OK, judging by listening to the treble to see what it was doing, and by where the tenor was at each lead end, I think it's 3 leads of Orion and then 1 lead of Bristol. The ringing gets a tiny bit scrappy in the middle, but then Orion is a very hard method.
@lunaticonthegrass111 Total novice, I live in a rural area and get to hear some great sounds as I walk about. I would like to know about the different 'peels'? I am an engineer by trade and the whole act of bell ringing facinates me the more I hear in real life and see on ytube. I can not read sheet music nor am I pitch perfect but I am drawn to listen.
@carbonrocket Right then, This here is Bellringing done in the English style. There are about 5000 rings of bells in England, but few elsewhere. Because the bells swing full circle it is hard to play tunes on them, so we ring mathematical patterns instead. The bells start by playing descending musical scales, which is the first sequence, and then swap over adjacent pairs of bells in the sequence. These patterns are called methods. Sadly, space here is far too limited for a full description.
Yes, it is Orion. Did they splice it with Little Bob or something similar in order to get back to rounds? It sounded like they rang at least one lead of Orion, something else, and then the last lead of a plain course of Orion.
Yes I agree God bless em Salt of the earth people.
Im so glad that I got to see the post war generation of me ol man and got to know his peers at the Whitechapel bell foundry. Its another ruddy world now with lunatic and politclly correct idealistis an other brain dead academics and zealots
Well I love Bow they do soulnd brilliant my Dad hung them in 1961 along witth Bill Theobald but I have to admit, that York is just the best sounding peal I have ever heard. Again just my humble opinion.
I rung here some time ago these and York are my faves but back at the time I never got to see the bells in the belfry here at bow so finally to see them outside of black and white photos is glorious, thankyou!
Well done Mears and Stainbank, yet again!

@carbonrocket Can you be a bit more specific in what you want to know please. Are you a ringer/do you know anything about bell music?

No I'm sorry, Bow are just that tiny bit better than York in my opinion. York are my second best peal. Just my OPINION

There is some nice music in the method, the near miss at the first half lead sounds good.
