  • This scene right here makes you feel good about the part where Comedian gets killed.

  • Oh shut the hell up your brainwashed ingnorant Republican, quit fear mongering and living in the past.

  • How can the smartest man in the world also be the fastest in the world, and one of the strongest too?

You should read the graphic novel to understand that he is so smart that created a method of training for anybody to become a hero.

Even won a lot of money with him after he published it in a book, make sure you also a hero, how to become a hero in 7 steps.

  • How can the world's smartest man also be the world's fastest, and one of the strongest as well? Can you say, o-v-e-r-p-o-w-e-r-e-d. I'm cancelling my subscription unless they nerf him.

  • i cant stop laughing about their crazy "uniforms" LOL!

  • real shit

  • WATCH on my channel Rorschach vs police

    best scene

    ENJOY

  • damn you keep posting comments saying to watch your rorschach video on every single watchmen video. this is the third time i replied to you lol

  • the comedian is not very funny

  • He isn't really supposed to be funny, it's an ironic title.

  • hes not called comedian becouse hes supposed to be funny

  • no shit, tell um man! hes made a parody of human nature! its all an act...a joke if you will! deep down hes honestly a good person lol

  • but ironically he wasnt because the only thing he found funny was nuclear armegeddon

  • Comedian knew that life was a joke, that humans were headed toward a path of self-destruction. He didn't care and treated it as a joke. Didn't care if it was a good joke, just went along with the punchline.

  • Essentially he was parodying the way the world was in his eyes. No one else just got the joke.

  • The readers did. :P

  • Ah well, he'll never know :>

  • yup yup! couldnt of said it better my self!

  • I don't know what they were thinking when they made Ozy's costume, it looks so fucking stupid.

  • They wanted to parody the Schumacher "Batman and Robin" nipple costume. It was meant to make Ozy look commercialized, fake and lost in his own world, just like his toy line.

  • I guess that make sense.

  • Notice the Silk Spectre design on the Comedians lighter :3

  • That's why i don't like the comedian, who cares how big a problem is that is what heroes are for! You do what you can and you never give up! Did superman give up under that mountain of kryptonite? Did captain america give up when he learned that he woke up in the 70's?

In that sense i think Roshach is a better hero then comedian will ever be.

  • You're missing the whole point of the story. The story is about who actually has power in the world. These characters dressed up and pretended to be heroes in hopes of fighting crime and making the world a better place. But, The Comedian understood that breaking up one crime ring didn't change the world, it didn't change the criminals, and it didn't change human nature. Can't say more, read the book

  • I read the book. Okay maybe nite owl and roshach can't change the world by themselves but atleast they kept trying comedian just said 'screw, i can't save it so i'm not going to bother'

    that's not a hero.

  • still, spectre´s got a point! i think the most important thing about the GN is that it doesn´t provide us with easy, one-sided answers. there are so many shades of grey, so many questions ... i think we can all agree on the point that the comedian sure didn´t make the world a better place. but the question is: who does? who has the ability? and what, exactly, needs to be done? cue adrian ... he sure changed things - but at what cost?

  • I think Comedian made a bigger impact in that room when it was Cptn. Metropolis introducing their group as the "Crimebusters". Comedian burned the map, and it looked like Metropolis was well near tears. Well, maybe not tears, but he was like, "M-my display!"

  • They guy even beg the others not to leave, and all were like "yeah dude whatever"

  • I think the reason why they had Ozymandias head the room was to give a motivation for revenge.

In the original book Blake beat up Veidt one day, and Veidt waited several years before personallt killing Blake. Here they make the humiliation the motivation.

  • nononononono.....veid didn´t plan to kill blake! they didn´t like each other, but he had no plan to kill him! later it became necessary!

  • Yes, but when he did have to kill Blake, he decided to do so personally. He could have used a more indirect method or maybe used an accomplice, if that would work. Instead he decided to go to Blake's apartment and kill him.

Also in the book Veidt says "I swore to deny his kind their last black laugh at Earth's expense. I also swore that when next I met Blake or any other foe, though perhaps not on my territory... It would certainly be on my terms." (Ch. XI, Page 19)

  • yeah...well you´re right

  • BTW, check out the David Hayter draft script - in that one Dan Dreiberg heads the Crimebusters meeting

  • where's capt metropolis anyway young laurie is cute

  • Awesome movie. WATCHMEN really dug up what was wrong with the superhero genre: a costumed guy with gadgets still can't make a dent in society's problems. It turned everything on its head.

