This has always been my favorite Madonna song and when I was at the concert and she played this version I LOVED IT!! Very happy she changed it up. Just goes to show you how creative she still is. She'll always be the best in my opinion!!
yea i think like myself only die hard fans are gunna love remixes of oldies because we get to hear the songs we;ve played over and over and over in a differnt light ya know. but i am happy u gave ur opinion in a very mature way and didnt like bash madonna like some of these assholes do. so thanks for being noble. -keith
I agree.. I love the remixes and instrumentals and different versions.. makes it more interesting to hear how a song can sound so different just by changing a few things around and changing the whole aspect of it.. I appreciate it and I consider it art...

Ya, this was the humorous period where she thought she could play guitar, hahaa! She must've been talking in her fake British accent about this time too. What a tool.
Just to clarify things for those who find this difficult to understand...this is a studio remix of her 1984 vocals with a new instrumental track. This remix was presented to madonna to learn the song for the sticky and sweet tour. When she sings this song during tour, it is live, and her vocals due to age and experience sound different. duh.
No those are definitely her vocals, you only have to listen to other songs from the tour, to see how madly high her voice can be when she wants it too, plus on a later date she messed up a few lines, proving that it is live
those vocals are not live from sticky and sweet she sounds like total ass and manly on tour. I love madonna to death but i am not gonna fool myself into thinking her voice in the 80s was altered by a synthesizer.
@DreadedEd I know it's her voice but its her voice in 1984, her voice isnt as crisp, its more shaky and has much less range now, which is why when she says "feels like Im gonna lose my miiiiiiinnd"(in the live tour versions) it sounds like a cat is being sacrificed.
The world will never have a Madonna again......Just like Michael.......We are so lucky to live with their music :-)

Borderline - cigarette or plastic toy commercials version.
Just makes me listen the original version.

Dress you up is so much better than this version of borderline, its so bland!

While I can appreciate the attempt to re-invent the song and perhaps stay 'current', I don't think the revamp does the original justice.
The original track, especially the bass line, is irreplacable.
I'm not a big fan of Madonna (which is why I can be impartial), but the bassline and well-composed music hooked me.

For sure, and anytime.
Can't deny her accomplishments as the most successful female entertainer of all time.
I do admit I bought True Blue back in '86 because I liked the title track that much.

Wasn't this song released in 1983?
Carazon 3 years ago 4
Yes, but it became a hit in 1984, along with "Lucky Star" and then "Like A Virgin".
Cool version, but nothing beats the original in my opinion!

This is def the 1984 vocals, her voice can still go high but it sounds way too young here and not as strong as her post Evita voice.

it doesnt sound right..she cant sing like that now

@luckystar18 In the studio they simply have her sing to a slowed track.[key much lower], at playback she's a high pitch wonder once again.

Sounds as though she'd sing over her 1984 vocals during the chorus.

Are these the 1984 vocals or re-recorded ones?
