  • Pfffft... you missed one :)

  • Got to love the ruger

  • Another Great Video, Yep you cant beat a 22 most fun for cost.

  • Which model Ruger is that?

  • Comment removed

  • my dad used to be able to do that with a ruger .22 pistol at about 120 yards

  • How are the newer triggers? I have a 10/22 from mid '90s or so I think. The trigger sucks. It's about 10lbs with a lot of creep and overtravel. I see this one has the newer extended magazine release. Did Ruger ever improve the factory trigger on their 10/22s to go along with that?

  • @Mr13born79 i think so, i have 2 ruger 10/22's both with the extended mag releases and the triggers are pretty good. they were both made within the last 5 years so they're fairly new

  • that is some amazing shooting. I have found the sights on this weapon tricky to use, but it is still the best choice of .22's.

  • Did u change the workings of the gun so it can accommodate the stinger bullets cuz the owners manual says not to use those.

  • damn last shot is a head shot

  • You hit 23/25 great shooting I have my own 10/22 and love it it's wood stock and shoots like a well oiled machine that it is any one looking at getting one do it it's a great Investment

  • How much did u have to compensate for the distance

  • i wish i could afford those targets :(

  • Wow ! I'm looking at my 10/22 right now and respecting it so much more lol. Thats awesome man... those rounds did some damage to that steel too for 200 yards... I think that'll put someone down !

  • u can't shoot stingers in the target model...THE MAN JUST DID

  • 10-22 is there a better all-around 22 Rifle? I don't think so!

  • Get AO scope and try again

  • Good stuff....I really miss those days plinking away with my 10/22......unfortunately I live in Massachusetts and my "indefinitely issued' F.I.D. card I earned as a teen back in the 70's is no longer valid!!!!! I wish my ancestors had picked another state to settle in.....cause this one is broken.

  • I have the exact same piece with the exact same magazine.

Wouldn't trade either one for a room full of virgins.

  • Hey you shot the zombie in the head at 200 yds nice

  • Great shooting. I love my Ruger 10/22. How did you get those Butler Creek mags to feed so efficiently? My ten round rotary always feeds no problem. I ran in to some slight issues with the BX-25 factory mag as well but nothing too serious. It seems you keep your gun very clean. I have the standard carbine. How is the all weather one? It looks a lot better than the blued steel in my opinion.

  • nice shooting. BOOM tonk

  • i wish someone would do ballistic test from 100-200yards

  • @ddavid993

I plan on doing that once I get the 10/22 target model and add a scope.

  • @tnoutdoors9 23 out of 25.. deecent ;) lol.

  • @tnoutdoors9 you cant shoot stingers in the target model. the caseing is a little longer.

  • @tnoutdoors9 How much bullet drop do you get at 200 yards? Nice shooting.

  • @ddavid993 there is a 300 yard test online somewhere, at 300 yards a .22lr went through a whole frozen ham.

  • Man you got a lot of haters!

  • 200 feet not yards

  • @superhawkn

200 YARDS......laser measured. The depth perception and audio feedback from the hits alone should be a giveaway.

  • Wow Great shooting I was looking at one of these at my local Walmart today. It is 199.99 and has a natural wood stock. Other then that I believe it is the same weapon. I like the Idea of cheap ammo and such. Again great shooting.

  • Ever considered Tech Sights?

  • @slowride55

I just purchased some Williams Firesights for this rifle and will post a video on those.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Ok looking forward to it

  • It would be interesting to see penetration tests at 200 yards of lots of different calibers

  • I use the stinger, n its perfect for squirrels

  • I turn 18 in just less then a month. No one in my family has ever owned a fire arm. However i love them. This will be my first rifle ever i can't wait :D.I plan to us this rifle mainly for plinking or just taking it to the local range.

  • @cod5ftwz Very nice my friend! I have one, they are awesome, if it is finicky the first while dont worry. Give it 500 rounds or so and it stops. :) Enjoy

  • Waist of money I'll take my hipoint 9mm any day

  • @drpepper8181

I guess millions of people have wasted their money on a 10/22. Quick, someone call Ruger and ask them to stop making an inferior rifle. Give us some video of shooting that HiPoint at 200 yards with open sights and we'll compare target groups. Since this is actually a video forum (with frequent trolls) I'll even accept your effort as a video response.