  • My Map... He will die.

  • Comedian should wear a black shirt underneath his costume, like in the comics.

  • so why went manhattan al emo during the tv show? couldn't he see in the future /past that they where getting cancer from something else... couldn't he put 1 and 1 together and asked why his teammates didn't get cancer? Silk Spectre must have been a walking tumor during the movie

  • Because Ozymandias invested in technology to block Dr.Manhattan's ability to see in the past/future, and spent billions on it.

  • i thought that was only blocked for that time moment where the nuke exploded... cause during the movie he could still predict events for Silk Spectre. also you don't need to see the future to see that his superhero friends didn't have cancer

  • I'm not sure. I've not read the entire graphic novel yet, it probably explains better in that. I still think the story is good though.

  • yeah prolly that part isn't in the novel cause the movie has a different ending..

  • nah but both comic and movie explains, ozy attack Doc. in a Psicologic level, based on exams do to him, remember Rorschach found a profile of Manhattan on Ozy's office. and so, while doc could have see what adrian eas planning he just didn't have mind to do it you know with all the cancer thing, going to mars and all that Psicologic tirp he does in mars XD and by the time he starts focus again, the blocks produced by veidt have alredy enter in action.

  • ignore what i said didnt see other comments lol

  • He could only look into his past, and his future. The reporters were bombing him with questions, not letting him talk. That's why he got pissed off.

  • no remember in the begining he was like eh cant see the future so good cuz ozy got something that made his future jugdment go cloudy im pretty sures that why and he wanted to be left alone lol

  • I think it was a great movie. Of course they cant put in all of the details, but i recall watching a interview of Zack Snyder saying this movie will hopfully get more people to read the novel

  • this was a pretty good movie i went and saw it yesterday i just didnt like the fact that they rushed through it all...

  • I just saw this movie and it was a big let down. Its interesting to watch for the novelty of live-action but that wears off quickly. Just read the book :)

  • i believe the movie ending was better then the book since in the movie they thought doctor manhattan killed everybody and people had a reason to fear, but in the book they feared a gaint squid that they thought was an alien. So what happens when people question if it really was an alien they only got to see one "so called alien" while they know that doctor manhattan was real in there world.

  • I understand your point but it still dosen't make the movie any better. The movie was just so rushed and cut really short, its like watching the Cliff Notes version of WATCHMEN

  • i agree 100% they cut out dr. manhattan's whole shpeil on mars about chaotic terrain and pointless human life, they changed how rorschach kills the child murderer, they didnt say why manhatten singed the hydrogen symbol in his head, and they completely removed the black freighter and they never showed how rorschach got his mask and ultimately became rorschach all that and so much more. they just completely butchered it

  • Minor details that are irrelevant. The way Rorscach killed the guy in the movie was way more personal and dramatic, it fit the scene better than the original verison.

Stop whining about them cutting out minor details.

  • is dat hawk...da wwf superstar..?

  • paper for intelligent people, hollywood for morons. i hope the movie is better than this preview

  • what kind of people is the internet for then? also, it's not a preview...it's a clip

  • the costumes are supposed to look kinda gaudy and camp. and also, WHAT HAPPENED TO CAPTAIN METROPOLIS?

  • thank you! i was just about to complain about their attitudes. ozymandias i think is supposed to at least be an ok guy, although arrogant. he looks like a weakling prick here, like he's afraid of the comedian. funny how when you film something live, the scene becomes duller

  • very true. However, whilst Ozy isn't portayed as well in the film as he could have been, he doesn't come across as a weakling, he's actually pretty terrifying!

  • I love this grahic novel! laurie is hot!

  • never heard about these heores. They look horrible the way they dress. I think the only hero i like is batman for now

  • And that's why Comedian gets throw outta window, for burning that map LOL

  • The Blue Guy looks awesome, but it is hard to take the other 2 douch bags seriously whith those fucking guy masks/ outfits on......At least BATMAN looks gangsta in his shit.....these guys look like throw backs from a butt cowboy halloween party.

  • I'm assuming you haven't read Watchmen then?

