  • To break up the bass you could use chord variations if you wanted.

  • thanks for the boner

  • I ♥ THIS SHOW!!!

  • Nice job

  • i just grew a mustache

  • 1:26 wtf u expect me to learn that

  • @E3iteB0unc3r45 oh Im sowwy is that too hawd for wittle old you?

  • @cmonneah Yes mommy lolz

  • @E3iteB0unc3r45 sry i was having a bad day when i posted the earlier comment. The part I believe you are trying to play is, as far as i can tell, a G-arpeggio. Basically, the root (G) the third (B) the fifth (D), and the root, or octave, again (G), in a little pattern. That probably doesn't make sense, but that's the best explanation you'll get.

  • @cmonneah Its ok and thanks i dont understand what your saying but i labeled my piano the day i got it and I will write down what notes you played and where to play it. Ok thanx again

  • @E3iteB0unc3r45 np. Im kinda a douche as a teacher not gonna lie

  • @cmonneah haha andy impression

  • @E3iteB0unc3r45 lol if you cant play that you really shouldnt be playing piano

  • AHHH THE PAIN OF UNFINISHED WORK NOW I HAVE TO WATCH THE ORIGINAL!!!

  • haven't played piano for years, now I learned this melody. thank you man, you made my day. thanks!

  • the end is insane.

  • I love it! i think you’re my online piano teacher :)

  • lol dwight's trying to shred a credit card

  • so if we play the end part like we did in the start, we have to use our left hand for it?

  • @whitebread123654789 Yes, you would have use your left hand.

  • Alexander Maximilian?

  • Fabulous! Thank You Again,

    :D

  • thanks i love this song its the best theme song ever lol

  • lol and a half i dont play piano but im learning this cus tht wud be sweet

  • It's far from my favourite show but by the far best theme song :)

  • I like my K. Kawai grand piano :P. i can actually play this (although i have been taking lessons for 9 years now) on my first try :)

  • LOL "Makeup" in the credits. XD Haha, but thanks, this is a really good tutorial :D

  • I give it 9 and 9/10th stars out of 10. I would have given it 10 if you showed us how to do the ending. but still a great vid

  • YAAAAAAAAAA! Thanks to you I gotz it down. :)

  • hi cmonneah,

i want to play 'the end' and you play but you dont axplane it :(

btw this is the best tutorial off al songs on youtube ever ! :D

    please answer this .... ;)

  • I believe the joke was something like Gummy Bears Eat Crap or something because the notes right before it were G B E C

  • @NoUnboundFreedom haha no, that would have been a good joke. I said "basically" when referring to the base clef, like base-ically, and laughed about it on camera, so it had to be removed.

  • "Bad joke was removed" ahahah)))

  • Nice tutorial! Although I almost had a heart attack when the laughing started. xD

  • i love the credits Andy Elliot. oh yeah and thanks for the tutorial. haha

  • you know who u look like to me? that guy from national treasure. the sidekick

  • @Roflemonade Riley

  • I don't get the joke...

  • now i just wanna learn the harmonica part

  • thanks, the part with all three is awesome

  • Thanks for putting this tutorial up man, I really appreciate it. It truely helped alot. Most of the other videos on here eather dont have a good camera angle or the video quality/their explanation is horrible, but yours was great.

  • really. russian

  • I have no idea why but i love this show and its song

  • Thanks this helps a lot! :)

  • thumbs down this comment.

  • STEVE CARELL!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome. It's a great song and a pretty good show.

And thanks for the warning at the start! :D

  • this is one of the better tutorials for a song. not too slow not too fast and this guys actually cool and not trying too hard like other people

  • Thank you sooo much! :)

  • what was joke?

  • Thanks man, i've never played piano before but now i know how to play one song, took me about 3 hours of studying your videos.

  • @bassfshr cool that's good to hear

  • @bassfshr i dont play piano but i play guitar. haha i learned it on my iPad in like a half an hour

  • Make a website with the sheet music please!!!

  • @target347 if you search the internet you should find it.

  • GB? I don't get it!

  • @taylorhdude g and b are the name of notes on a keyboard. It's like the alphabet of music. C, D, E, F, G, A, B

  • @cmonneah

    oh.

