :)

  • Classical people are just the worst kind of music snobs.

Animals As Leaders, Muse, Lupe Fiasco, Immortal Technique, Deamau5, Daft Punk, Chopin, And Bach are a must for me every day.

  • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I just posted my interpretation of Nocturne opus 9 ,No.2. I would appreciate your comments. Please click on my link 'alfonsopablo' next to this comment to listen.

  • God i love this

  • fantastic..

  • I wasn't sure why not in C sharp minor also.. Still, sounds very nice..

  • looks like the recording came out in the wrong key signature, thats not c sharp minor

  • Is this the Nathan Milstein transcription?

  • Absolutely amazing!!!!

  • Sarah Chang must be a dream come true for her parents. Intelligent, talented, beautiful, confident, and a good person. What more could anyone ask for?

  • @unclejuniorsoprano

I see it the other way around. Her parents must a been a dream come true to Sarah Chang. They must of had something to do with her being the way she is now. I seen way too many pretty faces slip through the drain of life because they did fuck all. And I only had to look down the family line one generation to figure out their fate was sealed before they were born.

  • @raybanfandom That too. As a former owner/trainer of AQHA race horses, I believe in genetics. You breed the best to the best to get the best, which is why so many public schools in the metro areas continue to fail. I believe that both of SC's parents have PhD or MD degrees. As for talent, I like her playing very much, but I won't put her in the same category as I put Heifetz & his ilk. Virtuosity often comes with a heavy price, as in the cases of Rabin & Fodor; great talents of the 20th century.

  • @unclejuniorsoprano "You breed the best to the best to get the best, which is why so many public schools in the metro areas continue to fail." I can't believe you jut said that! Humans are not horses. You taught the horses to succeed whereas innercity kids, I'm assuming, have no one to teach them how to succeed. Generally, people are a product of their environment.

  • @Caliera We're talking GENETICS, you idiot! I wouldn't expect such a moron to understand DNA anymore than the OJ jury did. You can't teach ANYONE to succeed. Parents with PhD degrees are more FAR likely to produce a child with a genius IQ than two Pygmies from central Africa. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. You must be a democRAT!

  • @unclejuniorsoprano Wow what is so wrong with you lol!! You are clearly emotionally immature, so you have my deepest pity. Also, I am most certainly NOT a moron as you seem to think I am. My only hope for you is that you pull your head out of your ass long enough to take a look how much pain you're causing those around you with your stupidity. You just insulted the majority of the world's political views. Good job (you silly little boy) :P

  • @unclejuniorsoprano Also, your blocked thinking is contagious. The behavioural patterns you set for others (kids, coworkers, anyone who is clearly forced to deal with you) will be your curse to deal with, as you get what you give. People are a product of thier own environment. I'd like you to think about what your behaviour and that of your kids, is saying about how your parents raised you. Again, you have my best wishes for a better future.

  • @Caliera I obviously must be a VIP; quite honored to get not 1 but 2 long comments from you. So much for me to answer. I have no coworkers. I'm a prof. writer. My YT comments are a form of relaxation for me. A lonely way to earn a living but pays well. You seem to know a lot about psychology. Are you a doctor, or just a patient with a lot of experience with therapy. As for the world's views, what world are you talking about? There are many." LOL" indicates your level of reasoning.

  • @unclejuniorsoprano You clearly have nothing more to say that I consider worthy of my time. Also, one does not have to hold a PhD or be a patient to notice facts of life that are all around you, all the time. You should look out a window once in a while. "LoL"

  • @Caliera Your comments are too general & ambiguous to make sense out of-- like something out of a fortune cookie. You have gone from Sarah Chang to genetics to psychotherapy. If you take pity on me as you say, why do you continue to insult me? I'll admit to being both a curmudgeon & a rogue, but you; I thought a person like yourself was far above that of being a mere bully. Remember, passive aggression often leads to violence. Get yourself into a 12 Step program before it's too late.

