I used to own this card and I gotta say, I miss the kicks up the ass that ATI used to get for their drivers. Back when I bought this card, it had random crashes and errors with its own bundled game shown here (STALKER) and most reviewers and users pointed this out and got pissed off enough to complain and someone even tried to sue them for this, if I still remember correctly, which made them fix the drivers eventually. Now they're screwing up their drivers for games that worked before...fuck ATI

by term of "cheaper" i just dont think how cheap a 3870 can be back in 2007. a standard hd 3870 cost $299 when it came up while x2900xt cost $399. it may cost 100 dollars more than 3870 but 25~30% faster. not even 8800gts 512 can beat x2900xt.

ATI does get a bad wrap overall. They do make good cards. I prefer Nvidia like most gamers tho. I prefer my 9800GX2 more than my newer 275GTX

the nvdia models are preferable if your fan of crysis because its more faster in that game but in a wide range of games,..

You do realise that the 3850 is almost as good as an 8800 GT? And the 8800 GT is probably 3 times as fast as the 9400 GT. 9400 GT is a budget card, they have those in the computers at my school.

@aeagle326 thats somewhat correct. the cell processor and the RSX chip work seamlessly and act as one GPU with a few more threads for CPU processing. its about 8600gt equivalent. the GPU itself with no assistance is about a 7900GTX. but the PS3 also works like no computer does either with taking 3 threads off a 3.2ghz cell processor and is used 100% for graphics rendering. thus boosting performance of video games by about 3 to 4 times.

actually the gpu from ps3 was 7800gs rather than 7800gtx. which is a lot weaker than standard 7800gtx from desktop pc. xbox360 also having gpu that's only equivalent to x1600xt in performance. both processor are weak as hell which run as good as slow ass pentium 4 which these console aint capapble to handle complex game like crysis 1 and stalker. even metro2033/crysis 2/gta4 for console are absolute lack the feature compare to pc..

the card in the vid its an HD2900XT. its not an 3850 and yes your power supply can support this cart. it can even support bigger cards. i would advise you to forget about the 3850 and look at an 4830 wich is better and it costs around 120 euros
