  • THIS SHOW WAS NOT REALITY AND IS A LOAD OF SHITE,MOST AUSTRAILIANS ARE SHIT ACTORS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FEW HOLLYWOOD AUSSIE ACTORS

  • Showing Prisoner again on Pay TV ...from the start

I love it more now.. than i did the first time it was screened, which was once a week on ATV 10. on a Wednesday night

now i watch it every night at 6.30 and cant wait for the next episode..

    a world class production.!

  • Bad girls could of been good and still on bad girls just needed a new producer near the end to spice things up another fire to kill off a few heads lol

  • i love lizzie birdsworth.. <3

  • Well they finally started playing it again in Australia, it hasn't been on for years. Gives me a good laugh.

  • vinegar tits hahaha

  • Back from the very start in 1979 the bad officer was "Vinegar Tits" , later in1982 and forwards it was the "freak". Australias best sitcom ever produced, greetings from Sweden.

  • @kzbxvz Back from the very start in 1979 the bad officer was "Vinegar Tits", later in 1982 and forwards it was the "Freak". Australias greatest drama serie ever produced to date. Greetings from Sweden.

  • she was innocent and later sally hangs herself!

  • " I haven't done anything !! I'm inocent !! " .. I know that most of them say that, but girl really sounded like she meant it !

  • This was one of my favorite shows in grade school!

  • Great what more can i say in this cell.

  • The first episode had a very sober beginning - you would never imagine in episode one events such as a prisoner riding on a Harley Davidson motorbike, a prisoner dealing with an officer to get rid of her or things like that which happened in episode 692. The arival of liberal characters like Tom Lucas and even dominating ones like Joan Ferguson along with talk of "reward cells" and "reforms" seem like a long time into the future here.

  • She Bumped Into Me

  • If you bump the bull you will get the horn from Frankie!

  • I use to watch this show when I was 18 in the early 80's in the USA. I loved the show then and Id love if I could find replays of it somewhere. Im not sure if it would hold up thru the years, but it would be fun to find out. Is PSBH still on the air after all these years?

  • Nope, from what I heard it's still shown in various parts of Europe including Finland where they have the subtexts for the folks to understand what they are saying. I know how you feel, I read the PCBH Books when was 16 in 1981 and I got hooked. Say, do you watch Bad Girls too?

  • Do you still live San Francisco? If they ever show this again in the US let me know.

  • When my great grandmother came to visit Australia from Italy she would watch this show religiously .... she never understood a word... but would sit there and get so involved!!

  • Poor Sally. Ended up doing time for murdering a gossiping schoolmate. I wonder how Meg & Vera would have dealt with Zandra Plackett from Bad Girls.

  • A classic beginning to one classic show!

  • A brilliant show pity they never showed it on Irish TV.

    Vera, Bea and Lizzie rule.

Poor Lynn she looks so innocent you would have to feel sorry for her plus she is HOT along with,

Marilyn, Karen, Chrissie, Caroline, and Roz

Fletch the letch was a lucky guy having it off with Caroline, I'm surprised he never went for Lynn, Chrissie and Roz.

  • Ulster Television had shown the series (if it counts as Irish TV), but gave up when there was about 130 episodes to go.

  • true,channel 5 then picked it up.

  • This show was real popular in the US in the 1980s. Frankie was a mean woman. I once knew a secretary who LOOKED LIKE HER!!!

  • Hey did you know that when Frankie "died" The Gay & Lesbian Community in San Francisco had a wake for her and at their Parade, they actually had a casket for her that they put in the procession.

  • Maybe because Frankie wouldn't take shit from anyone she was fearless so that's why they honored her! Very interesting to know they did a wake for her SF. Frankie to me was the ultimate warriror but she had her good side with Doreen, she really loved her.

  • Yeah, you're right about that. I read The Franky Doyle Story when I was a Teenager and her life was very rough. Parents died, she and her brother were put into Foster Care, so Doreen was all she really had. Now I realize that when Vinegar Tits wanted to transfer Doreen to room with Marilyn, Franky probably felt "abandoned" once again.