  • @unclejuniorsoprano ahahaha^.^

  • @unclejuniorsoprano If your theory is true, how do you explain people like Ramanujan? Born in rural India in 1887: (from Wikipedia) "with almost no formal training in pure mathematics, made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series and continued fractions. He is widely regarded as one of the towering geniuses in mathematics". His parents had no formal education at all--let alone PhDs.

  • @texbear21 The Asian continent has a huge population, but their race & cultures are much purer than in the West. Genetics is a pure science. Based on it, doctors can predict much about the offspring. Have you ever hear of the Alcoholic Gene? Perhaps none of Ramanujan's clan had the opportunity to become a PhD. However, there can be no doubt that his abilities were inherited, not learned. Even Plato & Aristotle knew that much & they lived over 2K years ago. Comprende?

  • @unclejuniorsoprano Plato and Aristotle did live 2k years ago and did had no idea about genetics. If YOU knew anything about genetics--you would know that there may be a dominant and recessive gene for most traits of the human being--intelligence is not all that predictable. Ramanajan might have had an intelligent mother a a father with low intelligence-the genetic "soup" is kind of game of chance. so No comprendo pinche joto

  • i honestly believe that only those of us who are in tune with our souls can appreciate this amazing kind of musik

  • @lolalila55 -

WHAT KIND OF PATHETIC, POETIC "MUMBO JUMBO" IS "IN TUNE WITH OUR SOULS" SUPPOSED TO MEAN - IT'S A NICE TENDER SENTIMENT, BUT MEANS NOTHING - I WOULD HAVE YOU KNOW THE GIVER OF SUCH GIFTS, (SUCH AS THE UNDERSTANDING OF SUCH GLORIOUS MUSIC) - IF YOU ARE REALLY HUNGRY FOR HIM, HE WILL REVEAL HIMSELF - HINT..... HIS NAME BEGINS WITH A "J"......

  • @chpnlzt John, George, Paul and Ringo?

  • @texbear21 -

I OFTEN WONDER WHY GOD EVEN BOTHERS WITH ATHEISTS - AND WHY HE GIVES SUCH GOOD GIFTS TO THOSE WHO DON'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW HIM - BUT HE ONLY ANSWERS EVERYTHING WITH THE FACT THAT HIS LOVE IS BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION, FOR NOW.

  • @chpnlzt you see i know some ppl that have basically killed their souls, they'r souls r so cold, that they can't hear Jesus knocking, and when they hear a beautiful song like this that brings tears to my eyes and makes me shiver, they will sit there and can't appreciate it. why do u think the Oprah is so unpopular these days? anyways I am on the same side as u and I don't want to argue with u. I just keep those ppl with cold hearts in my prayers... have a nice life:)

  • @lolalila55 -

GLAD WE ARE ACTUALLY ON THE SAME SIDE - SOMETIMES I JUST LIKE TO POKE PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION - HA.

I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING YOU SAID EXCEPT THE OPRAH PART - I DON'T GET WHY YOU BROUGHT HER UP -BUT SINCE YOU BROUGHT HER UP, I BELIEVE SHE IS AS "LOST AS A GOAT IN A HAIL STORM" - SHE IS SOOOO NEW AGE AND PANTHEISTIC AND RIDICULOUSLY RICH - IT WOULD BE LIKE TRYING TO CRAM A CAMEL THROUGH THE EYE OF A NEEDLE TO GET HER SAVED.

TENNOTES, THERE IS MORE TO THIS LIFE THAN JUST MUSIC

  • @chpnlzt sorry i meant oprah like red seats and high pitched singing, but speaking of Oprah w. i dont know why she became so popular. and i am not sure if being rich is a bad thing, its just that God has to be more important to u than the money, and yes money is not gonna get u saved. I hope u keep up with poking ppl in the right direction, just make sure that u give them a choice, just like u and i had

  • @lolalila55 ............... ........ -_-

  • @lolalila55 I don't believe in souls and I appreciate this music.