  • @tnoutdoors9 How can it be a waste of money? I bought a brand new stainless steel with laminated wood model for about $270 a decade and a half ago. My entire family has used the gun and shot well in excess of 10,000 rounds in the thing. It has NEVER jammed and everything is original. As far as a .22 goes, I don't need to look for anything else...

  • @umaxen01

I was being sarcastic.........sorry to get you fired up!

  • @tnoutdoors9 Now, let's not get into hi-point bashing. It's an excellent carbine that I've taken to 100 yards solid on and with zero flaws. That being said, the 10/22 is one of the BEST rifles on the Western market! 200 yards with that kind of accuracy is nothing to turn your nose up at. You cannot dispute results like that. If you're not afraid of someone with a 10/22 with a full mag, you should be. They WILL hit you with any measure of skill.

  • @drpepper8181 That was the most stupid comment I have ever read on Youtube.

  • nice shooting, I love my 10/22, getting ready to put a archangle stock and bull barrel I cant wait.

  • I have shot a beer can at 367 yards with my 10/22 all stock but i have a 3-9x32mm scope on it. it took just shy of 50 round to get a hit since it was a little windy that day. i was using 30 gr aguila ammo i little more velocity and power than the stingers.

  • Stinger ammo is not to be used on the "Target" model 10/22. Stingers will work just fine on this "standard" barrel 10/22.

  • Excellent shoots! specially when the wind cross, is necessary know to calculate de new trayectory to compans the shot and the target. from Costa Rica: Congratulations!

  • 2:44 "Pretty freaking amazing."

  • let me guess, you must be a sales manager with high presure.... BTW, I like your shooting style :)

  • Loving the video ! Great shooting with a great gun !!! I tell everyone I know to get one maybe if they see this video it might wake a few peoples eyes up ! Thanks

  • not supposed to use the stinger ammo says so on the manual but I guess it worked

  • @RROCKSTARR57

Good point.....they are a tad bit long. I've stopped shooting Stingers, but really like the CCI Velocitor.

  • @RROCKSTARR57 WRONG. Only with target chambered barrels is the stinger a no-go. On regular versions of the gun, stingers are just fine. It's what I shoot in both of mine.

  • @RROCKSTARR57 in the manual it specifically says not to use stingers in the target/ tactical models, which are two of the five main models offered now. This leads me to assume they can still be fired in carbines, compacts, and all-weathers no problem

  • Love the feedback from the hits! I think you could do this with bulk .22 ammo, right? The $20 for 500 kind.

  • Nice video! Shooting steel is great! Love the feedback from the ht

  • Very good video and great shooting...

  • are you near huntsville alabama ? that trail looks very similar to the one i shoot at lol

  • @dalesfirearmservice

I am over 100 miles north of Huntsville.

  • Welcome to the Englishman's way of shooting none of this scope rubbish! nice one bud!

  • Comment removed

  • Just another reason I will be buying a Ruger 10/.22. Just about the perfect .22 LR there is.

  • @unimogbill

I want another one, looking at the heavy barreled target model. That one will get a scope. The 10/22 in this video will always be stock with the possibly of a front sight modification.

  • @unimogbill dude

  • what kind of rings would you need to mount a scope on your 10/22? it looks like you cant even mount anything on it but idk about this rifle or scopes so yea..

  • Love all your videos, you are the man! Fantastic shooting and really great pnp video, just love it and the narration as well.

  • How many feet high did you raise over the target?

  • Ive tried shooting rocks at 200 yards with my 10/22 but at that distance it doesn't make any dust so i couldn't really tell where i was hitting. I thought the bullets were tumbling and falling out of the sky, but i guess this video proves its possible. Nice shooting.

  • i'm not so sure that the standard def camera is recording slower or faster as much as i think it may be the fact that it takes the sound that long to reach 200 yards away

  • Thanks for a good video there's not much out there

  • How often do you clean the bore? and how often do you do a full cleaning?

