I'm sorry but X and AION are like sister bands, just that AION didn't became a very popular band.
IZUMI's style was very common along this first wave of visual bands. And I'm sorry, I respect hide, but IZUMI is 1 billion times a better guitarist/songwriter than hide was.
I really like Izumi's songs. the only problem with him is he is very sloppy. a great writer no doubt. the mein kampf speeder guitar solo is my favorte solo ever. but he plays choppy. Sheja in my opinion is better than Izumi. A case of the student becoming better than the teacher. as Sheja was inspired by Izumi.
