it has the a spring tank and a delay chip. the delay chip is there for a pre or post delay just to give the springs extra depth. if you revove the chip the srpings will still reverberate but it won't be as deep.
I nearly bought one of these till I realised that it doesn't actaully have a spring inside, which you can hear when they change the settings, you can hear that really electronic sound, it's a pity someone doesn't do a reasonable reverb effect based on an accuntronics reverb pan, there are really expensive tube driven clones of the fender 63 reverb, but no solid state ones.
@yakacm there's a spring inside, that's just a strange rumor that seems to be spreading around. There's a delay chip inside but that can be removed or modified with a control knob quite easily.
@yakacm It does have a spring inside, 3 actually ;-) Though there is a delay chip in it too. If you are looking for an accutronics solid state driven pedal: Van amps sole mate. Unfortunately it is rather expensive...
The Spring King already has a delay circuit, in addition to the spring reverb. They did Uma Floresta's mod on this one to allow control of the delay circuit

How big is the Danelectro Spring King? Like height by width wise?????
thekillers1293 2 years ago
It measures 207 x 162 x 50 mm (plus the height of the knobs).

Sounds more like electronic version of a tape echo; echoplex, roland space echo, etc.

did you just add a delay circuit inside the spring king, or is it a modification of the original circuit?
