  • Greg Gumbel should have clarified those were Ken Norton Jr's first REGULAR-SEASON touchdowns (i.e.: the last touchdown in Super Bowl XXVII).

  • My local affilate would also run a halftime news brief during the late games, probably because NBC wanted them to. However, back in those days, when my local ABC station would run the FOX doubleheader, they didn't break away for news at the half. When FOX would run a singleheader, Channel 33 would almost always show a 1PM game, because they were very proud of their news department.