  • @Karengreen176 no wonder ppl compare themselves with monkeys and think that we are on the same level as animals, i hope God finds you in time, cause u do have a soul, its the most important part of a human being, just read the Bible, i dare you to find out the truth for yourself

  • @lolalila55 i couldnt agree more.. the violin cries and this music need more apreciation

  • @lolalila55 Well aren't you special. lol

  • @lolalila55 And maybe those who aren't in touch with their souls can learn to be through music such as this.

  • can i have the music score?

  • Great music. Didn't like the vid.

  • A=?

  • karate kid ? you remember the friend of the karate kid guy play this song

  • As long as they are humans alive this music will be heard...

  • Tears in eyes...

  • what is the name of this peice. is it actually by Chopin

  • @Jordanboadi123 Nocturne 20

  • i tried to order this sheet music, but i got the op. 9 no. 2. what opus is this?

  • @0oxisabellaxo0 Nocturne 20

  • Veramente fantastica, un tocco delicato ed incredibile, complimenti dall'Italia

  • this is what we call music . . it really gives you the chill as you listen to this . .

  • i cried !

  • So very beautiful. I love the way she makes the violin 'cry'. Her talent is amazing!

  • SENCILLAMENTE MARAVILLOSA. QUE DIOS LA BENDIGA SIEMPRE. DESDE VENEZUELA.

  • +To the 11 dislikes people, SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC =D

  • It absolutely befuddles me that anyone could be as much of a cretin to vote that they did not like this piece. Both it, and the performer, are of divine status.

  • It's amazing how a pop song like Party Rock was #1 like a month ago and is now perishing quickly. Modern songs never last long, and yet hundreds of years ago great composers created songs with their bare hands and no technology whatsoever, and the songs are still played today while pop songs with all kinds of computer generated sounds reach a moment of glory, then quickly fall to their doom.

  • i really like that, a lot...

  • Oh My goodness this moves me beyond words! My violin is missing 2 strings and a bridge, currently being fixed and I just want it so I can play!! Nothing speaks to my soul like a beautiful song being played on a violin. There is not a thing comparable. I really wish I could meet Sarah Chang, what an honor that would be!

  • Music Genius <3

  • watching this makes me think where is the music going today there no artist that moves you any more its so sad that to days generation doesnt have music like this.

  • Am I the only one who got chills listening to this? I wonder what it's like to walk around with this much talent in one body!

  • Utterly beautiful. This is the music I wish I could play, and the kind I want to write. But there is no way I can ever write something as beautiful as this. RESPECT.

  • Superb! ty makhfii for posting.

  • Amen to Backwoods Gunny.....then again....how does someone from the backwoods get a hold of the electricity and cd player for our beloved chopin music????? hmmmmmmmmmm.....................j/k LOL

  • better without piano, because the violin is brilliant...

  • Does Sarah Chang sort of almost look like Kimora Lee Simmons?

  • very nice.

    Perfect ,talanted woman♥

  • TRES BELLE PRESTATION UN TRAVAIL ENORME MAGNIFIQUE INTERPRETATION ON ECOUTE LA MUSIQUE PAS LES NOTES. SAISI PAR LA MELODIE

  • can anyone see the dislike button?

  • @BackwoodsGunny As much as I agree with you, I think igored28 makes an excellent point, and I also believe that we should stop infecting great videos and music such as this by comparing them to Justin Beiber or whoever else is out there as a 5 minute wonder! Look at it like this-it's their loss, not ours, we listen to good music, and those who can't appriciate it is going to die as musicly uneducated as the next 5 minute pretty boy. Poor Them.

  • what number of this nocturne?

  • @theheifetzcollection no 20 in C# Minor - Chopin

  • is she chinese? just curious o-o

  • @chelienk Korean

  • I'm gonna tell my brother to play the violin(since he's better than me :P ) and I'm gonna play the piano XD

  • Holy goosebumps!

  • I'd like to add an additional generic Justin Bieber/Lady Gaga comment...

  • lo máximo k belleza de tema ;..)