  • Nope......Don't get me wrong, I am interested in watching the movie, this just looks as campy as Hellboy, which is lame......Maybe I am just into more "reality based" comics (i.e. Batman WHO IS REAL).....that's just me.

  • "Batman WHO IS REAL"

    ?

    R U Serious?!

  • F*ck yes I am serious.......Batman lives in Gotham City....No one knows his secretl identity though....But he kicks ass!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Lmfao!! How is batman real? Do you see a man leaping on shit in gotham?

  • Watchmen is the closest youll get to a reality based comic

  • i just saw the movie. i thought the dark night was overrated, in my honest opinion, from not reading the novel, it is better than the dark night. the ending is something that is beyond words.

  • i am with you in "the ending is something that is beyond words".

but hell not with you in "the dark night was overrated".

  • By saying "batman is real" he means all the shit batman does is doable by a real person, like it'd be possible in real life. Not that batman is a real dude, don't be retarded.

  • but it would take a lot of balls.

  • Aside from Dr. Manhattan, these characters are arguably the most realistic in any superhero comic medium. None of them have any superpowers, again excluding Dr. Manhattan. And as for Batman comics being "reality based", that really isn't true, as much as I love the guy. I dare you to look at me with a straight face and tell me that a character like Ra's al Ghul is based in reality.

  • wtf are you talking about??

    Batman is Real.....moron.

  • People who played in the dark knight were actors.

    lol

  • Dash, You said that their costumes are gay.... If you read the novel, then you'll see they are exactly what they are supposed to be.

  • Damn you both STRAIGHT TO HADIES!!!!

Just because they match what the book looks like, doesn't mean they don't look GAY AS FUCK!!!!!

  • Ozymandias no, and the change is awful i must say, plus the actor they cast to do the character is horrible, he has like this deprave and decadent face, in the comic Ozy is like with an almost angelical face, noble, you know that kind of guy people think is pefect in every sense, plus he is very muscular even in suit

  • And you can tell his hair isn't naturally blond either. Looks soo sooooo bad.

  • lol at Doctor Manhattan's thong

  • docter manhatten's bong

  • Having just finished the novel for the second time, I am very happy to see that the original lines themselves are intact, especially Comedian's "smartest man on the cinder" bit.

  • It´s called COMIC. That they´re a bunch of comics put together does not make i a novel.

Love watchmen, gonna see it :)

  • Um, it's actually called a graphic NOVEL. Sorry, pal.

  • and if its not a novel, then how is it that is in the New York Times top 100 NOVELS since 1923?

    double pwnd.

  • Did The Comedian pull out a Silk Spectre lighter? it looks like it to me

  • yes

  • well spotted

  • It's an awesome feeling to see the story I, as well as many others, have read on the screen. I'm going to see the full movie this weekend. I am pumped. I just hope they didn't make any extreme changes.

  • I've watched the movie a few hours ago and I can tell you: IT'S THE ULTIMATE KICK-ASS EXPERIENCE.

I'm gonna watch it again tomorrow and possibly a third time in the days to come.

(By the way, I read the graphical novel a few times too)

  • well apparantly their taking the squid out!

  • good ole ozy seems kind of gay, seriously

  • You should see his original costume in the comic book

  • I know, i read it like a year ago. but in this one, he has bat-nipples, like George Clooney

  • I noticed that too and no one believed me. XD

  • ive seen alot of clips with Comedian... does he not have the scar?

  • He has the scar in a few others. I don't think the character has it at the point of time this clip occurs at.

  • This was BEFORE Vietnam, so no scar

  • ok thanks for the info, i read the book only once and the diff time periods get jumbled p in my head sooo yea

  • You dont see Captain Metropolis because this isnt showing the infamous first/last meeting of the crime busters but the Last meeting of the "Watchmen" as to why they chose to go that route instead of following the source material I have no idea.

  • CAPTAIN METROPOLIS ASKJDFLASJFLdjsgjalhfd

  • "You'll be the Smartest man on the cinder."

  • I think the costumes are supposed to be ugly, at least to a certain degree. It's to show how foolish these people are.

  • the only costumes i hate are veidts and the silk specter, the silk specter should be a more revealing costume like in the comic

  • spectre

  • Their costumes are supposed to look exaggerated. The graphic novel itself made fun of the way typical superheroes tended to look.

  • where the hell is captain metropolis ?

  • Good question.

  • Thats wat i was thinkin too!