  • @taylorhdude german baptist... or garlic bread... however you want to look at it

  • I love this show so muuuuuuuuuuuuch...thank you!

  • You are the ***cking

    BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ah, the Season 1 opening credits.

This is a good tutorial. Thank you. But could you also add the notes in the info box, please? Like [ B-D, G, F#]... or however you would write them? Thanks!

  • @Mcheetah honestly man if you watch the video all the notes should be said out loud and in order, and if you right them down as you hear them hopefully that will be enough. But lemme know if that doesn't help. Thx

  • I'm still a beginner, but this is my favorite show.

  • THANK YOU :D

  • my keyboard doesn't go that high =( ha but thanks anyways!

  • I think the notes for the the very end are g b d g d g b g b d

  • What was the bad joke

  • the first part, the melody i guess is played on a melodica, and i dunno why, but it bugs me when people play it on piano because theres piano playing in the background while the melody plays

but still, all of that aside, great video, the first AND second part, its easy to understand and very educational and all that jazz

    awesome awesome awesome

  • This might sound weird, but I love your fingers. You have a muscician's hand. People don't get that sometimes they suck at playing an instrument not because they don't have the skill to learn but because they don't have the hands. That sounds cheesy but I should know cuz I play the cello and I have tiny hands. (so sad...)

  • @supershoknachos well thanks very much! I took lessons for about 15 years so that prob helped lol

  • I can play it and all, and I can play it well. But I wish I could play it all with my MUCH more talented right hand.

  • What's an harpagio???? Srry...i dnt play piano

  • lets take c major, for an example. An arpeggio is the root, third, fifth, and octave of a key, escalating up or down the keyboard. So it would be C (root), E (third), G (fifth), and C again (octave) etc. hope that made sense, prob didnt.

  • what are they very last notes ( the actual letters where you said it's g arpeggio)

  • G B D B D G D G B G B D etc...

  • thanks

  • OMG! Thank You sooo much! XD

BTW, it did make sense, esp. since im a beginner, so thx!!!!!! XD XD

  • I <3 this song....it's melody is sooo catchy!

  • did you punch a wall, or get in a fight, or are you a boxer? cause your right knuckles are effed up ;D

  • yes. nah I just tried to stand on a skateboard for the first time in a while

  • @cmonneah ha funny

  • haha its understandable

  • Thanks so much, this was the best tutorial i've ever seen by far. Its very easy to follow and it took me like 15 mins to master even though i really dont play the piano that good.

  • how long did it take to master the melody part? do u think it would be pretty simple for people who don't know how to play?

  • sry late response... the rhythm would be the only part, it takes awhile to get your fingers to play difficult rhythm smoothely

  • actually ya....i dnt play piano, i mean i have tried but I'm definetly an amature and this is the easiest tutorial.....anyone can learn it

  • How about a mini-tutorial on how to play 3:09? lol Thanks for the heads up on the volume.

  • this guy rocks

  • ya dude thanks foor this part as well!!! im subbing

  • Thanks for the help.

  • lol the laugh was random xD

but great job! i love this show

    the theme is fantastic

  • Awesome! Thanks so much!!

  • hey how do u play the g harpagio or whatever? u didn't say how to in your vid... but anyways its great!

  • every other whole note (white keys) starting at G

  • i dont think so... it's the root, third, fifth, and octave, im nearly sure. But don't think it's every other whole note (That'd be G, B, D, F ~almost right)

  • 3rd is B, 5th is D most comonly when you play arpeggios you play the 7th which is F, this is just from my common sense of music (i play sax)

    sorry for my confusion

  • YOU ROCK!!!! now all my friends at school are jealous.

  • I think i know the bad joke. Was it when you said the bass is basically composed of.....?

  • finally someone who put FAST. credits. i hate people who's credits are lke 15 min long

  • this is random, but jim is a CUTIE. ;3

  • thanks dude, i just got a piano and i wanted to play this song and these tow vids were really helpful. good luck on that three parts all together thing. thanks again

  • my piano is out of tune.. =(

  • Great Tutorial. I need some help though. I can play the whole song and I can play the Bass separately and the main part separately but I cant seem to play them both at the same time synchronized even at a really really slow tempo. Could you please help me?