  • Sarah Chang - Chopin Nocturne Violin NEW makhfii 56 videos Subscribe Subscribed

  • This is a fantastic melody and is far surpassed by your playing of it. I bought your Sweet and Sorrow CD to get this piece. Hearing it on the CD is even better than listening here. In my opinion this is the greatest piece on the CD thanks Chopin and moreso to yourself. Congratulations on an unbelievable rendering of it. I doubt that I will ever hear a violin work that I will like better.

  • It is always a privilege to see and hear Ms.Chang.

  • I've fallen in love

  • I love you

  • ㅖㄷㄱㄹㄷㅊㅅ

  • 잘 감상하고 갑니다

  • charming !

  • I Love her!

  • tres belle!

  • So beautiful ....

    C'est tellement beau !

  • nice nice

  • i was at a graduation party in Lake Lucerne NY last saturday and I saw where this lady is playing in a concert/cinner there tomorrow (8/3) night. she is amazing

  • YouTube needs to make an "awesome" button because I wanna use it for this song right here. Such an amazing violinist!

  • I don't know what's more beautiful...her appearance or her skillful violin-playing. There's nothing sexier than a beautiful woman playing the violin like this. I love you, Sarah Chang! :-) <3 <3

  • I so wish I could see her play this live

  • I love how she plays this. It's absolutely beautiful. But yes, her tuning IS a bit sharp, but it doesn't even matter -3 I wonder,if she ever looked up to Itzhak Perlman at a time in her life. The first time I heard this song played on violin was from him! You should check it out :)

  • MY BABY!!!! I have always loved you..Always will.

  • Nothing but Great !!! I prefer Sarah's version because more emotional expression, touch my heart It's totally beautiful.....

  • w3w.... full with emotion... it can make me follow the emotion this music has,,,, xD

  • its really sharp and emotional.. like it <3

  • thumps up if you heard that from Karate Kid and looked wor it with the title:Chinese girl playing viloin Karate Kid

  • this is the kind of music that comes from the heart and personally i think it shows how we will never escape being unhappy : starts off sad turns happy then sad again :) she is so beautiful and amazing <3

  • Her tuning his incredibly sharp compared to A440. It's kind of odd, but I like it.

  • oh come on!! I don't get how you could dislike this sort of music!!

  • she's so awesome!

  • Più l'ascolti e più ti innamori della usa bravura e ti inebria con il suo suono e la sua tecnica.

  • Comment removed

  • what op and no is this?

  • Again as in Karate Kid, Chopin has nothing to do with China, Korea or Japan or whatever. But I used to play the violin myself when I was a kid but later left it for something manly like guitar, drums, or even the keyboard. But then I lost interest in music altogether. As Paul Erdos puts it, it's just noise.

  • the best of the best.

  • I playing this ;)

  • So why did you have to let yourself go and get so damn chubby, Sarah? At one time, looking at you could have given a guy a chubby.

  • @tonywsmith2

I have seen Sarah live in performance and in person ,autograph session etc after her performance at the festival hall in london a few months ago and she looked great, not chubby at all, in fact she has a very curvy sexy hourglass figure with a small waist . She did look chubby as a teenager and in her early twenties but looks now as if she has been on a slimming regime. Sarah is a very beautiful girl when you see her close up. Also all women tend to flucuate in weight ,its normal

  • @no1knowledge Yeah you sound super well informed. Why am I the only person here who seems to realize how ridiculous it is that one person quotes a bible scripture and everyone gets their panties all up in a knot. Look her comment may have been annoying and preachy, maybe even a little inappropriate, but your comment is hateful and rude. And for the record just because you google something doesn't mean you're well informed on the subject.

  • Karate Kid!!!

  • Chopin has changed my life forever. I love Sarah's playing no less.

  • GORGEOUS!!!! Both her and this piece. Love it.

  • How I love this womans playing! My favourite violinist, without a doubt.

  • one word. FLAWLESS

  • Beautiful music wow ,yes i like it

    Thanks for the shar

    Nora

  • Chopin Nocturne no. 20 (opus posth) permormance midori much better

  • This is the Op 37, No 1 or Op 9, No 2 ?
