I did everything correctly in the video and reason was installed on my computer and for the first day it worked now the program will not play any sound. The king kong machine when i hit the pads will not play but the program show that im hitting it. The preloaded song will not make anysound but it will play. I unistalled it then reinstalled it and still nothing

Please someone help! Whenever i add a new instrument (i am using a drum machine and then i open a synth) the drum machine will continue to work but when i select the synthesizer it gets highlighted but when i hit a key there is no sound. The odd part is the note light on the drum goes off every time i hit a key but there isn't sound Its like im selecting the new instrument but my keyboard isnt. can anyone help?

@GieraryHirr on reason 5 you cant cause it doesnt allow you to use vst or plugins which is really the only downside or reason but on Logic you can since it supports thrid party plugin vst's you know i got some dubstep techno sounding beats on my site check it out yayobeatz . com

@YayoYouSoOuttaThere There is ways to get around not being able to use vsti's in reason. Say you have a soundcard with 2 inputs like a fast track pro or mbox. You can get a stereo to 2 mono cable, hook the stereo side to the headphone out on your soundcard, and the 2 mono sides into input 1 and 2 on your soundcard.  Then you can open up the standalone version of the vsti like NI massive and use Reason 5's live sampling input to record the vsti into reason.

If you go into prefrences then go down to where it says load demo song, uncheck that then check blank. You will no longer have the demo song load. Also you do need a midi controller if you want to play without having to program your whole track. I would say to you to learn more.

@LeoPreponderance Knowing some music theory would of course help you. The basics like; beats, bars counts, chords, and so forth. I would recommend getting a midi controller if you are digital based. If you are analog based, I would recommend a Motif. It has some of the best sounds as far as presets go. Of course you cant go wrong having both :)
