do not buy this laptop, i have the hp version (which is affiliated with compaq) and it can NOT handle anything. At all times it is at 100% cpu usage, in other words its a $300 dollar brick

@MET4LHEAD97 You probably won't be able to play dead island. To play a game like that you'd need a Gaming Laptop which may run you near or over 1000 dollars. It can play games like tf2 and l4d fine and maybe some older games which don't require a lot of power but other than that it won't do great with newer titles.

@eriki3000 , that's the point though, it's not a "lap" top is it, then, it's just a plain computer, that's why people buy laptops, so that they can have it on their laps to watch tv while doing some work or maybe playing world warcraft or something, if people want to use a computer, then they should just save money by going out to buy a computer, but if anyone intends to buying this computer to use the way I just said, then there is no point in buying it.

@eriki3000 , see, desktops = desk, laptops = laps, that's how they practually got the name, the other name for a laptop is a notebook, don't really understand that, because you can't use a laptop as a book, the ipad is more an eletronic notebook.

I have this laptop too, and it has a webcam and a microphone incorporated....

I'm pretty happy with it :) but I don't like it that the sound is so slow...I mean, even if the sound is at it's maximum level, it still is not enough to hear properly...

this lap top does not have a webcam unless you buy it, if bought online then you had to select the webcam and microphone, if you did not then you just got microphone,

look to where the microphone is at ( on lid) right next to it the webcam should be, if you do not see it then you do no have it,

to get the webcam: there should be something installed on your laptop called Cyberlink Youcam. your dvd player is also cyberlink just click the disk on the keys in the lefty side. back to webcam go to start and type in cyberlink or youcam and it should be there

i have this laptop, its really good. The processor is a little slow at times and lags, its an Intel Celeron Single core processor 900 series 2.20GHz. I am meaning to send this back to HP and see if they can upgrade the processor from a single core to a dual-core of 2.3GHz. and it has 2GB of RAM, but i am pretty sure it can be upgraded, since i am going to upgrade my laptop to at least 4-6GB of RAM with Intel Dual core processor when i get the money. I am really happy with this laptop.
