Yes brother the children of God need fellowship one with another. Currently all the fellowship I personally have is via the internet. It is that way for many of the saints of God, because we are in the last days. We are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, and brother there are more unbelievers than belivers out there today. What you do here is encourage and exhort the brethren, so this is a fellowship of a sort.

Looking for a follower of Christ in the "church" is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Clergy fills those places with pew warming unbelievers for his own pride. Anyone can be religous but only God calls people to Himself and they'd be smart not to go to these gatherers of unbelievers.

My brother told me about when he went into Army boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood. He said it was pretty tough right from the start as soon as the when the bus arrived. So your analogy of training soldiers for war was very vivid.
