  • The voices of Gene Clark and Roger Mcguin were a perfect match. Much better then their performance with other singers. If Gene was still with us, he must have stayed working together with Roger Mcguin or just singing alone with his guitar

  • Gene was really doing well at this point, Almost all of the shows Mcguinn and Clark played at this time were the best that each had done for a long time. Gene's d&a probs just ate this amazingly talented man up. I love their verson of this it's the best i've ever heard. Gene really means it and so does Roger. So freaking cool. Thanks for posting!

  • Genuine talent doesn't need elaborate production or expensive recording studios.

    God bless you, Gene Clark.

And may you live to be a hundred, Roger Mcguinn.

  • a hardy 2nd, may you live to be a hundred and be happy every day.

McGuinn and Clark were so good together. Hope he performs in the west coast sometime

  • Magnificent!

  • this is a really cool rendition of this tune. i like it :)

  • If I live to be a hundred I'll still be sad that Gene Clark is no longer with us.

  • Wonderful. This is what I love about music - the ability to send a shiver right through me. Gene's rarely sung better.

  • Now that I hear these two giants, I'm thinking, what a great three part harmony with gene, roger aka jim, and the tenor voice of david. It's like listening to angels

  • I'm crying. This one hits really hard. ah, history. Hugs you one minute, suffocates you the next. Gene, the Byrds, Gram Parsons, big part of my spiritual life.

  • Superbe interprétation ! / Wonderful rendition !

Thanks for sharing ! / Merci de partager !

  • beautiful....

  • Gene Clark was such a gorgeous man!!!

  • Mcguinn has similar voice to Bob Dylan but Gene Clark sang like God.

  • Absolutlely brilliant!!

  • Wow, what a gem.

  • The best of both worlds -Clark & McGuinn.

Gene's great voice with McGuinn's Rickenbacker.

Listen to the smooth harmonies !!

Amazing how such a beautiful sound can be produced by only 2 individuals !

Wish they had made a studio lp together.

    I miss you Gene !!

  • In my opinion, this is the best cover of this tune that I have heard.

  • @Aviv52 agree

  • @Aviv52

  • who is Bob Dylan je le cherche malgré toutes ses reprises!!!!

  • I was at this concert. A friend and I drove to the Bottom Line from Philly. While I can't remember many of the details I have often recalled the excitement of being young and seeing my two favorite original Byrds paired together and creating a wonderful night of beautiful music. If you told me 31 years ago I'd be listening to this again while typing into something called a "computer" I never would have believed it.

  • Your first name isn't Christine, is it?

  • Alas, it is not.

  • God-Bless you Gene and Roger and All the Byrds may they always Fly Good Stuff

  • McGuinn's a really neat guy. I think it says something for his stance on copyright that his official website links to youtube search. After all, he never saw royalties from some of the early Byrds stuff.

  • Breathtaking ! I've been a follower of the Post Byrds Era and saw Roger in concert at the Bottom Line in the 70s and at William Paterson Col. c 70s and the shows only starred Roger. Strange how I missed Gene.

  • For all you Gene Clark fans I designed and printed a gorgeous Gene Clark t-shirt.

Contact me vanredin@earthlink if you want one.

  • How great is this !! McGuinns Rick 12 string is one of he prettiest sounds ever! Great harmonies.

  • I saw Gene and Roger in concert in late 1977 at William Paterson College in Wayne, NJ. What an incredible show - together and individually! What a tragedy for Gene t pass away a few years later. Tanks for posting this!

  • Gene could lay down a melody to sing harmnoy to...they were just a RIGHT combination...McGuinn's 12 playing was definitely set in motion as a gift to the world

  • I saw them on this tour. One of the best shows I ever saw.

  • Yes definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen too!

  • Saw them play in Newport RI at The Salt, had the pleasure of making their acquaintance too, autographs, the works...saw Roger quite a few times but that was my one chance with Gene

  • You gotta' love that 12-string sound. Great song.