  • What is sad is their are thousands of Franky's and Sam's who have had hideous lives. If only people who do not want their kids would give them to loving homes. Their is a lot of truth in Cell Block H about life in prison from what a friend told me. So sad!

  • I keeps cutting out!

  • Good old Lynn Warner (the blond girl second on the credits)... My favourite TV shows in the 80s were Dynasty and this one. Kind of like chalk and cheese, but both equally camp! Imagine how gobsmacked I was when Kerry Armstrong, the actress playing Lynn, popped up in Dynasty a few years later playing a Duchess!!! My eyes nearly popped out of my head. It was surreal.

  • Oh My God! Another show for me to get into, since I finished Bad Girls. Man I love You Tube!

This show seems a little creepy though, and I've only watched 15 seconds!

  • The boxset containing every episode is now available for pre-order. 179 discs! Biggest ever apparantly. AUS$1,200. Approx £610! I'm starting to save....

  • Hello All;

I used to watch this program with my mother every week day in Canada.

  • It was on Global TV in Toronto, and WBEN-TV, in Buffalo N.Y. in my area, in the late '70's. Don't know why, but they stopped showing it here in 1980.

  • Karen Travers looks very glamorous in the opening shot when she is walking across from Flinders Street Railway Station in Melbourne

  • i could imagine that

though i wonder who challenge bea or myra or any of them or pat

  • Can you imagine any of the "Bad Girls" in Wentworth or Vice Versa. Also, doesn't "Vinegar Tits" make "Bodybags" look like an Angel.

  • I loved this series, I used to stay up to 2:30am to watch it 3 times a week!.

I would love to know if you could buy the entire series on dvd, however there were 692 episodes!!!

Well Done - I loved this programme

  • I think I was like 11 or 12 when these aired in New York on Cable TV, the best was when both New York City AND a local Fox station aired them. I got to see early episodes that I missed when i stared watching, but I have NEVER seen the pilot episode. THANKS FOR POSTING!!!!

  • Thanks for posting all these, keep them coming. I've never seen the show from the start before, it's great!

  • Blimey, Saint Meg was as nasty as Vinegar in that episode. When did she turn into sugar and spice?

  • meg could be tough when she had to

  • the beginning is great. It's very "that was on the outside, and things were different then" LOL

  • Karen! Lynne! Bea!

  • OMG Thank you so much for posting this Video. I use to watch this program with my mom when I was a kid. I have been looking for it for a long time.

  • but they will come around, sooner or later.

we're not going to stay silent for long

  • I've been looking for this, I dont know how long.

I saw it quite a long time ago, but it's just as good as I remember.

I live in sweden, and they say there not going to air it again.

  • I loved this! Thank you for posting this!

  • big in sweden. coused a riot outside the tv4 building, so they had to show the entire series one more time. and we wanted them to do it a third time. but sadly they dident... yet

  • Yeah, I read that in has a huge following among the Swedes.

Ya'll in the UK should throw a riot outside channel four to bring Yvonne Atkins back from the Dead.

  • god bless jock stewart

  • Fantastic! I watched all six episodes so far whilst pissed and thoroughly enjoyed them. Thanks!

  • My God!!! I remember this show - it was such a big deal when it came on in the states, but I adored it! I know it was pretty big in the UK where I live now - I need to see if I can get DVDs. But thanks so much for posting!!!

  • I remember reading the books when I was a kid, and man was I blown away. They have recently re-released them on DVD, I think they will be available sometime in April but you better check.

  • Hey thanks very much for that!!! They even had books???? I wouldnt mind getting them either!!!

  • Your best bet maybe is to try the Ebay Website. I can't guarantee you anything but you never know by trying. Where I live they only have a DVD Box set selling "certain" episodes but I would want to watch from the beginning.

  • You're welcome NativeMoon. You may not know this but it beat "Happy Days" in the ratings back in 1984 which was the last year of the show.
