Great job with the suspense, I loved the party scene where the guy and the dark-haired girl were sharing stories and getting laughed at by everybody else. I thought that was really well done.

The ending seemed, I don't know, kind of cheesy. The instant switch from effective tension to weird looking special effects took off more edge than it put on.

It's not hard to startle someone, it IS hard to create a scary atmosphere. That's why the store scene was good, because you were expecting something to happen, but nothing ever did.

This film had a lot going for it. Good pacing, great suspense, good solid atmosphere, and the implication that evil doesn't care if it's night or day, clear or foggy. For the most part, it was wonderful.

But then you have the girl's placostamus-face, and the ending scene. Between the bad camera tricks to enlarge her mouth and the stock monster roar, it ended kinda weakly. The storegirl was wonderful, and the wife was brilliantly ominous at the end.... but then she roared like Kuwagamon...
