Wrenthereaper is right. A common mistake in all after effects matrix jumps on youtube is that they all animate the jump too late, when the character is FALLING. if you want a better explanation, watch my matrix jump video.

Pretty good job! I'm impressed. Only tweak I'd make is once you are in the air before you "fly off"....I'd make the fly off a second or two earlier. You start to drop back to Earth just a bit before taking off.

animators usually forget about Physics, and its a crucial part if you want to sell a scene. for instance, next time in this situation, try estimating which direction your torso is going to head (you changed it to a little to the left), and let that be the path, it doesnt change once youre off the ground. secondly, remember that gravity is a negative acceleration and that it requires a large jump velocity at the START that slightly slows down towards the top of the frame. same visa versa.