  • That is some good shooting mate, thanks for sharing

  • Have you tried the new 25 round mags that Ruger makes now for the 10-22?

  • @NatePlaysMM the ruger bx 25? I have one on mine and put about 8 clips thro it with no mis feeds or jams.

  • @NatePlaysMM

I just bought a couple and will be reviewing those soon.

  • he hit 23/25

  • thanks for sharing the video! i enjoyed!

  • Nice Video! Good work and that is decently accurate especially for open sights! I imagine if you had a simple 4 power!

  • Great video and great shooting! The target cam was a nice touch.

  • that is sooo cool!!!.I just bought an all weather as well.I didnt know the Ruger can do that kind of range.have you tried with driffernt ammo?Thxs for a great vid!!

  • I'm impressed. Never thought to attempt that distance with my 10/22.

  • Finishing with a headshot. Like a boss:)

  • Awsomw

  • do you really need earplugs for a 22 there not loud at all ( unless you have a handgun 22 )

  • Let's hear it for Open Sights! Just got my 10 22 about a week ago at a Gun Show in San Antonio for a little over $200. Got the black on black carbine. It's taken me a while to relearn my sight pattern, but feel I'm doing pretty good. I've ordered a set of Tech-Sights that offer incremental windage and elevation on the back sight, just like the competition sights I used in college on the shooting team. They should be arriving Monday, and look easy to install, even for a 65 yr old like myself!

  • I can not find a scope with enough adjustment to shoot at 100 yards....anybody?

  • @JimmyGunXD556 burris signature zee rings. they give you MOA adjustments without having to adjust your scope internals by using synthetic shims inside the rings. i'm using +10 shims and i can zero my scope as close as 50 yards, and as far as ~225 yards. this is on a 10/22 using the ruger weaver base.

  • @lawlpally (and a mueller 8.5-25x44 scope)

  • that was cool ...i love my ruger 10/22 they are wicked little guns

  • Any thoughts on fibre-optic sights? I don't want to put a scope on my 10/22 but wonder if some brighter sights might help... though I confess that I'm the bigger source of error than anything else. You make a lot of great videos. I always look forward to them.

  • Great video! I really want to get a 1022 for the price of ammo. i want to get an old used one though to avoid the plastic. Oh wait I carry a glock. Hmmmm....

  • shooting regular 22 cal. in long range shooting I proved to myself that a 22 can't make the one mile down range,

about 800 yards or half mile wasn't possible. any of you ever try it?

you have a nice video here, gave a like on the meter

    donze52 videos.

  • @donze52

I plan to try some 300 yds or longer soon. I have access to some land that can easily get that distance, even close to 1000 yds, but the ground needs to be dry to drive on it.

  • @tnoutdoors9

glad to hear you testing stuff, never take no one's word, prove it, then you'll know.

wish I could be there and film it, might if your mind to do just that.

have thought of doing one myself but time is a killer these days. plus

many land owners are getting quite nervous about letting anyone one on to shoot.

  • @donze52 Thank you for posting that video. I get so tired telling people a .22lr has quite a bit of punch left (having demonstrated it) People still think a .22lr will not go past 100yds. I cheat because my highly modified 10/22 cost around $1200 bucks when i was done with it. Nice shooting. I'm a subsciber.

  • @jameskelilowman

    might check out my video

(honest cheap weapon for the public) on youtube of course

if in the mood and time allows

    donze52

  • 3:23 is a double. Nice shooting! Sincerely- Brownnz.

  • After watching your video I was impressed,I was considering putting a scope on my savage 64,,But it came with open sights and I will surely practice more with them before going to scope.superb shots at that distance..

  • wow nice shot

  • Very nice shooting.

  • put some fiber optic sights on green ones awesome

  • Damn, im going to make a target out of metal now!

  • I dig the style of your videos especially the HD quality. Also very professional. And it cant hurt your a good shot with some nice firearms. Subscribed!

  • That was pretty fair shooting with open sights! Congrats!! Just bought mine yesterday and still needs to be cleaned. I put a Simmons 22 mag scope on mine because my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. I stayed simple and light-weight because I do a lot of walking with mine. Would have been much harder to see your target behind a fiber-optic sight. I heard 24 hits, the miss was #13. Good shooting.

