not really useful tutorial. all applications that run this way in "portable mode" will run exactly same without packing them to an selfextracting archive :(

please install virtualbox and search for a software called "EvaLazer". Its a free for noncommercial use software with funktions similar to VmWare ThinApp and to XenoCode.

Poor boy..you used winrar to make your portable app..recuva works on a single folder unlike any apps that works on multiple folders and registry.. You only reduced the filesize man, you did not make it portable, coz the software works portable itself.

well i used airplay and it is like a crazy big file (200megs) so i searched it for airplay and it cam up with a ton of stuff bit i narrowed it down to 3 options that were .exe 2 of them had the same name and the other said something completely different so i tried one of the 2?

Excuse me for asking, but this is not truly a portable app after this procedure, as the settings for the apps still would have to be placed in the %application data% (usually by automation) and thus the settings for the app would not be saved so you would likely have to reconfigure the app every time you move the portable medium to a new computer.

Yeah, but if you're using this for a virus scanner or something, then you shouldn't really need to save the settings.
