I'm 50/50 on this. Avery's comments were "nothing" at a fan level, but at a league level they were much more serious. I understand why Bettman did what he did, and do agree with the intention. I don't agree necessarily with how he went about it.

Bettmans comments today were blown WAY out of proportion. He must has one hell of a grudge against Avery. Avery's comments were nothing, who cares, that shit is spoken of all the time. Yet, Bettman, does little about violence on the ice, disrespects potential owner Balsillie in moving a team to Canada. Explain to your daughter, that what Avery said is a fact of Life. People talk like that, get with it, and speak out against violence as opposed to some humour that an instigator like Avery says.