    Thanks for the video.

  • @nobull60

Thanks. I'm still not in any hurry to add a scope. At least, not until I try 300 yds or so with open sights.

  • Just bought a 10/22 - amazing little rifle!

  • Great shooting I saw 23 hits.

  • May I ask what camera you use? It looks really good outdoors!

  • @MrLookout73

Sony HDR-CX110. As of early Feb. 2011, they are currently going for $399 at WalMart.

  • great eyes

  • thanks for thi video!! great Shooting!

  • great shooting man!! unreal for open sights... + windage.. great shots man.. what do you believe is the best .22 LR ammo?

  • nice shooting, very impressed

  • I'm going to buy one of these next time I see one on sale

  • I thought you wernt supposed to use stingers with a 10/22, well thats what the manual saya anyway.....

    great video, and great shooting

  • @asg00001 That is what the manual says. No stingers.

  • are you going to get tech sights?

  • Great shooting I got a 10/22 just like yours for Christmas. I am having a hard time figuring out the site picture. The manual says to line up the target with the rear top blade but it is quite a bit higher than the base flat blade with grove in it. Any suggestions on improving accuracy?

  • @IKLIPTIC im having the same problem

  • I love my Ruger 10/22

  • the manual with the 10/22 says not to use stingers with this firearm?

  • Never doubt the little .22LR

Have you ever thought of getting a pair of Tech-Sights for your 10/22?

  • I guess this one dropped from my box? Hmmm! Great video as always, looks like your loving the 10/22!! Keep up the great vids!

  • cool video, .22s are the way to go....people underestimate them.

  • How did you find the trigger felt? I have heard mixed reviews with the new 10/22 polymer triggers.

...Looks like these results speak for themselves

    Nice shootin tex!

  • @GLCS2110

It "sounds" gritty, which is more noticable when I use the gun cam; camera taped to the rifle. However, I find it suitable for squeezing off for long range accuracy, and doesn't hang up on rapid fire.

I've got the Ruger SR22 on my wish list, if I can overcome paying $600+ for a .22 rifle. The SR22 uses the same system, just looks like an AR15.

  • @tnoutdoors9

darn good shooting at 200 yards, especially with iron sights.....what ammo brand did you use?

  • @tnoutdoors9 I'd go for a .22lr upper for one of your ARs first. I think the uppers just drop in and there are no changes on the lowers, so all you need are the magazines and the upper, and you're ready to go.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Should check out the Smith and Wesson Kick Brass its like 400-450$ nib

  • @GMBStillFree i owned on, good rifle but not worth the money when the ruger 10 22(which i own now) is less than $250. Customization on the ruger is endless.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Why not simply get a Ciener .22 conversion kit for your standard AR-15? Any particular reason? I've been toying with the idea of picking one up.

  • You should put some kind of medium with clothing on it and see what kinda penettration you get from 200 yards. You can see them bounce off the target here pretty good.

  • @HecklerKoch45c

I'll be showing some .22 tests in 2011. All kinds of possibilities.

  • Great shooting, we all know that with a wind the 22 can do some crazy things. Keep those fine videos coming man.

  • Very nice shooting. For long distances, you should try some standard velocity 40 grs LRN ammo, like the CCI Standard, Aguila Golden Eagle Standard or the Remington Target. This type of ammo lose less velocity than 32 or 36 grains HP bullets, and past 90 yards the retained velocity and energy is better than a Stinger or High Velocity. But you have to deal with much bullet drop.

  • Amazingly good. I have a Marlin .22 LR but I have never had any place where I could shoot at these kind of distances. I live in Sumner County, TN and I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work. ;)

  • Im glad to see you got a 10/22!!! Its one of my favorite guns to shoot. My buddy recently got a bore site and we had his 10/22 on point. It was so much fun! I love shooting hundred of rounds of 22 all day long without cutting into the wallet. Keep the vids comming!!!!!!

I always check daily for either a new tnoutdoors9 vid or hickok45 vid!!!! but its always fun to see the two of you together some rare vids.

