hey man great stencils i would just say try to use layers and divide the stencil up and do 3 copies of it and layer them in different colours, for example the bob marley one you could do his dreads green his face red and a shadow/backgrond in orange, just experiment man and find what works best for you :)

I use montana gold, just cause i like that good shit, and i use this paper from my local art store. it's called tudor ivory board, 75c a piece but it's worth it. it's real sturdy, but quite flexible and thin. xacto to cut

you can save money AND get = quality with a pack of card stock.. You can even print on it. It is sized like regular paper just 4 times thicker or something.. I use it in combo with spraymount

except that you did alotta over shadowing,

which is just the extra paint on the edges of the stencil,

it creates a boxed look,

unless that was what you were going for,

id stay away from it,

over shadowing makes it look more amatuer.

personally i find it best if your going to do it from sketches to sketch on cereal boxes they are a good thickness and go light on the can work on can control prevents over spray

if your blocking on the comp then just whack abit of light card in your printer just holds together better than paper

and also try and get hold of a scalpel rather than a craft knife you get better curves and makes detail shit loads easier way more precise but its a good start man

its not hard to make stencils, just use photoshop, upload pic, click "threshhold" or make it black and white, then turn up contrast, clean it up all the small stuff and print that shit out, then cut, simple.

yeah hit up an office supply store and pay for or lift some lamination sheets

be sure they are 10 mil. as the 3 mil tends to be kind of thin, it works really well, take your original and lay it under the lamination paper and just cut, its nice because its clear.

Get some transparency paper for your stencils, because it wont wear out after a couple of uses like paper will, and an X-ACTO Knife is the stencil makers god.

use acetate, medium thcikness. i get it from the reprograhpics room at my school, the guy in there is such a legend he lets me take like whatever i want! acetate is the best because you can photoshop your designs, print them out on cheapy paper, trace them onto the acetate (use an acetate pen and cut it out really easily, because acetetate is really good for cutting with a scalpel, or craft knife. They last virtually for as long as you want(delicate desings may tear)

not sure if youd be able to get it in a school stock room, but im sure you could find some fairly ceap stuff at homebase or craft depo type shop, or an art stockist on the internet. what would look really cool on a wall is lots of small stencils like a face or something, in rows and columns.

use overhead projection paper.....its plastic and lasts hella longer regular paper just lasts for like maybe 3 stencils....and its a shame to spend hours cutting stencils out ..for a one time use.....use overhead paper theyll last u for about 100 times before they suck

things i use are assetate which i find is perfect for stenils u cn buy it pretty much at any stationary shop also i use spray adhesive to spray on the back of the stencil so u dont get any underspray wroks like a charm :)
