as pune aceasta melodie pe orice promo pt diaspora romaneasca.
Can someone give me a translation of the songs name in Russian or English and say me what it's about? Jean Moscopol has a great voice and Romanian is a very beautiful language.
@RussianfromWolga The title is "In the country where I was born". Moscopol lived in exile after the Soviets imposed Communism in Romania. He says that his heart remained at home, that he awaits better days, when he would be able to return to his parents' village and the landscapes around it. He says that because of Communism, everyone is sad, there are no more folk songs and dances, no more violins, even the birds stopped singing,
@RussianfromWolga and there will always be a "cold autumn" and Romanians will keep crying until the Communism regime falls. He then says that spring will come again, like in other periods of Romanian history, and he will be able to return home, to the country where he was born.
@plyrgheorghe Thank you for the explanation. It sounds like the period after war was a very dark time in his life, but he never lost the love for his homeland in his heart and allways believed in the reborn of the traditional romanian life. I think that makes his songs so fascinating. I don't speek even a word on Rumanian, but it feels like I you can hear his deep feelings for Rumania out of this words (since I know what the song is about I can realy imagin Moscopols situation).
@plyrgheorghe The song reminds a bit the songs of the White Guards in the russian civil war. It's quiet sad that we haven't learnd anything out of our experiences in the 20. century. There is no more Communism in Romanian but it's still not free - first thing that Romania did after it was free of the soviet occupation was to let itself occupate by the Western Block, joining EU. It's nearly the same like here at Russia. I think todays Romania wasn't that what Moscopol had in mind.
You see my Russian friend. Us Romanians, we were once a great people where the world could be proud of. We had great writers, great musicians, great culture, we had prosperity in our existience. Our capital, was the capital of South Eastern Europe. Some the greatest intellectuals were gathered in the House of Capsa...People loved their life in Romania. Now? Now is now...aaah.
@SteauaBucuresti It's the same problem like in Russia my friend. Once we were the protectors of the orthodox Christianity, the "Third Rome", had great intellectuals, scientists, sportsman and a powerful army - todays Russia is mostly associated with vodka and bitches (by the way, whole Europe thinks that Romanians are Gypsies). But the most shit in Russia started in 1985 with the Perestroika and the Democrats.

@RussianfromWolga There are problems in Romania, but it is preferable to what happened during the Communist period.
