I dont know which philosophers you are reffering to, but all i know is that we all have the power to be our own philosophers. im not going to back down on something so clear in my mind because of some dead guys long ago choose to think otherwise. Far as i know, no one can disprove it either, so lets leave it as that shall we? =)

There are many great philosophers and they didnt achieve that greatness by saying "its so clear in my mind." They actually made arguments based on logic and reason.
Learn the difference between a belief and knowledge. You clearly believe in god but you cannot prove he exists therefore you cannot KNOW he exists.

look, i really dont know what to say to you other than i just KNOW. belief has nothing to do with it simply because i cant know otherwise. Any other thinking is just absolutely nonexistent. By the way, Descartes is only a known philosopher because everyone chose to acknowledge him as such. Hows that for philosophy? And the "i think therfore i am" qoute you mentioned, is it really related to this context? or are you vainly using as a way to get your point across? i cant tell

It may be in vain but that would be due to your lack of understanding. The "I think therefore I am" was a rational for the one thing that we can truly know with certainty; which you apparently disagree with.
You aren't conveying that you posses any knowledge of god but rather a strong belief or rather feeling that it exists. Your belief has EVERYTHING to do with it. Just because you can't "know otherwise" doesnt make your position any more valid.

i completely respect what you saying. i know that youre responding to me in a logical point of view. Im just telling you what is right for me. Anyone can make an impact. Anyone can THINK what they want and be revered as a philosopher. What exists for me is the fact that we have souls. Atheists dont believe because theyre tired of having bullshit religions shoved down their throats. i understand that but dont tell me that there isnt a source of love woven into our hearts. I don't think that you should assume why atheists don't believe. Atheists have various reasons, one of which is a conclusion based on reason and logic.

Again with the assertions. You are commenting as if it is apparent that souls exist, yet there is not one shred of evidence that they do. In fact, all science and reason point to our consciousness existing simply in our physical brains.
If by "source of love" you mean our genetic disposition for altruism, then yes there is.
You should always be wary of "feelings," they are the things most easily manipulated and deceived.

youre right, there are always diffrent reasons why atheists dont agree with the existence of god and i can debate with you about the souls all day lol but i think what bothers me the most is youre comment about feelings. which would also require a five page essay to despute because there are so many angles to go about it. Regardless, i have to forfeit by default simply because I dont want to waste your time if you have no will for it. besides the character count keeps cutting me off =(

Either souls exist or they do not. Stating that they exist "for you" sounds kind of funny.
BTW, if souls are our "source of love" then how can it be possible for a person to have amnesia after being hit on the head, forgetting everyone they've ever loved (including themself)? In such a case, where is the persons soul? Did it fall out of their body? Did it get amnesia too?
So what happens if someone is shot in the head? Will they be able to remember their loved ones in heaven?
