  • Can i use the 8GB iPod touch to make calls through Skype?!

  • problem is skype and other voips need to be connected to internet so its not a FULLY functional phone but if you have internet where you go then it works and like 2.75 a month or 12 a year or soething idk really cheap though

  • its at wal mart i saw it their

  • what you may have seen is 1 of 2 things. Walmart has "protective Sleeves" which allows you to keep scratches off the delicate glossy surface. Also Belkin has a sleeve but it is to make "Gaming" easier for the thumb. This Sleeve is for converting your iPod (not iPhone) into a wireless VOIP Phone. If you did spot this at walmart, personal message me the link so I can see what you are talking about. Thanks

  • where do i buy that?

and how much and why so expensive?

  • Where to buy? Should be available soon. Until it is, I can't say who is doing it. How much? I don't know until its out of testing and on the shelves. Why so expensive? don't know how to answer that when the product isn't even available yet.

  • lo voglioooooooooooooo

    i want iiiiiiiiit

    merda forse nn esiste

shit i think it doesn't exist now....

  • Presto, presto amico

  • make this out of high quality materials and manufacture it as good as the iPhone itself or forget about it :/

  • I fully agree. I think this should seem like it came stock with the Ipod.

  • Sell it to someone and hav them make it for you.

  • This is already underway. Hang tight.

  • nice idea. it would be nice if you add another earphone jack at the bottom.

  • If you visit Touchmod's wiki page you will see they updated it with someone named Ben who did this very thing.

  • I think the frame should be all around it or from the back instead of the sides. It'll make it more appealing as the sides make it more larger than it already is. take advantage of the thin demensions of the ipod touch.

  • VERY NICE HOW MUCH? pretend i said that in the Borat voice

  • Gimme fiiiiiiiive!

  • My sentiments exactly. A Second Third-Party has taken it upon himself to try and create this. So The race is on for final product.

  • how much and where can i get this

  • disreguard what i said i did not see it sliped over the ipod sorry.

  • Ha! Thanks for the compliment. I have updated the model to include clip/clasps at the connection point. I got it over to Touchmod a few weeks ago. Cheers

  • cool

  • Thats probably the tightest thing for the ipod touch yet. nice design very simple the only problem i see is that when you put your ear up to it the top would slide away put a bar behind it that attaches to the bottom or a plastic stick next to the plug that goes into a hole im the other side if this problem is alredy resolved disreguard what i said. but really good design and good luck with it! :)

  • why yould you spend $300 on an ipod plus like a $100 atachment when you sould easly get a $200 iphone

  • 'cause I fricken hate AT&T. I'd rather blow 400 bones upfront instead of give more money to that dreaded company. I had their service already. Don't get me started. You'll notice at the end of th spot I have AT&T covered by the crossed out sign.

  • That is pretty sweet. Make this and ill buy one! and probaly my friends who have ipod touchs would to

  • I'm spending a little time modifying the 3D model with volume control buttons and making the device sturdier so that when it goes to production it will be a little more user friendly.

  • why yould you spend $300 on an ipod plus like a $100 atachment when you sould easly get a $200 iphone

  • This is so cool! Please make this if you can!!! My friends and I want one!

  • I appreciate the kind words.

  • wats ur email ill try to help you

for TouchMods to get in contact wit you

  • Thanks for the juice. I've gotten a few responses already from the TouchMod folks. I'll keep you all in the mix.

  • I think there should be a headphone jack in the device to I can use a pare of head phone with it. ether the regular ones or the special iphone ones.

  • Very cool Idea. Kinda like with an audio splitter.

  • well have u approached these companies? and if so what did they say

  • Well I have approached the Touch Mod guys and wanted to give them first stab. Since they deal with this kind of thing specifically. As for other 3rd parties - not yet. If I get a pass from Touch Mod, then I will alert the others. If for some reason a 3rd party sees this on YouTube, given it's public content. Then have at it. I urge anyone interested to also help spread the gospel.

  • Have you tried sending this to the apple people to see if there interested just a thought. I also think there should be a headphone jack in the device to I can use a pare of head phone with it ether the regular ones or the special iphone ones.

  • I have not sent this to apple because I have been under the assumption that making something that rivals the Iphone would be bad business. I have been trying to target third party folks. Getting a large company like Apple to move on this is alot of work. Smaller companies like CTA or Altec would be easier to approach. Since they already make Ipod accessories.

  • great design where did you come up with it will it be real

  • I'm hopeing that yes it will be real. The last time I got in touch with the Touch Mod People they seemed interested. I have not visited their Touch Mod Progress in a while but you have re-sparked my curiosity.

  • are there any updates on this

  • Very nice, its good to see some great ideas coming for the ipod touch. This would be cool as Australia still doesn't have the iphone

  • how do u get that, i already hav the app

  • Well it doesn't exist yet. I am hoping eventually with enough support some brilliant Plastics Expert will want to develope it. I am still keeping my fingers Crossed with the TouchMod Guys.

  • Just got a response from the Touchmodders. It's pretty positive. Keep on the look out.

  • How about just using the plug-on as speakers for the touch? That has value.

  • I think I know what you mean, but not sure. Do you mean, use the speakers in order to create a speaker phone Situation? Sure that would be cool. However, I think being mobile is of more interest to those with a portable device (whether its a cell phone or cordless).

  • The iPod Touch lacks speakers and doesn't run Skype. You could bring this product to market today as an external speaker solution and then, after Skype support has been added, as an internet phone.

  • You are very keen indeed! Touchmodders just said "nothing is impossible". That is in regards to making it a speaker system too with volume control knob.

  • nice animation, which software do you use for this modelling?

Your concept won t be successful, because you don´t have wifi everywhere

  • True WiFi is not everywhere, But if you think about where we Stop (,get out of the car) and spend the most of our days (Office, Home... Starbucks) You can find a wifi connection. Wifi connections are popular now, they are only going to get more popular as time goes on.

I used Maxon's Cinema 4D and string it all together in After Effects.