  • any time i've encountered a tough rhythm, I've just had to break it down + slow it down. You have to get so good that you can play a part without thinking about it (while watching tv, while talking, etc). What I've found helpful is to mix up the rhythm for one part (like "jazz up" the right hand part) just so you can get as comfortable as possible with the notes, which in turn makes it easier to incorporate other hands/rhythms. Some rhythms come easily, some don't. Also try a metronome.

  • im 16 is there still a chance i can be a pro?

  • sweetness these vids really kick ass!

  • nice man but that laugh was really random lol

  • yeah it was supposed to have something to do with the bad joke that had been removed... but windows movie maker has a lot lag. I don't recommend using it

  • im curious, what was the bad joke? lol

  • yeahh that laugh scared me LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • i dont get the bad joke has been removed part what does that mean

  • i said a dumb joke during that part and just edited it out

  • thanks man!! :D Now all I gotta do is practice!

  • yay yay yay yay that was awsome. nice credits at the end. super fast. lol

  • thanks a lot this will impress my dad cuz he LOVES the Office. :)

  • you rock man! your so cool !!

  • Dude if you can play all three of those at once like you tried at the end, that would be sweet.

  • Where did you get your version of the song. I need to see the notes written down so i can get the timing right

  • i think i just searched the internet, and did some by ear... there is a YouTube video I found once that had the sheet music displayed, you can probably still find it. Good luck

  • Search :"Office Theme Song (US) Piano Sheet Music" in YouTube and it should pop up

  • Nice. Thanks :)

    Great vid.

  • *bad joke removed*

    that was funny.

  • You should do more of these instructional vids, thanks!

  • GOD I LOVE DWIGHT, Great Tutorial! I can play most of the song now :)

  • I just used the bass part from the first vid

Good for a beginner or a dude that stinks at piano

    (Like me)

  • thnx a ton man

  • O.. here is part 2! Thankyou!

  • thanks man u really helped =)

  • is it me or was that laugh really really scary?

  • nice keep working on the all 3 parts and then make a vid

  • great video by the way...lol

  • Nice!!! Now i can play it and its all thanks to you! :-) I love the part when your playing bass and you go to pick up the camera then set it back down :-p What was the bad joke? And thanks both these videos are amazing!!

  • did u like beat some1 up or something cuz ur knouckles are all cut up

  • yeah some guy was givin my gurl the eye so I busted him up real good in the face. Jk i slipped when I tried to stand on a skateboard.

  • lol nice

  • anyone have sheet music

  • does anyone have sheet music?

  • hey i bet if you slow down your play speed and use a sustain petal you will be able to play all three parts perfectly

  • or you could just play it once and put it in garageband

then make three tracks and make it sound cool

  • Thanks for these videos. I couldn't figure out the sheet music for the life of me!

  • wat was the joke and this is an awsome tutorial

  • this really helped me a lot because you labeled the notes. thanx

  • so wait in the first video you play the main tune with your right but then you switch it to your left to play the high melody with your right?

  • thanks for these

  • your piano sounds great. i have a really old out of tune Whitney Kimball and even if i play i right it sounds "iffy". thanks for the tutorial though. 5/5

  • i also have an out of tune whitney kimball. go you!

  • Maybe all Whitney Kimballs are out of tune. so if you compare one witney kimball to another whitney kimball its not really out of tune! *sigh* in another world

  • i have a yamaha ytp-200 =D

  • How many times do you do F#, b,F#,b???

  • Another great instructional vid in addition to the first part.

  • I taught myelf this and it was wrong so thanks for this

  • well thnx that realy helped! but i still cant do two hands @ the same time it sucks!!

  • ease into it like skip one part of the right hand and get both together perfect then throw in the part to get it doe both hands

  • Can you just send me notes plz that would be helpful thanks you!

  • Same here. I can't play both parts for my life.

  • How can you get your hands to play the two different parts at once? Practice? Is there some secret or something? I always get choked up when i try to do both parts

  • i play piano too and at first i struggled putting hands together but you just have to practice

  • true that