  • @jlau08 ha I do exactly the same.. Hoping one of the two has posted.. ha ha

  • Sweet

  • Dude..you should lay out some tarps and try to catch the bullets when they rebound...they sure werent moving all that fast when they came off the steel..

DAMN fine shooting for a 22LR and irons....

    Seeya

    Dude

  • Very well done in such a wind that it roared.

  • Another great video, as always, tnoutdoors9! Thanks for the post, man:))

  • I just picked up a marlin 795 because of this video, its fun to shoot in between shooting my .308 and letting it cool off.

  • That's an excellent video and some pretty damn good shooting!

Don't bother the syncing issue with the cameras. your videos always turn out fine ti watch.

  • Mighty fine shootin'

  • The sound of a "ting" upon hit is so satisfying. But for some odd reason, on your camera when you miss, the .22 sounds so mean wizzing by.

  • I counted 23 hits. Wow! Hardly anyone shoots with open sights anymore. I still have my old single shot cooey, and pride myself on accuracy at 75 yards with open sights. Looks like I have to extend that a bit. This was great, and very interesting. Not many would think there would be any accuracy at that distance. Super!

  • nicely done

  • It looks like that Ruger 10/22 suits you well. Your shooting was great, and you proved the 10/22 is a very acurate platform, especially in your hands.

  • Great stuff!

  • Good shooting. I like the Velocitors, too. CCI makes great ammo and you can sometimes find bricks of Blazer 40 gr. as cheap as wallyworld bulk, minus the misfires. My 10/22 loves all the CCI stuff.

  • Your target-cam is a great idea and adds very good extra information to your movie. Like that very much.

B.t.w.: Very precise rifle even at 200 yrd!

  • Very nice. You really get to see the effect the wind has on accuracy. Will you be doing this with other calibers?

  • Its nice to see shooting vids that show the target, well done!

  • Very anice!

  • nice shooting...i've really enjoyed the series of videos on the 10-22......i'm thinking a visit to the gun store is in my future !!!!

  • 22's are great.... what range did you sight it in at and how high did you think you were holding? over the head? with my compact 10/22 (16.5"barrel)in a tapco stock with fire sights(peep) .... it so easy to hit things!... looking for vapor trails? Jug test at 200yds??

  • @wannatipAcanoe

This rifle has never been sighted-in. I'll do that with the scope. I was holding 12-18" over the head. I started out lower and moved up slightly. Although I really couldn't see the hits, I've shot that plate enough to know the sounds and how they correlate to hits location. Not expecting any vapor trails with the .22, but who knows. Might try some jugs at 200. The 12" circles might drop with an accurate 40 gr load.

  • @ColourMK7

I worked on this for two days before saying "screw it" and uploaded as-is with an explanation. I tried everything. The only way it would work on the latter shots was to splice after the 13th or 14th shot. The PIP frames never really lined up, and you clearly tell it had been spliced....even with only chopping 3/100th's of a second or thereabouts. My previous PIP's were shorter, which didn't give the overlying tracks enough time to get out of sync. I need a 2nd HD camera.

  • Very nice shooting with iron sghts!!

  • That was great man. Lets do 300 yards next!!! LOL YOU CAN DO IT

  • @Albee4ty5

Actually, I want to try 300 or greater with irons. Bought some 40 gr Eley match loads the other day, $10 for 50 rds. If I suck at 300 yds, then I'll know it's time to get the scope. I plan to post a vid or two with the Eley loads at a shorter distance. Those are supposed to be very accurate.

  • i've tried my 22 at 200 yards about two months ago. i was surprised how much it dropped! lol i thought it would drop more than i expected. XD

  • Very impressive. I'd be interested to know how well it would shoot at that distance with a scope.

  • Very good video makes you think twice about the 22 ,thanks

  • GOOD STUFF

  • last round headshot! nice

  • Very nice. I'll be very interested to see how much your accuracy changes once you put optics on it.

  • @noBuzzkillin

My luck, accuracy will go downhill! I'm not in any hurry to get a scope, although it will likely be within a month or so.
