Going to far with the top ten NHLers of all time. I mean there are alot of greats. Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Hull, Brodeur, Hasek, Roy, Messier, Lafleur, Robinson, Clark, Neely, Richard, Gainey, Yzerman, Coffey, Howe. These are just to name a few. I admit Sundin is a good player but to say top 10 is ridiculous.

Mostly poorly utilized player ever. This guy was an absolute gem, and for the majority of his stay in Toronto he had the crappiest supporting cast. In his prime, this guy could've anchored a team to the cup, given a decent supporting cast. But what the did they give him? Players like Jonus Hoglund, Sergei Berezin, Jason Blake .... sigh.

I've been around a long time. I can remember watcjing the leafs win all those cups. I can remember Keon & The Big M....the huge trade of the Big M ,,,Tim Horton, Armstrong. Also all the years since. I don't know if Matts is greatest leaf ever because they never surrounded with those who could win a cup. T.O. Leaf Orginaztion only cares about the dough!!!! I will do anything for Mats Sundin to come back to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will ALWAYS be my favourite hockey player no matter where or what he does. How did the leafs screw him? Let me quote Sundin here "I want to be a leaf for the rest of my career, so I will not agree to be traded" The leafs respected his decision to stay, so they kept him and offered him an extension at the end of the season.
He screwed the leafs by backstabbing them and leaving a young helpless team that could have really used his help.
But looking back now I am happy he didnt come back, cause what is he doing in Vancouver other than hogging all the cap space? 3pts

Of course, the Leafs would definitely win more games with Sundin, but that shouldn't be their focus right now. The Leafs are aiming for a high draft pick, and unfortunately, Sundin would hinder their chances. He was a great Leaf, and I hope he does well with the Canucks
